Great functionality and increased efficiency
What do you like best about the product?
A key part of my role is actively tracking and reporting on budgets. This can prove challenging and time-consuming when you have multiple projects on the go, and multiple staff managing budgets for said projects. Smartsheet was a programme that my predecessor had organised and it's something I wish I knew about in my previous roles. Budget tracking wise, I love the fact that everything is in one place, and that my staff are able to add comments, upload invoices and documents beside each budget item. From a reporting perspective, this has meant I can easily see where or how items have been quoted, why they've come under/over budget and view other key information relating to the particular expense, without the time-consuming need of the back and forths with staff (especially as we have a number of part-timers as well.
We also regularly use Smartsheet to list and keep track of key project tasks and milestones which has been a dream. Being able to interlink the various functionalities of Smartsheet again enhances productivity and increases our team efficiencies. The system is also so simple and easy to use and navigate; unlike some other project and budget management software, it doesn't require a degree to figure it out!
Pricewise, I think Smartsheet is really good value compared to similar products and software (another bonus!)

What do you dislike about the product?
At present, there is no alert system if budget items come in more expensive than originally quoted/planned. It'd be really useful if there could be a way that we could enable an alert system to notify key personnel for particular lines (such as when key milestones are coming up or get missed and items come in as more expensive than expected). At present, I need to manually go into the various sheets to check on task completion/milestones and whether items have come under/over budget.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having everything in one place and being able to go in and see all key information without the need of the back and forth with staff. Overall, this has increased our productivity and efficiency as a business, and saves me a lot of time (which is invaluable when you're an incredibly busy person and team! The ease of use and simple functionality as well mean that it's easy to train new staff to use and is easily adopted by current and new staff. Having so much in one place has also meant we have been able to reduce the number of other programs we use, further helping to streamline our software
Great project management tooll
What do you like best about the product?
I like how dynamic and user friendly it is. It is great to be able to create a Smartsheet in a simple grid view but then change it depending on the project or tasks. I like using the Card view for tasks and projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Automations are limited, specifically when it comes to moving and/or copying data across different sheets. It would be ideal if the sheet just had an identifying key (column) instead of needing to have all the same types and number of columns.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet benefits me by having flexibility in the different views. I am able to manage my projects and display an overview of where everything is at. This helps me whenever someone asks about a particular project.

It's so easy to use and I get updates from my team effortlessly without having to do much. I use it daily. The features are excellent!

It sometimes has delays when notifications are sent.

Pre-loaded templates are of great help and how the workspaces can be structured and shared. The IA is very usefull with formula creation.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. When there a child activity without a programmed date, the parent activity calculation does not take into account this. I would prefer if the parent activity also appears lacking a due date.
2. When asking for an update, specially to people that do not have a SS licence you need to send each activity individually. I would love if we could group in an single email update several activities and ask for an update.

I do not know which problemas SS is solving now

It is helpful to share information with my team on a shared document. Love the collaboration with forms.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that I can not add photos into a Smartsheet form. It can also be difficult to log into at times and find files.

Smartsheets for post production
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheets is easy to share and collaborate with. It generally keeps updated without syncing issues and is relatively easy to adjust column fields and such basic tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that Smartsheets has no ability to create tabs like an excel workbook is a real problem for us. I have worked with Smartsheet reps to try to find a work around, but nothing performs as tabs do, and because of that I can't use Smartsheets for a number of things we do on the day to day and need to source packages elsewhere.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheets does provide a secure platform to collaborate on that has a relatively easy UI.
Good organizational tool, lacks calculated functionality.
What do you like best about the product?
It has good collaboration capabilities and allows multiple people to work together very easily. It also helps in simple checklists and conditional formatting.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet does tend to struggle with formulas and more extravagant spreadsheets. We use excel for complicated formulas and Smartsheet for lists and checking things off. It tends to perform better as an organizational tool then a calculating tool

It helps with our organizational issues and helps to maintain some order in the chaos of a construction site. It helps to perform our job correctly and ensuring all aspects needed are captured.

What do you like best about the product?
The future of reporting! Love the ease of sharing data amongst customers, team members and all stakeholders in one location. Automation within the platform provides instant notification of new updates, action items and task completion. The combined features in Smartsheet has replaced other platforms for daily use in reporting status updates, sharing photo's and can be displayed via simplified dashboards. Smartsheet University has tons of instructional videos and their Customer Support is top notch and highly responsive. Smartsheet is a Game Changer!

The biggest downside is the subscription but it is well worth the costs.

Smartsheet provides a one stop shop for Project Management, providing status updates and photos to internal and external stakeholders with ease.
