Merge makes HR automations easy
What do you like best about the product?
We use Merge to pull in data from HRIS software to help companies provide services to their employees. We could have spent hundreds of hours building and maintaining custom integrations across the 20+ integrations we provide via Merge today. Instead they make it fairly easy to connect to different HR systems and safely pull in employee data.
Their customer support tends to respond within a business day typically, especially if you get the plan with a Slack channel.
I like how easy it is to show my customers that we aren't pulling in sensitive payroll data to the API (as our service does not need that data, though I believe Merge can use it if your service needs it) because you can toggle which fields sync on and off very easily. Generally HR managers can also decide whether Merge has access to that information at all.
I am not an engineer, just an administrator that trains customers on setting up these integrations, but the software is straightforward enough that it's fairly intuitive for me to use their admin site.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some HR systems are very easy to connect to, and all they require is the HR admin to log in with a username and password. Some HR systems, like ADP, are more complicated setups that take 20+ minutes and if you mess up a step you need to start over completely. I think that is more in the nature of the original HR software than on Merge's side, to be fair.
Their documentation could be better, sometimes it is out of date compared to UI changes in the HR system I'm trying to implement. Troubleshooting errors can be a little complex.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pulling in HR data like employee information across 20+ different HR platforms. Saves time and energy building integrations ourselves.
Great product, customer service, and response to feedback
What do you like best about the product?
We use Merge all day, every day! Merge's product saves us lots of time, and they are very timely when it comes to answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and listening to feedback.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all issues are prominently or equally displayed. Would like this to be more complete with slightly more detailed remediations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integration of software
Merge is a roadmap saver
What do you like best about the product?
The number of HR integrations, the speed of standing Megre up, the great custom success.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be expensive compared to competitors
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrations play a large role in our business, but integrations alone are not our business. We need to span a wide array of hr products, and merge allows us to build a single integration to cover them all.
Speed up and improve your integrations
What do you like best about the product?
Merge is a great way to make your product handle the diverse integrations needs of your customers. We discovered Merge via its documentation while researching how to improve our native ATS integrations and found exposure to it to improve our own understandings and abstractions and made it a lot easier for us to integrate with more systems.
We were able to load data with it right away and were excited to see various tools (such as logs that don't require an engineer's involvement) that we had wanted for our native ATS integrations.

What do you dislike about the product?
If you have more advanced needs, I recommend signing up for plans that include support. While the documentation is pretty good, I haven't found forums for talking about nuanced implementation details.
We have a shared Slack and their insights into our questions have saved us so much time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps our recruiting CRM interact with a variety of ATSes.
Leveraging merge for AP/AR @ Acctual has been great!
What do you like best about the product?
Merge was super easy to get started with and very startup friendly. Their team is really knowledgeable about our use case (accounting integrations with QuickBooks/Xero) and provides fixes, improvements, and guidance almost instantly. Our engineering team finds the APIs/sdks simple and straight forward to implement.
The Merge integration is a core part of our product and consistently creates wow moments when we demo our product to new customers.

What do you dislike about the product?
We don't have any dislikes about merge, the team is great at accepting feedback and making improvements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Merge enables our customers to connect their accounting systems to our AP/AR software. We leverage Merge for their QuickBooks and Xero integrations. Merge allows us to write bills, invoices, and contacts to our users' accounting systems, as well as read a wide range of other data such as accounts, supported currencies, and more
Merge.dev is an excellent product, the API is clean and documented
What do you like best about the product?
The clean documentation, the API that is understandable and cozy and the simplicity of use. It took me a few hours to implement. CS team responds quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing scheme was complex to manage and although i understand, it is not easy for a small business to justify that high of a price
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Syncing employee data from multiple HRIS, we dont need to implement each one individually
Excellent Unified API Provider
What do you like best about the product?
We love working with Merge. The Merge product team has clearly invested a lot in product quality, and the customer support team is responsive to us whenever we have customers that have questions around integrations. We use the product every day at our team.
We had a very extensive onboarding process that helped our engineers get onboarded quickly, and we remained in close contact with their team as we onboarded more of our team on how the integrations work.
These integrations has helped unlock a lot of sales conversation and has rapidly accelerated our sales motion. We're glad to be working with the Merge team.
It could not be a more seamless product to utilize.

What do you dislike about the product?
Not a ton comes to mind right now! We got the hang of it very quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had to say no to a lot of prospects before Merge because we didn't have the integrations that they needed. Our business is better thanks to Merge.
Build your integration pipeline once, connect near infinite numbers of providers
What do you like best about the product?
Immense time savings in terms of implementation. Instead of implementing integrations one by one, you can integrate once with Merge and instantly offer a lot of integration to your customers.
Merge has also done the hard work of figuring out some tricky integrations using old technologies such as SOAP, or tricky edge cases.
The dashboard is pretty good with logs of each syncs, ability to turn on and off any integrations, etc. Customer support is top notch, directly embedded in your slack.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes you still have to account for quirkiness of some integrations, meaning that it is not a "100% build once and forget", but it's still a huge time and energy saver versus building everything yourself from scratch for each integration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have to integrate with a lof of different HRIS. Merge has done the hard work for me for most of them.
Merge.dev: Simplifying Integrations with Exceptional Support and Functionality
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Merge.dev's ability to simplify complex integrations through its unified API, which allows seamless connections to various platforms such as HR, payroll, accounting, ticketing, ATS, CRM, SCIM, and directory services.
During our evaluation phase we tested multiple vendors but decided to go with Merge. Besides the functional fit, their customer support team is great, listened to our input, and is very responsive. The implementation of our first integration went pretty well and we became long term customers.
I would definately recomend Merge.

What do you dislike about the product?
Initially, about three years ago, when we first started working with Merge.dev, we encountered some challenges integrating with our target systems due to customizations in those systems. However, over time, Merge.dev resolved these issues, and we've seen continued improvements in their integration capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem Merge solved was helping us avoid dealing with differences between the integrations we needed. Using a single API with a single technology and documentation made a huge difference.
Solid concept with Helpful Documentation and a Supportive Team
What do you like best about the product?
The product shines with its well-organized documentation and user-friendly access for clients, while the internal team’s responsiveness and dedication make a real difference in our experience- shoutout to Matt Ho!
What do you dislike about the product?
The product has a self-serve design, but adding more usability features would make it easier for clients to manage setup independently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The product helps centralize data access for our clients utilizing common HR systems, which reduces some manual effort and streamlines data management.
