Smartsheet has become a frequently used tool for me, and helps me on my day to day work.
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use: if you are familiar with excel, google sheets etc, Smartsheet becomes intuitive very quickly. flexibility in views is also very useful, when selecting Gantt chart view, timeline view, etc.
Frequency of use: I use Smartsheet at least 3 times a week, sometimes even daily.
Ease of implementation: The automation has become very familiar; I still have some things to learn but it's easy to implement reminders and automated notifications/emails.
Customer Support: I haven't really asked for any customer support, so I don't have any experience in that area.

What do you dislike about the product?
the outlook integration, I wish there could be more automatization instead of having to use InfoSpark for using outlook connectors
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating reminders and emails, also it helps me track tasks and show in reporting like the Gantt chart view and the timeline view.
Great Program Managment Tool That Is Accessible to You Team
What do you like best about the product?
Shareability to internal and external partners
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a learning curve in the beginning and can be daunting at first since due to the impressive amount of capabilities
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating realistic goals and timelines can be challenging. Being able to work through and share every step of the program timeline makes it easier to explain to stakeholders why durations take as much time as they do. It also sparks collaboration and which can lead to team member buy in and agreement on how long things take to accomplish and what realistic and unrealistic durations are to complete tasks.
Solid, Simple, but Nothing Advanced
What do you like best about the product?
Overall, Smartsheet is a solid project management tool, but I find it to be just “fine” rather than outstanding. I use Smartsheet everyday for basic project tracking and collaboration. While it gets the job done, I prefer platforms like Monday or even Asana, which I find to be more intuitive and offer a richer feature set.
Smartsheet is relatively easy to use, especially if you’re familiar with spreadsheets. The interface is straightforward and doesn’t take long to learn. However, it lacks some of the more modern UI touches that competitors provide, which can make it feel less engaging.
Smartsheet has the essential features you’d expect for project management, but it doesn’t go far beyond that. The ability to create templates is a definite plus, but more advanced features feel lacking compared to some competitors.

What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest gripe is the lack of flexibility for manipulating individual line items—they aren’t as customizable as I’d like. Smartsheet is also a bit bare-bones with no “frills” or advanced features that would make it stand out. Other services feel more dynamic and modern in comparison.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps me organize and manage project schedules in one place. It makes it easy to track deadlines, dependencies, and keep everyone on the same page. This benefits me by streamlining project planning and ensuring that timelines are clear and accessible for the whole team.
Smartsheet has been amazing!
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has improved our turn around time and communication with each other and clients, the best feature is being able to send each other important reminders and notes!
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not anything I do not like about Smartsheet it has proven to be a useful tool for our company!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has helped us solve communication and deadline problems that can occur when not having a good system in place.
User friendly and versatile!
What do you like best about the product?
I love several things about Smartsheets: Versatility in the dashboards and charting, advanced functionality of the spreadsheets, and the overall collaboration aspect that it provides as a program. It's super easy to figure out and use, though it takes a while to genuinely figure out what all you can do with it.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a spreadsheet, I miss some of the functionality of Excel. Though Smartsheet gives me more tools for charting and dashboards I feel it lacks some of the wonderful functionality in creating and managing spreadsheets on the basic level. It provides more advanced options than basic functions we have become use to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has solved many of our collaboration issues within our team. Being able to work within one program to build sheets and dashboards has been a great streamlining process.
One place for everything
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about Smartsheet is having everything in one place to track a project's progress. It's easy to visualize the tasks that have been completed, those that are in progress, and those not yet started, so that my team and I can stay on track with project goals and deadlines.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside to Smartsheet is adding one more thing to check everyday, but this is an issue that may be resolved with integration of Smartsheet into our other systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet keeps all our our project goals and steps in one place, so we don't have to keep track of it on our own. We conduct research, and each project can have anywhere from 25-100 tasks to complete. Having them all in one place allows us to stay on track.

What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that an insane amount of functionality is locked behind paywalls.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visible collaboration space for document and task management between contractors. Automated notifications for project/contractor management.
Outdated experience that makes it easy to forget
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet offers flexible spreadsheet-style project tracking that allows teams to collaborate and organize deliverables in a centralized space.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface feels clunky and dated compared to other modern project management tools. As someone who is often assigned as the owner of deliverables, I find the notification system unreliable — I never get alerts when deadlines are approaching or missed, even though it appears I'm set up to receive reminders. This causes me to forget about tasks assigned to me in Smartsheet altogether, since there’s no compelling reason or habit loop drawing me back into the platform. If I were selecting a project management tool myself, I would opt for something more intuitive, with better UX and more reliable reminders. I rarely use this platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps with project management and cross-functional collaboration by giving visibility into key dates, owners, and deliverables. It helps me stay organized and aligned on what’s expected so I can execute my work on time. That said, the interface can feel clunky at times, and improving the user experience would make it easier to engage consistently and get the most value out of the tool.
Smartsheet for ISO Compliance

Smartsheet is a powerful tool for task, document, and process management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Backups are not in a format that can be easily used, and saving them from Smartsheet is a manual process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet alows me to manage Information Security Management Systems for several clients at the same time. The attachenment options is ideal for document management dashboards.
Review of Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
As an internal user, I’ve found Smartsheet to be a capable and flexible platform for managing projects, workflows, and cross-functional coordination. Its spreadsheet-style layout makes it easy to adopt, especially for teams that are already comfortable working in Excel. I appreciate the ability to layer in automation rules, conditional formatting, and dashboards, which allow us to scale beyond static task lists and actually build repeatable, visible processes.
We use Smartsheet for everything from project tracking to resource planning and operations workflows. With some configuration, it has replaced ad hoc spreadsheets and helped us centralize information in a way that’s accessible and transparent. I also value the real-time collaboration features—comments, attachments, and notifications—which make it easier to manage distributed teams. For internal use, it’s a strong tool that bridges the gap between spreadsheets and full project management systems.

What do you dislike about the product?
In contrast, my experience using Smartsheet as a third-party contributor—specifically when responding to external audit requests—has been significantly more frustrating.
When auditors invite us into their Smartsheet workspace to submit data, our access is extremely limited. We can typically only see a few assigned rows or forms, which might seem secure on the surface, but actually impedes clarity and efficiency. We often don’t know where in the process our information sits, whether it has been reviewed, or if follow-ups are pending. There is no way to track status or view historical submissions unless we manage those records externally.
Even more problematic is the lack of global search. If I need to reference a document we uploaded two weeks ago in response to a similar question—or confirm whether we already addressed a particular control—there’s no built-in way to do that. We're essentially flying blind unless we keep a parallel log outside of Smartsheet.
Another critical limitation is the absence of seamless integration with systems like QuickBooks or any direct accounting platform. From our side, we cannot pipe in invoice data, payment records, or financial statements programmatically. All of this has to be manually exported, reformatted, and uploaded into the Smartsheet instance, one audit request at a time. There’s no version control, no automated logging, and no audit trail we can independently verify.
While Smartsheet may be powerful for internal users, it does not offer a smooth or reliable workflow for external collaborators in a compliance-driven context. If the goal is to create an efficient, transparent, and repeatable audit response mechanism, Smartsheet—at least as currently implemented for external contributors—introduces more friction than it removes.

Smartsheet helps us organize and manage complex projects, track tasks, and share updates across teams in a structured way. Internally, it improves visibility and accountability by centralizing information and streamlining workflows.
However, as a third-party contributor—especially during audits—it’s more limited. While it provides a standardized way to submit information, the lack of search and integration with financial systems means we still have to do a lot of manual work outside the platform.
