Longtime Deepnote User - Teaching High School Python and It's Fabulous
What do you like best about the product?
The simple fact that it is a notebook platform is perfect for education, but beyond that is how Deepnote has extended its platform to make imports easy. My students and I LOVE the fact that the notebooks can be published as apps. The fact that you can add input using graphical components without having to code also is so useful. Lastly, the SQL integration (among many others), makes it very easy to teach students a querying language and the power it can bring to their apps. Basically, Deepnote make everything easy. I haven't had the chance to use their AI much, but I imagine that it too is fabulous. In 2021, I was put in contact with Elizabeth D. at Deepnote and she walked me through the product at that time and too copius notes about our use cases in education. A lot of the features we requested came to fruition. Lastly, the Education plan has been outstanding and we (fellow CS teachers) truly appreciate their commitment to education.
What do you dislike about the product?
Early on, Deepnote could be a little laggy. However, I'm sure that some of this was due to rapid growth. I don't see those problems anymore and there is constant improvement in speed as well as features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I teach a second and third level Python course and we have student and also sponsor an AI/ML club at school. From using Pandas, matplotlib, SQL, Deepnote allows my students to explore data with zero setup. Additionally, my AI/ML club uses Deepnote exclusively. Deepnote and notebooks in general are great for education. Deepnote abstracts away a lot of complexity for my students so we can focus on implementing the code.

What do you like best about the product?
I was amazed seein the Deepnote AI programming of writing the codes, enhancing and auto correcting. what not everthing.
What do you dislike about the product?
SInce, i am a research scholar atleast they should allow us to use Deepnote AI for more days rather than 15 days trail. They should also sign MoU with universities and research organisations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Auto code generation and enhacement of the code. Friendly user and machine understanding

My only grievance is the lack of a debugging tool. Makes it difficult to find errors in larger notebooks

Ever since my professor introduced us to Deepnote, it has completely revolutionized the way I approach data science projects. It's incredibly user-friendly, making real-time collaboration not just possible but seamless across various academic disciplines. Whether it’s integrating diverse data sources, managing environment dependencies, or creating interactive visualizations, Deepnote handles it all with ease. I've even introduced it to other courses, where it's equally effective in fostering a more interactive and productive learning environment. Its cloud-based nature means I can work from anywhere, anytime, which is a huge plus. In short, Deepnote is an invaluable tool for anyone looking to simplify and enhance their data science journey.

The free machines arent so powerful from the start but what can you really expect

Data access and integration can be cumbersome, but Deepnote’s easy integration with various databases and cloud services streamlines this process. It’s incredible how effortlessly we can connect to and manipulate data from multiple sources, which broadens the scope of our projects.
Great tool for collaboration and education
What do you like best about the product?
The diverse possibilities to create a workspace are fantastic. You can easily enter executable code as well as pictures or of course text paragraphs. I use it every other day, mostly for education and from time to time for my work as well.
It's also greatly enbedded in our university plattform and the possibility to collaborate is just great.

There could be more possibilites in terms of formatting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
First of all to have a collaborative space. It benefits me and my colleagues in being able to work from abroad and collaborate on our projects.
I am a data science student, I love Deepnote, it is an excellent tool.
What do you like best about the product?
For notebooks with Python and an SQL database, Deepnote allows you to interact directly with queries from the notebook and work with the result as if it were a Pandas DataFrame.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes we don't know something that is very useful, for example I didn't know that you could keep autocomplete suggestions in view by pressing 'Shift+Tab'.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deepnote is a webapp shareable with Jupyter Notebooks that has collaboration, integration and visualization functions that help me in my work as a Data Scientist.

What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?
With the free plans it sometimes shut down your notebook for lack of resources, but i think it is comprensible. Personally, being i a student, i would be glad if i could have even for a short period of time (like once a month) 24h of increased computational capacity. It would allow me to run more complex algorithm and test models without the need of doing it locally. But i know that it would cost the company, so nothing to complain about
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do not have a particularly powerful machine, i can work and build projects 'on the go' without worring of depleting my laptop battery and so on. It also allows be to cooperate with my peers and my professor in a very simple and intuitve way.

What do you like best about the product?
We can interact as a class on the same project. Additionally, it helps to view the code while being able to add personalized notes for my personal use. It is easy to implement while I can use it multiple times without worrying whether my work will be lost.
What do you dislike about the product?
A more user friendly feature would be nice, folders to organize projects that are related also a dark mode.

I can have code, text, graphs, photos and charts all together.

I am currently studying a Data Science Module. Our professor will set tasks on Deep note with all of the notes week by week. So we are able to test out and edit our code in real time, which make learning Python easier, more intuitive and organised
Team work, to run code!
What do you like best about the product?
Deepnote is brilliant, I like to study from it, take notes, exercise on coding. Apparently my professors like teaching from it too, beavuse they can share with us a project, we can work on it, work on a duplicate of it. Is it a really fast way of learning.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like the possibility of making folders to store things with order in my private workspace. Then it would be perfect to modify photos in the notebook by writing or drawing on them.
