lots of options, lots to learn but is pretty user friendly
What do you like best about the product?
Hyper links are great. I love the ways you can sort the sheet for the specific info needed
What do you dislike about the product?
I have never really found a way to lock the sheet. I have been able to make reports but someone always sorts the main sheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I really do like the ability to share info across the company and with other companies that I do projects for
Customizable to build your own workflows and solutions
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of using automation to build your own workflows and processes. You can customize Smartsheet to do the specific tasks needed, and even customize the email notifications that are sent. You can use Forms to collect data, and the user does not even need to be a registered Smartsheet user.
What do you dislike about the product?
The automation window opens on top of the Smartsheet you're using, which makes it difficult to refer back to the sheet. It would be a huge improvement if the Automation could open in a different window of the web browser so I could look at the both the Automation setup and the Smartsheet at the same time (using two monitors).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows for team collaboration in a single, common file (Smartsheet). We use it to collect a large amount of internal data from SMEs and then have internal signoff/approval on that data.
Good Overall
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Smartsheet is the API that is has to merge data into spreadsheets that I receive from customers. Also the commenting on each rows is very helpful for communication with my team. It is also easy to use for every day tickets and tracking.
What do you dislike about the product?
The least helpful thing about Smartsheet is the Find tool. It doesn't have a number for how many times a thing you're searching for appears in the sheet. It can get confusing when you search through them but you don't know how many times you've looked at the same thing or how many things with the same name are in the sheet. It can also get confusing when scrolling left to right.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping me solve workplace collaborations and management of tasks that need to be done and are completed by other team members.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet excels at combining the flexibility of spreadsheets with powerful project management tools. It’s great for collaboration, offering real-time updates, automation, and clear visibility across teams. The intuitive interface makes it easy to manage complex workflows efficiently.

Smartsheet can become expensive for larger teams or advanced features. Also, it may have a learning curve for users unfamiliar with project management tools.

Smartsheet helps streamline data collection and reporting by simplifying intake form creation and automating quota submissions. This saves time, reduces manual errors, and provides real-time visibility through dashboards for better decision-making.

ability to rollup to a portfolio dashboard with visuals for leaders

marketing against airtable as its hard to defend the tool and keep. we may lose to companies better at marketing value prep

Essential for Streamlining Workflows Company-Wide
What do you like best about the product?
Seamless integration for all users, allowing increased collaboration in real-time

No formatting available for indivdual cells (bold, italic, links, etc)

The ability for many users to seamlessly integrate in real-time
Great UX
What do you like best about the product?
This software's layout being similar to Excel makes maneuvering it very simple. The split design between the Gantt chart view and sheet also supports our team drastically when making changes to the schedule in a quick manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
It automatically saves after a while and sometimes I'd rather manually save if I'm doing a change that is temporary and/or tentative to the project schedule. This almost always leads to trying to remember what the original schedule was like to manually fix it instead of clicking the undo button (which turns gray and unclickable after saving).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a designated schedule software that allows ease of use for last minute changes and also integrates sharing the file for discussion with our clients.
It has made project management and tracking information much easier.

Real time collaboration. Multiple reams can track progress and ask for updates.

Our organization does not understand how to connect data.

Only downside some may have with it is the cost, but we have found the investment in smartsheet has paid off significantly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has solved several key challenges for our team, particularly around project management, communication, and process consistency. Before using Smartsheet, we spent a significant amount of time on manual tasks—sending individual follow-up emails, tracking progress through disconnected tools, and managing projects through spreadsheets that were difficult to update and share in real time.

I like the way it calculates as far in advance as I need ahead of time

The saving function, wish it saved more frequently

I can input my dates and work backwards or forwards for predicting timelines, I can input company holidays, manipulate predecessors
