Best data organization systemI've used

  • May 31, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The functionality of both Trello and Excel is my favorite part. It's like a datasheet. Or a spreadbase. (I'm a writer; I make up words.)
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a way to send entries from one base to another. But unfortunately, that functionality doesn't exist. It's the only thing I don't like about it. I also wish I could search an entire base, instead of individual sheets in the base.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving so many problems I don't know where to start! First, I'm keeping tarck of my extensive library. I've got 30 places where I keep books, and I can find any of them by going through Airtable. I keep track of my company's branding info in Airtable.I also use it as a CRM, a content management system, and a running brain dump.

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is good for organising anything. I love that they have pre made templates for inspiration but I also like that it's easily shareable with third parties without needing to login
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't dislike airtable! Just wish that some of the premium features were free!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use airtable to manage my property search detailing all the information of the properties I have viewed with links included.

The options are endless with Airtable

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing for me is that there are few things that you can't do with a database. A database is the central hub of most software programs and most companies. Airtable takes databases to the next level while remaining user-friendly enough to use your data. The introduction of integrations and automation is a true changer.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest drawback for me was the fact that you can't create view-only (guests) under the paid plan. For example, if you share a table with someone, on the paid plan you still have to pay for them per month to access it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving the problems of managing my data in ways that make the most sense for me. Whether its managing inventory or employees, or potential clients, I can do it in Airtable. It's easier to use than Excel, and with the integrations I can connect to other systems I might be using. Honestly, as it continues to grow, I could see it replacing some of my other apps.

A resource for anything and everyone

  • May 28, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I love best about airtable is the fact that you can control your project management design AND be inspired by the countless templates at the same time. There is not an expectation that you be an expert. The simple bases are helpful. The complex bases are helpful. And being able to know that you can customize your bases to work best for YOU, and have it be very user-friendly, is a huge resource, especially for folks who are used to having complex projects, but do not like to use complex tools in order to organize them.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the # of features that require us to go to third-party applications and pay for additional licensing. After investing in enterprise for example, or even pro, adding additional licensing for an organization with limited resources or a limited budget for technology, is an even harder sale than getting the airtable licensing is. This sort of curtails the efficiency of airtable - in the eyes of those who don't use but fund it or pay for it - and creates additional steps that the folks in need of user-friendly tools are thrown off by.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With airtable, I am bringing different public and private entities together to collaborate on serving community members. I'm also assisting with the development of an update to our emergency operations plan, our county strategic plan, and affordable housing strategies. Additionally, I've been using airtable to create bases for community oriented departments and groups to be able to work across organizations and within organizations more efficiently, and to streamline their communication around services. I use airtable frequently as a way to get feedback from different stakeholders, and as a way to schedule important conversations. Airtable has allowed me and my colleagues to not only enter data into a database, but to create entire systems and workflows that make sense for us, while also being able to have an external product that our community can see. It's allowed virtual meetings to be even more productive, because of all the work that can be done at the same time in a helpful format, versus the same format that google sheets or excel or google docs come in. I've also been able to enjoy the attachment feature in external facing forms. This is something that has really changed record keeping, and that helps a lot of the processes I'm invovled in.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would set aside time to look through the guide, and also to attend one of the live trainings as well as one of the pre-recorded trainings. Keep a notebook and jot down tips or tricks that you think you'll need in the future, this will help you remember and use it and become more comfortable with the platform.

Stellar tool for building all the things

  • May 28, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable provides a toolkit for building tools that make life and work easier (and more fun). The interface is intuitive, the platform is robust, and the resources are vast. I started using Airtable 3 years ago and it's been an absolute game changer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Frankly, it's hard to find anything to dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've built a custom CRM, content management tools, product roadmaps, competitive landscape databases, human capital tracking bases, just to name a few. It's streamlined our workflow and made it easy to manage projects and large amounts of information as a small team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the free version and check out Airtable Universe to get started. It's easiest to learn by starting with a template - and there are many on Airtable Universe!

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable allows me to organize content for numerous clients in a convenient and accessible manner and share access with select contacts to specified information. It has made my workload easier to manage.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile app is nice for referencing data on the go, but not a replacement for entering and manipulating data on a desktop.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable allows us to share living info with clients and our remote-working team without the need to share documents and worry about revisions and accessing the latest version with all parties.

The best Project Management App I have ever used!

  • May 28, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how I can create records that link to other records on the same table or on different tables. I love the ability to sync tables together on different Bases.
All of its settings allow me to keep track of all of my projects, both personally and professionally.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much I don't like about it. The things I don't like I believe are things I just dont understand yet how to use. Ex: How complicated it is to program things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to see the data the way I want to be able to see it. I can see all the information for each individual project in an organized way that helps me see what I need to in order to make informed decisions on the project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking to streamline your workflow, AirTable is the way to go.

The Best Way to Manage & Organize Anything

  • May 27, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Airtable allows you to quickly toggle between different views that you can customize to fit your unique preferences. I love using the calendar view as my main dashboard every morning, but I can quickly switch it to a spreadsheet if needed. It's so easy to add or edit unique fields. I also love how easy it is to import spreadsheets. It's now my preferred spreadsheet program!
What do you dislike about the product?
On the free plan, there is a limited number of records permitted per table, so it gets a little tricky to make sure we don't hit our maximum limit. Thankfully, they alert you when you're nearing that limit to either delete unnecessary fields or migrate items to a new table entirely. I also wish there were more color-coding options on the free plan, but I understand those are premium features. The mobile app can be a little clunky to use as well because certain view preferences are unavailable and hard to navigate as a result.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to use it like a CRM that we can customize from project to project. Being able to filter and sort unique views in a dashboard way is more intuitive than in Excel or Google Sheets. Some of us are more visual than others, so we're using the attachment feature to create gallery views for different projects. We're hoping to upgrade to the paid version later this year to take advantage of automated features and integrations with Google products.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can quickly get a feel for how powerful Airtable is while using the free plan. There's no need to worry about a free trial because the free plan itself is incredibly generous with the availability of tools and preferences. While the templates they provide can be helpful when you're just starting out, I find it easiest to start with a blank sheet and then play with each column type as I go. Be sure to allow rich HTML formatting for long paragraph fields as that will enable you to make bulleted or numbered lists with the same record as well as format text in a meaningful way.
