Simplicity of a spreadsheet, with the capability of a database
What do you like best about the product?
As great as spreadsheets are, they have limitations. Whilst databases used to be the option to consider next, whilst it's great for a developer, it's not user-friendly for general usage unless building front-end interfaces and required the expertise of a developer. Airtable has filled this gap making it possible to create a database with the simplicity of a spreadsheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pro plan which is the highest option apart from enterprise is limited to 50 000 records per base. This is unfortunately a major limitation in the case that you have a larger dataset to work with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In our case, it's a great place to work with our data, add, edit and update records. Then visualize the data in order to identify business insights and integrate with other saas platforms.
Game changer for project managers!
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable helps me keep track of my entire portfolio of projects, current statuses, and task management. At a glance, I can accurately give status updates and let me leadership team know how I'm doing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Learning how to do some of the integrations and automations can be confusing and time-consuming. I'd love more tutorial videos to help with this!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable is key to my project management -- there's no way I could keep track of everything without Airtable.
Great free database software
What do you like best about the product?
It's simple and easy to use. You can customize quite a bit with the free version or pay to upgrade and customize as much as you want.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't really think of any. It's a bit of a hassle switching between databases on the app but nothing serious
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's an online database where I can keep client and volunteer records as well as keep on top of what has been done in each client session. I can choose to share the notes with coworkers or keep them private
Flexible and Efficient
What do you like best about the product?
Regardless of what your team does, Airtable is flexible where it can adjust to your needs. The addition of extensions and automations make it an even stronger tool, but I recommend the free version to many teams inside and outside my organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downsides are that you can't edit files that are attached and the gantt features are not as strong as with Microsoft Project, but these problems can be remedied with functions or external file systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Airtable for project management of multi-year projects. I track budgets, timelines, tasks, and needs, all while keeping everything visible to my large team.

Templates. I'm not that talented in creating spreadsheets from scratch, but I've always been able to find a template that meets my needs.

Not being able to choose/change the primary field.

It's super user-friendly and so versatile! I love the huge, varied functionality of the spreadsheets.

I genuinely don't think there's anything I don't like. At least so far.

I use Airtable to keep my art licensing business organized. I use it for bookkeeping, company outreach, scheduling, etc. It's helped me keep the majority of the admin side of my business organized and all in one place, which saves me time and headaches.

It takes a while to learn how to use it well, particularly understanding what you can and can't do with linked fields
Trying to add records to views that filter out records, and having the record filtered out before you've filled it in

What do you like best about the product?
Admittedly, I like the interface best. If it wasn't so pretty and homey, I would not have moved my entire business ino Airtae databases and learned automation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Linking records gets messy. I wish there was an easier way. I'd also love a smart search feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It limits the need to waste life in dozens of interfaces. It brings everything together. If only I could explain the power of this more clearly to baby boomers.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy AirTable is to use - from it's simple onboarding, color coding, and adaptability. I have used AirTable at my past two jobs, and it has made my team's work 10,000x more efficient. My large team of approx. 300 individuals use AirTable every single day to manage a variety of projects from small social spots to large scale events across the country. My favorite aspect of AirTable is the ability to use filters to quickly get a snapshot of data as needed. For example, I can filter and search by platform, intellectual property, and assigned project manager. This is an incredible resource to not only view and determine project health, but also it can be used to verify team bandwidth and help make future assignments. AirTable is flexible for use at an entry-level to manage individual assignments, but also at a supervisor level to quickly gather insights into team performance and project delegation. As a company, we have looked into various project management tools over the past few years and we have also confidently settled on AirTable as our top contender.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish AirTable would sync with more apps. While it does have many app integrations, such as Slack, I wish it would integrate with other media planning services like ShowMgr for those who work in the production space. We unfortunately have not been able to work entirely in AirTable as we need to have a secondary platform that can hepl create work reels for our on-air spots. I also wish AirTable had an easier way to assign an assignee or expand conversations into a larger screen or space for legibility purposes. This is something that Jira is very strong in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AirTable is solving the need for one central database to store, update, and share information amongst my large corporate company. It always allows me to see all my projects in one simple place. AirTable also replaces many emails our company once had to send. For example, we no longer need to send brief updates across the company or worry about tracking a million different PDFs, word docs, or Good sheets. Instead, all information can be quickly and easily accessible in our database. The ability to share views through read-only views is very helpful as well as we often work with external stakeholders who do not have access to their own AirTable accounts.
