Speed up and improve your integrations
What do you like best about the product?
Merge is a great way to make your product handle the diverse integrations needs of your customers. We discovered Merge via its documentation while researching how to improve our native ATS integrations and found exposure to it to improve our own understandings and abstractions and made it a lot easier for us to integrate with more systems.
We were able to load data with it right away and were excited to see various tools (such as logs that don't require an engineer's involvement) that we had wanted for our native ATS integrations.

What do you dislike about the product?
If you have more advanced needs, I recommend signing up for plans that include support. While the documentation is pretty good, I haven't found forums for talking about nuanced implementation details.
We have a shared Slack and their insights into our questions have saved us so much time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps our recruiting CRM interact with a variety of ATSes.
Leveraging merge for AP/AR @ Acctual has been great!
What do you like best about the product?
Merge was super easy to get started with and very startup friendly. Their team is really knowledgeable about our use case (accounting integrations with QuickBooks/Xero) and provides fixes, improvements, and guidance almost instantly. Our engineering team finds the APIs/sdks simple and straight forward to implement.
The Merge integration is a core part of our product and consistently creates wow moments when we demo our product to new customers.

What do you dislike about the product?
We don't have any dislikes about merge, the team is great at accepting feedback and making improvements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Merge enables our customers to connect their accounting systems to our AP/AR software. We leverage Merge for their QuickBooks and Xero integrations. Merge allows us to write bills, invoices, and contacts to our users' accounting systems, as well as read a wide range of other data such as accounts, supported currencies, and more
Merge.dev is an excellent product, the API is clean and documented
What do you like best about the product?
The clean documentation, the API that is understandable and cozy and the simplicity of use. It took me a few hours to implement. CS team responds quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing scheme was complex to manage and although i understand, it is not easy for a small business to justify that high of a price
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Syncing employee data from multiple HRIS, we dont need to implement each one individually
Excellent Unified API Provider
What do you like best about the product?
We love working with Merge. The Merge product team has clearly invested a lot in product quality, and the customer support team is responsive to us whenever we have customers that have questions around integrations. We use the product every day at our team.
We had a very extensive onboarding process that helped our engineers get onboarded quickly, and we remained in close contact with their team as we onboarded more of our team on how the integrations work.
These integrations has helped unlock a lot of sales conversation and has rapidly accelerated our sales motion. We're glad to be working with the Merge team.
It could not be a more seamless product to utilize.

What do you dislike about the product?
Not a ton comes to mind right now! We got the hang of it very quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had to say no to a lot of prospects before Merge because we didn't have the integrations that they needed. Our business is better thanks to Merge.
Build your integration pipeline once, connect near infinite numbers of providers
What do you like best about the product?
Immense time savings in terms of implementation. Instead of implementing integrations one by one, you can integrate once with Merge and instantly offer a lot of integration to your customers.
Merge has also done the hard work of figuring out some tricky integrations using old technologies such as SOAP, or tricky edge cases.
The dashboard is pretty good with logs of each syncs, ability to turn on and off any integrations, etc. Customer support is top notch, directly embedded in your slack.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes you still have to account for quirkiness of some integrations, meaning that it is not a "100% build once and forget", but it's still a huge time and energy saver versus building everything yourself from scratch for each integration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have to integrate with a lof of different HRIS. Merge has done the hard work for me for most of them.
Merge.dev: Simplifying Integrations with Exceptional Support and Functionality
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Merge.dev's ability to simplify complex integrations through its unified API, which allows seamless connections to various platforms such as HR, payroll, accounting, ticketing, ATS, CRM, SCIM, and directory services.
During our evaluation phase we tested multiple vendors but decided to go with Merge. Besides the functional fit, their customer support team is great, listened to our input, and is very responsive. The implementation of our first integration went pretty well and we became long term customers.
I would definately recomend Merge.

