Airtable is indispensable to my workflow as a communications professional
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is what would result if Excel and Trello had a baby. It has all the powers of a spreadsheet/database tool, with all the beauty of a visual content management system.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've tried out the email automation function and it is quite clunky. I wanted to receive reminder emails based on specific parameters but couldn't specify them using the basic options available. (I think if I could write scripts, I might be able to get it to work precisely the way I'm hoping for, but I lack that skill.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a comms professional who not only oversees every piece of content published on our website, but also manages the distribution/promotion of that content on many different channels. Using Airtable, I am able to create one record per content piece, and by simply selecting various filters and/or checkboxes (that I set up and can continually customize), I'm able to specify which channels I want to push it out to, and have that appear in different views, for team members assisting me with day-to-day tasks. Without Airtable, I would absolutely not be able to manage the development and creation of our digital content along specifying its distribution as easily.

Sometimes you come across limitations but on the whole its never too inhibiting

Cool Excel-like Software
What do you like best about the product?
I find its best used for non-technical personnel. Great for organizing tasks and set automation. Very customizable, drag and drop features are helpful. Real time notes and reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a useful too but if budget is limited I think a tool like Asana or even google sheets isn't too far off. Airtable definitely is better than google sheets but for the price it can be up for debate
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team mostly uses it to plan for projects, and set up directories tracking owners, connections and being able to add custom notes is very helpful for our team.
Airtable could use some improvement but overall I am a fan.

I like the communication features in Airtable and how easy it is to use and learn. I like that it is customizable and that you can type with emojis when providing feedback.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think Airtable can be very slow at times and feel like it's crashing often when I am using it. It will lag and take time to update. I think it needs to be easier to submit bundle feedback as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable helps to keep things organized. I use it to submit scripts to a studio and receive back the produced audio spots that I requested. It is simple to provide details of what I need and submit feedback easily.

I found its interface easy to use as I can customize things on the dashboard. Even without experience with databases and spreadsheets, I can understand the data flow.
Also with its customizable workflows and templates, I can manage projects more efficiently. In addition to making it easier to collaborate with team members who use different platforms, integration capabilities make it easier.

Despite having the ability to combine spreadsheet and database functionality, it is not as powerful as dedicated spreadsheet software for me.
And, If I only need basic features, paid plans are quite expensive for a small team.

Custom databases in this tool have been very helpful in saving me time and reducing the risk of errors associated with transferring data between different applications.
Also, I loved that way they provide integration capabilities with other software applications, such as Zapier and Google Drive. This made collaborations more seamless with others.

-none so far, I am just wishing that I can connect more social media and digital advertising analytics such facebook, twitter, instagram for marketing use cases

It solved our siloed planning and reporting problem in the workplace. We were able to centralize our process. Awesome platform all in all. Even the free one which is good for start-ups.

Versatility and flexibility, so it makes easy to organize and manage the team's information in a customizable way. Spreadsheets and databases of any type of data. Also used for individuals project because it's a very powerful tool!

Sometimes there is a limitation in the way the tool sorts and filters some options. Also, with large amounts of data, along with a lack of detailed control access on some scenarios for Team collaboration.

What do you dislike about the product?
- After learning the basics the learning curve is a little steep
- Have to format the data constantly (at least for the work we were doing)
- We could not get it to be directly connected to a program that we are running thus added an extra step of exporting data to some other format such as xls,word and then copy that to airtable
