One of the best Clash Management tool
What do you like best about the product?
As we all know, Navisworks is great with clash detection, but not clash resolution and management. BIM Track allows you to convert those clashes into cloud-based issues that can then be easily managed in the authoring tools for quick and easy resolution. It makes the entire coordination process really easy to manage.
What do you dislike about the product?
If we could use NWC files to create the cloud federated model in addition to IFCs, that would be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Clash management and resolution.
Simple to Integrate
What do you like best about the product?
It is simple to integrate into our existing workflows. VDC manager loves the metrics that come out showing the issues, we use this at all our BIM coordination meetings.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have a difficult time navigating in the model to look at other trade's work in 3D.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's easy to create issues and track when they are resolved.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure everyone understands how it is going to be used.
Issue Tracking during Model AND Document Review
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that BIMTrack has "plugins" for various applications- but isnt specifically dependent on using those applications and plugins- is paramount, for my team: We are BUILDING models (not reviewing them) while reading and reviewing Drawings in PDF form (where the issues originate). The majority of our BIMTrack issues stem from PDF's, but we can use the Revit plugin or web app to input them, and the Revit plugin while reviewing answers and modeling.
Another large upside (to our specific workflow) is that using BIMTrack isnt dependent on a document or model export of any kind: neither the PDF's nor the Models. We CAN leverage the models (when we are in to actual 3D coordination based on our models), but during the initial (main) design review/validation/reconciliation process, there simply is no upside to marrying the issues to a model. And- because we are issuing questions while we review PDF's that are stored elsewhere- hypothetically forcing us to use an issue system married to documents or models is a detriment we are happy to avoid.

What do you dislike about the product?
The Hub user count and licensing structure challenges us (as a very small company, who often needs very large teams on the hub). But it is a minor limitation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a 3rd party project reviewer, we are often creating "issues" that are independent (or sometimes integrated) with the GC/AE's official RFI process. In the past this was done through manual PDF document creation, and coordination. Many hours per week in document tracking and conversation managing are eliminated, using an issue tracking system. The design teams we interact with are sometimes willing to engage in the web app, so we dont have to shuffle documents to them, as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
In the recent months ive compared BIMTrack, the new Autodesk BIM 360 Issue Tracker, and the Procore 3D Coordination Issue Tracker, as well. Feature wise and usability wise, i am the happiest using BIMTrack (i am having to use two of the three on different projects... The Autodesk one isnt fit for purpose, as it ONLY works with one specific file type from Navis, and only married to the BIM360 hub, both of which are not positive attributes).
While i favor BIMTrack, other considerations may be if the party considering already maintains licensing for the other applications. As we work in Bluebeam Studio for PDF's, and dont currently use/subscribe to Procore, using BIMTrack (the better issue tracking software) is a no brainer. My concern is many who already pay for enterprise subscription to Procore may default to it (even if its clunkier and lesser than) out of the convenience factor of it being inside a product they already have.
For Navis users, the integrations is great: Auto creating and grouping issues and creating them on the fly.
For Revit users, there are a lot of interesting things you can do: Including creating issues through the API and Dynamo, from your model.

User Constructabilty Reviews
What do you like best about the product?
Direct integration with our everyday software items. Tekla / Revit / and Navisworks are all constantly open on my PC and when I have an issue to report its a simple click away from adding to BimTrack.
What do you dislike about the product?
Custom formatting for exporting and printing PDF reports. We constantly share information with our internal and external project teams. PDF's are a perfect tool for stamping this moment in time, and looking back at progress.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tons of construct ability reviews. We utilize BIM Track on multiple platforms and multiple projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Involve others in the decision making process when deciding if BIM Track is right for your projects. You will be more successful when implementing if some of the team has already looked into it with you.
Interfaces with Navis and Revit!
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that we can have users scanning and running clash in Navis and I can view those same viewpoints in Revit is huge. No longer looking at the model and trying to verify I am in the same place. Having the clahses assigned is saving time for us to go through all the clashes and rename and place in folders for assigning the resposible or effected parties reduces our time spent on generating reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
If we could generate views for non-clashes. Something that they would like to see modified but isn't a clash would be helpful. But overall this has been very useful not many dislikes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This saves us a lot of time being able to have users in different programs running reports and others fixing them in the other software. We are also tracking the clashes better so we can see how long it is taking to address the issues and see who is or is not taking care of their assignments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I don't think you will find anything that will do what they are doing here. The sorting and assigning of clashes saves time and allows you to track without manually going through and moving items into a resolved folder.
BIM Track is okay
What do you like best about the product?
BIM track is a relatively easy to use software that one can learn relatively quickly. We use it for MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) model coordination purposes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the software is not very intuitive, if you want to get past a baseline understanding, the learning curve is difficult. Since the software is cloud based, there are sometimes synchronizing issues/bugs that are a little frustrating to troubleshoot. If you have good internet speed and a good processor, this may be less of a problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using it in project management MEP coordination has proven useful. There are certainly time/location coordination benefits, similar with any cloud based software.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure that you have someone to train you in person.
Perfect for Constructability Reviews
What do you like best about the product?
Point and click to an object and it brings you back to either revit or naviworks to that exact component.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the formatting issues while trying to export a PDF report could be customized to match current company templates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick and dirty Constructability Reviews, much faster and clean when you are trying to work on multiple projects all together.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If your looking for a well designed and perfect addition to your revit or navisworks constructability review process, this is a perfect option for you.
A must for coordination
What do you like best about the product?
Most people treat clash detection as the first line of defense in coordination but it should be the last line of defense. Using BIM Track during design phase you have an exceptionally clear way of communicating a issue with other design team members. Emails and snap shots can be lost and hard to track. Here you see the issue and can track the issue. Use this internally or externally it saves you time and frustration in looking for an issue. Then when you do get in to clash detection you can add those to the cloud, track and see which trade is having a hard time keep up and cause the most issues. Even though I don't currently use the software at my new company, It will be part of our VDC solution here shortly!
What do you dislike about the product?
Not to much to dislike. The team is pretty good about helping with issues, even with the time delay from east coast to west coast. We did have a problem at first uploaded clashes and it adding the clashes each week with a new number - but the team helped clear that issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication. We have fast turn around times when asking questions of the design team.