What do you dislike about the product?
Initially, about three years ago, when we first started working with Merge.dev, we encountered some challenges integrating with our target systems due to customizations in those systems. However, over time, Merge.dev resolved these issues, and we've seen continued improvements in their integration capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem Merge solved was helping us avoid dealing with differences between the integrations we needed. Using a single API with a single technology and documentation made a huge difference.
Solid concept with Helpful Documentation and a Supportive Team
What do you like best about the product?
The product shines with its well-organized documentation and user-friendly access for clients, while the internal team’s responsiveness and dedication make a real difference in our experience- shoutout to Matt Ho!
What do you dislike about the product?
The product has a self-serve design, but adding more usability features would make it easier for clients to manage setup independently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The product helps centralize data access for our clients utilizing common HR systems, which reduces some manual effort and streamlines data management.
Merge is a great partner with a great product
What do you like best about the product?
We purchase Merge around two years ago since we started needing more integrations then. We were expanding significantly across different regions and the lack of integrations became a big blocker in sales conversations.
We found Merge through an industry contact, and we did POCs with several integrations providers. Merge really stood out and we're glad that we chose them.
Since signing on with Merge, our customer success team has really been dependent on them. Our support team uses Merge's dashboard heavily. Their logs, issues and dashboard have a lot of useful information that helps our CS team troubleshoot our integrations, and this was very difficult before we had Merge.

What do you dislike about the product?
It has been a great experience. There are a few new integrations that we would like to integrate with, and we wish Merge could build them, but understand that the blocker is sandbox access.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Merge helps us add integrations to our product so we can expand across regions. They also help enhance our customer support team that otherwise would be lost when it comes to integrations.
Great concept and feedback-responsive team but not an ideal fit for our needs
What do you like best about the product?
Truly a great concept that should help companies of all sizes both expand and streamline their integration strategy. As a small and hyper-growth company, we looked to Merge to expand our integration strategy.
Overall, their platform UX is clean and easy to use which is especially important given they sit between our platform and our customers. Their documentation has also consistently improved over time and is easy to gidest.
Unfortunately, their Integrations in the ATS space have not matched our precise needs but despite that, we've still been able to utilize their services.
Their team has been responsive to feedback and support issues. With feedback and product roadmap, especially, they've made important updates to their ATS space which are directionally smart and should help both fortify and expand their capabilities, currently.

What do you dislike about the product?
Their ATS integrations have not been able to match our precise needs and has historically had limitations that restrict both us and our customers.
Early implementation was not easy and created friction. Their team was responsive in that time but getting net new integrations set up was not as seamless as expected. Expected for a fast-growing integrations-focused startup.
Filtering in the Logs section of their platform has improved but could do with some much needed improvements. Inability to filter on status is limiting for triaging support needs.

Expanding our baseline.
Merge Review
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful thing about Merge is the fact that we don't have to manage the actual integrations with the accounting systems we're interested in (QBO/Xero). Upsides are quick connection to users' accounting systems, no need to manage keys on behalf of the users, and the ability to sync most writes instantly.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far my experience with Merge has been good. It's able to collect/read/write most of the data I'm interested in to the accounting systems we integrate with (QBO & Xero). However, there have been a handful of times where the documentation indicated support for certain endpoints and it ended up not actually having support for it with the promise of the fix coming within the quarter or following quarter. A lot of the time the promise has been delivered. It would be nice if there was an easier way to setup webhooks programmatically so that we can sync merge accounts on the fly for data written via passthrough.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main way Merge is benefitting us is with the unified nature of the api. We don't have to maintain software to maintain direct integrations with the different accounting software. I like that we can connect to the users' accounts pretty easily and not have to worry about juggling the different datatypes that can get returned from similar calls to the different thrdparty softwares. For example, retrieving a user's contacts can have different response bodies whether I query QBO ro Xero if I were to do it directly, but merge does a good job of normalizing the data into a consistent format so that the differences are abstracted away. Additionally, the SDK is also very helpful so that we don't have to worry about the http calls directly in most cases.
