Very useful for DB connection, collaboration, and quick data exploration with Python
What do you like best about the product?
It connects to my Athena database very easily making queries so quick. I can oraganise projects with my team and collaborate with them quickly and easily, and share outputs easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboarding feature needs improvement, only one per project, not per notebook. It should also have a landscape feature. The input options need improvement, triggering them shouldn't re-run the whole notebook. Also an R integration would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data exploration in a collab environment. I can explore data stored in my datalake quickly at a request from senior management.
The best cloud workspace
What do you like best about the product?
Deepnote has some amazing features such as real-time collaboration and the education plan really helped me to use the cloud platform for my research and data science tasks.
The simple interface and easy-to-use make it stand out compared to other platforms.
The simple interface and easy-to-use make it stand out compared to other platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Deepnote sometimes quickly sets the machine offline and running the entire notebook to restore all the variables is time-consuming. Improving this feature will really help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deepnote makes data analysis tasks easy with the existing integrations which other cloud platforms don't have.
I use Deepnote for all my research now
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite features of Deepnote:
1. Super easy to collaborate and delegate work (just send a link or add as editor)
2. No setting up environments (no more "conda env create"s taking up half a gig of space for every project)
3. Easy connection to all major DBs and Google Drive
4. You can create and use python modules
5. Schedule notebook runs with emailed logs

What do you dislike about the product?
Not too much I dislike, but it gets buggy sometimes. They were minor problems so I can't remember exactly what they were.
I wish they had a multi-account feature so I could switch accounts without having to log out and log back in.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do academic research at a business school, so I acquire and analyze data and run models on Deepnote. It's also nice because you can run some quick scripts without having to create separate conda environments.
Deepnote helped a lot during tech school!
What do you like best about the product?
Versital for social collaborations. easy layout to follow.
What do you dislike about the product?
I was too new for problems. I had a little trouble navigating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I didnt have any problems, it was beneficial being able to link projects during classes.
Great Python-Environment for easy teaching
What do you like best about the product?
Simple coding and compiling, clear Markdown functions, easy sharing options, great support by community and the Deepnote team!
What do you dislike about the product?
Easy way for students for integrating new packages is missing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deepnote offers a simple way of common programming not only within a team (wherefore many solutions already exist) but especially with non-programmers who still need to get used to coding.
Deepnote is a great tool for exploratory data analysis as well as teaching platform.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I do not need any environment setup; I can just start writing my code. Further, I like that Deepnote provides me with a lot of additional features, such as highlighting individual sections etc. Most importantly, I can easily share it with my students.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes while working with Deepnote, it disconnects, and I have to reload it. This becomes very annoying, especially when I want to focus on the coding problem at hand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I wanted to provide my students with a platform where there they could read my markdown notes as well as be able to see code and figures. Another plus is that they can access it without logging into Deepnote.
First time learner/user friendly
What do you like best about the product?
Deepnote doesn't require any downloading since it's all done online therefore saving space.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not applicable/ don't have anything I dislike
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deepnote helps save computer space since I work directly on safari
Amazing collaborative data science workspace in the cloud
What do you like best about the product?
I love having all of my work in one place. This used to mean it's on my local machine, but on my machine, it doesn't help anyone else. With Deepnote, it's all in one place AND in the cloud. I used to keep my projects in Github, but with file storage limited there, it's not a great solution for data scientists.
Jupyter compatibility is truly great as well. You don't need to use the Deepnote-specific cells (SQL and charts currently) and this preserves perfect compatibility with Jupyter. Simply do all of your work in Python or R (including charts) and anyone else using a Jupyter-compatible environment can use the work.

What do you dislike about the product?
Not much I don't like about Deepnote. The biggest annoyance is waiting for the container to start up so I can get to work. This usually takes less than a minute, but it's something. This can be mitigated as I can still write code and text while it's starting, I just can't execute any code until it starts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deepnote solves two problems for me, one of which I didn't even know I had. The first problem is organizing my work in one spot. It's superior to Github as it handles large files and things like secrets easily. The second problem was easily sharing my code. I never thought too much about it, but when I saw others looking at and commenting on my work, it's a really great feeling. These days knowledge workers don't always see the fruits of their labor, and this was a big boost for me.
Great product for data science teams
What do you like best about the product?
Deepnote has struck the right balance of flexibility and ease-of-use. A new environment can be spun up in less than a minute, which is great for collaboration. You can also set up custom initialization inside init.ipynb, a notebook that runs every time your environment is restarted.
The notebook interface has also continuously improved with useful features such as the Table of Contents and the variable explorer.

What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing of more powerful compute is more expensive than other providers we looked at. Therefore, we tend to run our deep learning work on another platform (lightning.ai) and do exploratory data science work on Deepnote.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deepnote helps us with collaborating on notebooks and easing new programmers into python.
Great platform for a shared work
What do you like best about the product?
convenient way to keep the machine state and a reproducible work space, good connection with Github, data storage and other services
What do you dislike about the product?
inability to keep a notebook open next to fhe terminal window
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
shared and consistent work space
