Smartsheet: Flexible, Powerful, and a Game Changer for Team Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how flexible and easy to use Smartsheet is. It feels familiar like a spreadsheet, but it’s much more powerful when it comes to managing projects and keeping teams organised. The ability to collaborate in real time, track progress, and automate workflows has made a big difference in how efficiently my team works. Smartsheet’s automation features and customisable views are game changers. I can switch between grid, Gantt, calendar, or card views depending on what I’m working on, and I love how it all stays synced. The automated alerts and reminders keep everyone on track without needing constant follow-ups.
What do you dislike about the product?
There’s a bit of a learning curve at first, especially when setting up more advanced automations or complex dashboards. Some of the formatting options can also feel limited compared to Excel, and large sheets can get a bit slow to load if there’s a lot of data or formulas. Pricing can be on the higher side for smaller teams, but the value and features generally make up for it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us stay on top of deadlines and maintain a clear overview of all our projects in one place. It’s made it much easier to track progress, assign tasks, and see where things stand without having to chase updates. The automated reminders and notifications help keep everyone accountable, and the dashboards make it simple to spot bottlenecks or upcoming deadlines. Overall, it’s improved our team’s organisation, communication, and ability to deliver projects on time.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is easy to use and it is possible to create a Gantt chart quite quickly. After completing the initial tasks, you can easily make changes and adjust the actual duration of each task, allowing you to compare this data with the initial forecasts. It is also possible to directly import an Excel file into Smartsheet, which greatly facilitated my handling of the software when I first started.

What do you dislike about the product?
The visualization of multiple projects becomes tedious when there are a large number of cells to manage. Additionally, when a task is assigned to multiple collaborators, it is not possible to distinguish their respective FTE, which complicates the overall management of FTE. Finally, customer support sometimes lacks responsiveness to our requests.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows us to track all our company's projects in detail, helps us improve in the implementation of new projects, and be more precise with our deadlines.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is its user-friendly interface and intuitive design. Even though I’m not PMP-certified, I find it very easy to build, track, and manage complex projects. The platform allows me to visualize timelines, assign responsibilities, and follow progress without needing deep technical or project management expertise. It truly simplifies project coordination and keeps everything organized in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
The navigation within columns can sometimes be distracting compared to Excel. Whenever I need to check specific details or analyze data more closely, I often end up exporting the sheet to Excel to do it there. Ideally, Smartsheet should allow for a smoother and more flexible in-platform data review experience, so everything can be done directly without the need for exporting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is helping us improve data governance and ensure data synchronization across teams by centralizing everything in one location. It serves as a single focal point for all users, making collaboration, updates, and tracking much more efficient. This has reduced duplication of work and improved transparency across different departments.

It is a very versitile tool and excellent for project management

I am not a fan of their subscription models, and I find the prices unsuitable for a small South African business like mine.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I personally use it for project management, financial management, and keeping track of bookings. One major advantage for me is the ability to upload attachments directly to row entries.

Smartsheet Makes Project Tracking Effortless for Excel Users
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is basically a Microsoft Excel in a web format. A as a result it is easy to use for people with Excel knowledge. Cell in different sheets can be easily linked between various sheet, so that when you update date in project plan, the date on the overall tracker changes automatically. In our organization we use Smartsheet on a daily basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes Smartsheet can look a bit bulky with lots of different information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In our organization we are using Smartsheet to track project progress, assign resources and project reporting. We've created customer dashboard which takes dates from project plans and input them into dashboard, this feature makes customer reporting much easier.
Well-Defined and Easy to Use
What do you like best about the product?
This product is very well designed and user-friendly. I really appreciate that I can load pages filled with information without experiencing any lag, which makes the overall experience much smoother.
What do you dislike about the product?
Right now, I am unable to access the software. It keeps giving me an error and displays a message saying the issue is due to connectivity problems or ongoing updates. Since this tool is essential for our tracking needs, it would be helpful to receive advance notice before any updates take place.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main advantage for me is its task management feature, which helps clarify who is responsible for each task and when it should be completed. This has made it much easier for me to handle tedious and confusing assignments.

That it's online based only. it'll be great if there is an app with an offline mode.
