Effortless Lecture Capture and Integration
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Panopto is fairly easy to use and it easily integrates into our Learning Management System. The initial setup was very easy with support from the Panopto team.
What do you dislike about the product?
It could be a little clearer in terms of understanding how to use closed captioning and embed interactive options like quizzes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Panopto provides a secure way to record course lectures and integrates easily into our Learning Management System.
Effortless Video Recording and Organization with Powerful Search
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Panopto is how easy it makes recording and organizing videos. You can hit record, talk through your slides or screen, and it automatically uploads and sorts everything for you. The search features are also super helpful — you can type in a word and Panopto finds the exact moment in the video where it was said or shown. It just saves a lot of time and makes everything feel more organized and accessible.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main thing I dislike about Panopto is that it can feel slow and clunky sometimes. Uploading or processing videos can take longer than you’d expect, and the editing tools aren’t as smooth or intuitive as other platforms. It works, but it doesn’t always feel fast or modern, which can get frustrating when you’re in a hurry.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Panopto solves the problem of keeping lectures, recordings, and class materials organized in one place. Instead of juggling different apps for recording, uploading, sharing, and storing videos, Panopto handles all of it at once. It also makes it easy to go back, rewatch, search inside videos, and take notes, which really helps when studying or catching up on something you missed

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to record and watch videos for my classes. It’s really helpful for reviewing lectures anytime I need. The main upside is that I can access my recordings from anywhere, which makes studying more flexible.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike is that it can sometimes be slow or glitchy, which can be frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Panopto makes it way easier for me to go back and review class lectures whenever I need to. It’s great because I don’t have to worry about missing anything during live classes, and I can watch the videos at my own pace. Honestly, it helps me learn better and saves me a lot of stress when I need to catch up or review tricky topics.

What do you like best about the product?
I truly appreciate Panopto for its exceptional ease of use, which makes it accessible and straightforward for everyone from faculty to students. Its user-friendly nature is a highlight, allowing seamless navigation and interaction that greatly enhances the user experience. Additionally, Panopto offers comprehensive training and learning materials, which I find incredibly beneficial for both onboarding and continuous learning. These resources help us get the most out of the platform efficiently and effectively. The platform’s modern and clean interface adds to its appeal, presenting a more up-to-date and clutter-free environment. I also appreciate the superior hosting capabilities of Panopto, providing us with ample space and a better hosting situation which significantly improves the ability to store and manage our video content effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the process of SSO creation and migration challenging and somewhat difficult. It doesn't operate smoothly, especially for administrators. I believe there should be a more efficient system for migrating data from an old site to Panopto to make the transition easier. Another aspect I dislike involves the dual login system for admins and creators/viewers, which currently requires toggling between accounts. This could be streamlined to enhance usability. Additionally, as an admin, I face inconvenience because the lack of SSO option forces me to enter my username and password repeatedly instead of utilizing a single sign-on feature. These areas could be significantly improved to enhance the overall experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find Panopto provides a modern, user-friendly video hosting platform, making it easier for faculty, staff, and students to engage with video content. It allows us to deliver more videos to students efficiently, improving classroom engagement.
All-in-One Solution with Fast Support and Convenient Online Tools
What do you like best about the product?
All the in built features like Editor, online reocrder without need to install the program, the Panopto Support is helpful too usually I will get my reply within a day without too much waiting.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of the enhanced features are behind a paid wall meaning we need to pay for more for these enhancement, just curious if the features is behind paid wall how would people be able to use or test these new features? Without user testing won't these new features means nothing to user?
Did Panopto like consider granting institutions like a one semester (6 months) worth of such features for free so that institution can invite their educators to use or test these new features, honestly speaking if no one wants to test or use your new features because of the paid wall needed to access it, it's very hard for the education institution to justify paying for it if no user wants to use these enhanced features.

Search within video for keywords is very useful

There are still some issues with 2FA for single sign on.

What do you like best about the product?
I find Panopto's browser recorder, remote recorder, and editor extremely useful. The transcriptions are also super beneficial for my needs. I appreciate the technical services team's support during the migration process, making it quick and accurate. The platform provides a great delivery method for video content and a toolkit for professors and instructors to create and edit videos remotely. The feature set fits perfectly with our use case in higher education.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would retool or omit the Elai tool. Additionally, the absence of AI summaries in the videos is a drawback. A feature that could generate AI summaries for users would be beneficial.

Panopto provides an effective delivery method for video content and solves video creation challenges, enabling professors to create, edit, and share videos from any location.
