Solid Platform

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is so simple to use and very intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer support could be quicker to respond, however they have always been friendly and helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With this platform, we are going to track data related to our environmental education programs. Airtable has allowed us to store all of our data into one place, and even integrates with Google Forms which has been a major data collection tool for us.

We are a small team that is split between 2 offices. This allows all of our work to be in 1 location without us physically being in 1 location. The instruction videos are also very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike yet though we are very new to airtable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
n/a

Great for managing a distributed team

  • July 26, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We have started using Airtable to do project management over Global Fishing Watch. We are a distributed team that has three main areas: Research, Development and Communications. Finding a tool that adapt to both tech and non-tech people was a challenge, but Airtable is powerful while yet simple enough for everyone to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
Learning curve for using views for non-tech people is a bit high.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communications between our research, communications and development team. Give a broad view of the project to the full team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a very powerful and yet simple solution that adapts can adapt to every need. Since it has a very spreadsheet like view, it is very easy for everyone to learn to use.

Non Profit Uses Air Table for Team Collaboration

  • July 26, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In the past I have used 2 program management software systems to do everything we need... plus multiple spreadsheets to maintain data for a team that works remote. I had finally gotten to a point where I thought I was going to have to hire someone to build something to help us because our multiple systems are a burden, and critical deadlines were missed. Until I found Airtable and so far it the perfect combination of all the items that we need to properly function and a decent calendar feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far there have not had any problems with the system. It is super easy to convert some of our excel files into workable tables on Airtable. Things that are industry specific can be adapted and imported in a matter of minutes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We manage different types of programs (5 separate programs and growing) and a remote team all with a robust schedule. We needed something more than just a task list and assignments... and the calendar feature on the pro is a life saver so far. We had yet to find a calendar feature that worked for the segmentation we needed until we used Airtable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
use the free trial, I found the functions to just test it out were super helpful.

Saves Time and Advances our Programs

  • July 25, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best is that Airtable saves our team time through a collaborative, easy to navigate the system. It also allows us to make smarter decisions because all the pertinent information is in one place easily viewed a number of ways.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much- there are only a few minor things I have run into that I would change. For example: when there is a multi-select and you try to group it should not consider multi-selected one unique type but allocate them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saves time, more nimble, and smarter business decision marking

Excellent product for the spreadsheet-averse

  • July 25, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Great for making databases! I don't have a lot of in-depth experience with database creation or management, nor with Excel, and I've found that Airtable allows me to handle all of my database needs without that type of training.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much! I wish there was a bit more customization for public-facing pages, such as forms, but that's about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Volunteer registration, donor management, project management.

Customizable for a variety of needs

  • July 25, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is very customizable, which is a huge plus. The interface is user-friendly and easy to figure out.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the starter bases are difficult to customize in that they have a lot of different fields displaying across multiple views -- it can be difficult to find every little thing that needs to be changed so it isn't Airtable's default content that displays throughout your base.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Airtable to meet a variety of needs: website redesign milestones and timelines, story tracking through the publication process, social media editorial calendars, and digital video production status. We are also working on a base to track the success of our various ad campaigns.

Airtable is my new favorite tool!

  • July 25, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of combining spreadsheet w/basic database functions! I'm a long-time Filemaker user and developer. Now I'm finding that AirTable does most of what I need so much more cost effective for a small non-profit.
What do you dislike about the product?
To date, I find some of the BLOCK functionality pretty limited. And I think AirTable needs a little bit more flexibility in pricing. I run multiple small businesses and keep trying to find ways to allow teams for free -- for the occasional use stuff. I think pricing is reasonable but not for users who use very rarely.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Still working on that!

Airtable is the best solution for implementing database features in a non-technical and flexible way

  • July 24, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Airtable is the ability to have database like validation and being able to link records across sheets without having to setup fragile data validation or vlookups as you would need to do in a spreadsheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
1 - There is not rich text field type which cripples our use of Airtable if there was a field type that could house rich text then Airtable would be exponentially more valuable as a datastor

2 - The styling options are limited especially for published, embedded, or shared views. Specifically, the spacing of objects is not dense which again limits the feasibility of broad application as many public use cases for data presentation require dense presentation of data points. Airtable is limitting due to the large margins and padding presented in each object.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have 100,000+ documents and data objects that we mix in various sequences and struggle to coordinate where each of these items is being used across the organization. Airtable offers a central place where a document or data object can have a single record entry which can then be referenced elsewhere or related to other projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Airtable is a great option for replacing simple spreadsheets or simple database requirements but may still lack functionality for complex data and document storage.
