Highly flexible and extensible, very powerful

  • February 05, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how flexible Airtable is. You can use it for all sorts of projects and within many different types of teams. There are a lot of different visualization types that make it easy to tailor a base or table to your specific situation. It is easy to build integrations with other services, either using built-in connectors or by writing your own extensions and automations. The language used is JavaScript so it is very approachable and familiar.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the learning curve can be high. There is a very high ceiling on customization, so new users can sometimes find this overwhelming. This is also not necessarily a critique of Airtable itself, but if your organization is very opinionated, you may find yourself working inside of a system designed in peculiar ways and that holds back the flexibility of Airtable which is its biggest asset.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable provides us with central hubs for all of our teams to stay on the same page about our projects. Teams have their own tables/bases that can connect to our core bases/tables, so each team can track their own contributions to a larger project in real time. It serves as the central source of truth for multiple different teams doing multiple different things.

I Use Airtable For Literally Everything

  • February 04, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is a very versatile software program I use for everything in my personal and professional life. I'm a librarian, and while Airtable is often used by people looking for a CRM, HR onboarding/offboarding, or inventory-tracking platform, I use it for planning courses, keeping track of my finances, my leave request documentation, my professional portfolio of resources I have created, research, a database of my high-value items for my home insurance, to name a few uses. It is better than using an Excel or Google Sheets spreadsheet because it is so much easier to link databases and tables, and you can also easily upload files. The automation feature is also much easier and more secure than using scripts. The value compared to Excel and Sheets is incredible. You can also create different views with different permission levels, such as making lists, a gallery view, kanban style, and many more. They also have excellent tutorials to learn some of the more advanced features, both written and video. Their customer service is on point as well. I didn't expect to get helped as fast by sending an email, but they responded immediately, and it was an excellent experience. I really can't live without Airtable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some sync features are annoying because they are only available through a more expensive subscription. If you are a company, paying extra for the feature probably isn't a big deal, but I am the only one using it, so it is a little out of my budget. Some formatting features, like using colors, are limited, meaning there are only a few colors to choose from. There is also a little bit of a learning curve when using Airtable, but if you can use Excel or Google Sheets, you'll have an easy time learning some of the more robust features of Airtable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me create database-type content for the classes I teach and within the same table I can create views that are just for students and then for me that sees all of the fields. This saves me so much time which is a commodity in my line of work. It helps me keep track of so many things very conveniently so I can have piece of mind I won't forget something or lose track of a project or task.

Airtable for Program Development

  • February 04, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable has helped us to streamline our course scheduling. From seeing who has taught a course in the past, to being able to see enrollment and what it has produced, Airtable covers it all! The ease and simplicity of Airtable is amazing as well. I only have a little bit of programming background but was able to build a database without a problem using Airtable
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the areas in Airtable are preset with previous data loaded. When loading in new data it would be nice if Airtable tried to connect preexisting data with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helping us solve data management. Previously we used multiple excel files to be able to track courses and who they were taught by. Now with Airtable everything is in one spot and the data is more accessible.

Exporting data out of airtable and managing permissions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there is a learning curve however there are plenty of resources I have found to offset it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable is solving the task of tracking a huge Leadring and Development ongoing project and allowing us to clearly communicate to our management team where employees are at and how to grow them.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Helps support organization effeciency

  • February 04, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable has been a big help to manage a number of programs at my organization. It helps me capture important information about volunteers in a cohesive and efficient way. The forms are very easy to design and use. It has automations that have been helpful to manage the programs so I do not have to respond to everything that is submitted to the forms. These forms are used on a monthly basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont like there is no way to change the color of or seperate data in the grid view from year-to-year. I also think the grid view to excel on Google Drive intergration and communication could be more efficient and accurate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to be able to manage my volunteer programs in a one stop shop format to get demographic data on each volunteer, manage resource material mailings, collect community engagement data, and leverage automations to help streamline program requests and reporting processes.

Slam dunks over google sheets or excel

  • February 04, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We primarily use airtable as a PIM, but also have tons of other sheets that are use for Project management to issue tracking. It's integration with Zapier or Make mean it's easy to still manage your information in the way we're all familar with (spreadsheets), but it is so much easier to use than Google sheets or Excel online. Real time collaboration is awesome. Additionally you can embed certain views on your website for easy viewing
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit clunky at times. There aren't a ton of plugin's and sometimes, what seems like simple tasks are tremendously difficult if simply not possible. Example, do you want a direct link to an image that you've posted on airtable (so it can be downloaded else where), won't work and Airtable has said they don't intend to support this. So we've had to setup a Zapier connection to store all the images elsewhere.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Super inexpensive PIM (couple hundred dollars a month compared to 4 figures), that we can easily customize to our needs. Scrum / Project management tools.
