An ERP tool for project tracking with continuous improvement
What is our primary use case?
I use the solution for project tracking. I use it as an ERP.
What is most valuable?
I am impressed with the tool's continuous improvement. Every six months we get to see a completely different product. You can build a new product using no-code applications. We are able to scale up with the product.
What needs improvement?
The tool has changed the syncing time between the tables which has affected our multiple systems. I would like the product to add more calls per second to the API. It also needs to improve data storage. The tool starts to have problems after having huge amounts of data.
For how long have I used the solution?
I am using the solution for more than five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The tool is very stable. They always notify us to expect some problems whenever they carry out any updates.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
How are customer service and support?
I have contacted the support four times since using the product. The support team was very helpful and polite and responded to me in the next hour though we were in different time zones.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Other applications have features that are very specific. Airtable has many features. We can use the same solution for different departments of the company.
How was the initial setup?
The tool's setup is difficult for those who don't understand column-based infrastructure. For someone familiar with Google SIP or Microsoft Excel setup is like enjoying coffee. However, there is a helpful community for the tool with all kinds of information. I was able to do whatever I wanted after reading through their documentation for one to two days. The tool's deployment time depends on the project requirements. There was a complex project where the product's deployment took one week to complete.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The tool's pricing is based on the number of users. The product's pricing is okay for personal use. For large organizations, pricing can be a pain. As per the first-rate plan, you need to pay 10 USD per user. The next plan would cost you 20 USD per user. If you are looking for enterprise-type plans, then you need to contact the sales team.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate the tool a ten out of ten. We don't have any other product in the market combining data storage functionality and interface design simultaneously. There is no specific version for the solution. The tool gives out updates that apply to all users by default.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Airtable PM Review
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it a user friendly interface with multiple data input options. I also like that there are different view options outside of a standard table, like the calendar view.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that the dates do not automatically format to the timeline view. I have had issues trying to convert over to that view based on the data inputted into the table view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Coordination amongst multiple team members, tracking project status, tracking project dates, tracking project updates and status. Airtable helps consolidate these daily tasks.
Terrible support
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is an easy-to-use and versatile database, perfect for handling all the information your business needs. Its user-friendly interface allows you to create custom fields and filters to organize and view your data.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had a terrible experience with Airtable support recently. They restricted our workspace, which prevented us from using our base for more than two weeks. This was a huge problem for us, as our business relies entirely on our Airtable information, which is tied up with all of our websites, day-to-day operations, and payments. We were extremely frustrated with the situation and the lack of support we received from Airtable.
To make things worse, their support team only answered our inquiries after 1-2 days, which made the situation even more unbearable. It was also tough to upgrade our plan and unlock our base, which made us lose valuable time and money.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the primary problems that Airtable solves is the need for a centralized location to store and organize information. With Airtable, all of your business's data can be stored in one place, making it easy to access and manage. This eliminates the need for multiple spreadsheets or databases, reducing the risk of data fragmentation and errors.
More than a spreadsheet and a database
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is an mix between a spreadsheet and a database. It´s easy to learn and has a lot of great functionality like different views. You can use it for nearly every business function like tracking employee workload, internal projects, etc. It comes with a lot of templates so you don´t need to build things from scratch. The integration capabilities are great especially with Zapier and Hubspot.
What do you dislike about the product?
The record limit of the free version is reached pretty quickly. It would be great if there was a more affordable plan that offered more features than the free version but wasn't as expensive as the higher tiers. Besides that, there is nothing really negative about this solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Small business application, Database functionality, Integration layer to other apps. Automatisation of processes and workflows. Tracking in projects and using this data in apps and with app development. What is also a great usecase is the sync from Hubspot which we use to get CRM data in a spreadsheet.
The ultimate codeless database management system
What do you like best about the product?
I like how Airtable makes it easy to create minimal viable products (MVPs) without any programming knowledge. Its built-in integrations with other code-free tools make the development process easy and straightforward. It's also a great database management tool since I can write functions or make internal get post requests within its platform. Furthermore, its dynamic dashboards are super convenient because they allow me to track data points in real time on its easy-to-use interface - making everything easier to visualize quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have found that Airtable's free plans are limited and come with a cap on the number of records. This can make it difficult to manage spreadsheets with hundreds of records while also linking them together. Also, I find that using more than one account increases the cost significantly - yet not all team members need full access due to infrequent use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Individually, Airtable helps me save time and money by allowing me to access different types of data from one source. When I need to make a change, I can quickly implement new procedures or make changes to the same system instead of adjusting multiple systems.
Good but still needs improvement
What do you like best about the product?
It's a good way to create surveys and track data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Is not that easy to use when modifying surveys
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Appointment tracking and notifying clients about most recent interactions
Sophisticated product for project management and asset management
What do you like best about the product?
- Unique (especially) grid and gallery views - easy to use, good edit and sort options;
- Easy option to create a subtask for each row;
- Import / export project options;
- Gallery view drag and drop is good to use;
- Used grid view to create level database - it was near perfect UI for this particular task (overl 3000 levels are stored within one view and it's properly optimized.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Importing the project has had downsides - some tags and card / task properties were lost when we transitioned. Also, the minimum paid plan had fewer possibilities than similar projects;
- Calendar, Timeline and Gantt are not really intuitive to set up;
One small downside was that we could not set up GIF cover for entry with multiple videos - hopefully, that will have some workaround soon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our particular case's main use case was to create an art asset data base on grid view. When we became better at this kind of tools, we started to transition our level database to Airtable - and that worked out great. We still use it to this day.
Breaks down barriers to collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to customize and jump right in. There can be a steep learning curve to do complex tasks, but otherwise, it's easy to start and build out your bases and tables. It's also great there is a free option, and very easy to use with external teams and manage visibility of content. I like that it's not rigid, if you want something to happen, there is usually a way to do it.
What do you dislike about the product?
They are short on their support. There is little to no live help and it can take days to get a report response. I also wish that it had the functionality to see a "my assignments section". Airtable has the ability to tag collaborators, but although the software is collaborative, it's hard to a) see an aggregated view of where your name is assigned in user fields and b) the ability to communicate as a team without connecting it to a record. It would be great to have messaging per table or per base to keep the team apprised.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating one place to track data and build workflows. Getting rid of spreadsheets, duplicative information, and building team transparency. It is also being tested for client transparency and communication.
Great tool for managing files and data
What do you like best about the product?
Easily to use and integrate with other systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes some users' flow are not so easy to understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing data related to the project and sharing it with our team members.
Approachable spreadsheet-based management
What do you like best about the product?
The software is easy to use across desktop and mobile, and can be applied to a variety of organizational tasks, record keeping, project management, etc via a slick interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
For complex project management, deeper software such as Smartsheet may be more useful but for smaller organizations or project management and record keeping with limited scope, Airtable is easier to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Airtable to keep track of inventories of our proprietary scientific materials that are not easily tracked through a traditional laboratory/compound management platform.
