Excellent guided tours. More flexible CTAs would be beneficial.
What do you like best about the product?
We've started using Storylane to help prospective customers see inside our apps without needing to install anything. It's a very easy way to help people see 'under the hood'. Creation of each guided tour has been very straightforward, as has the integration with our website.
What do you dislike about the product?
Increased flexibility around the inclusion of CTAs would be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy Agile apps support team practices, so making a decision to adopt one of our products could mean a change in the way a team works. This isn't done on a whim. I need to be able to demonstrate how our apps work to people who are considering them. Storylane makes it really easy to capture guided tours that help people see what using the app would be like. Even on a campaign landing page, I can include a high-level tour that shows someone how to manage their work using one of our apps in just a few clicks.
Storylane Delivers Personalized Demos and Outstanding Support
What do you like best about the product?
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE STORYLANE!!!! As a Sales Engineer, Storylane is EXCELLENT because it allows me to send personalized presentations to clients. The clients love it because they can view the Storylane's on their own time. I can't say enough about their Support Team. They are always very responsive and helpful. Storylane is AWESOME!!!
What do you dislike about the product?
At this point, I cannot think of anything negative about Storylane. The really check on every box.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storylane is excellent for situations where potential or existing clients are unable to attend lengthy presentations. I really appreciate being able to tailor each Storylane experience to the individual customer. By incorporating their name, business, and specific circumstances, I find that clients become more engaged and their questions are addressed more effectively.
Excellent for Workflow Demos, But Needs More Customizable Controls
What do you like best about the product?
I love how simple it is to demonstrate workflows. The system allows you to get prospects to click through the actual process of your software and get a feel for how it actually works.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few things that could be improved on the control scheme. When using the HTML capture I would like to be able to control the zones that are highlighted instead of only being able to expand to parent cells. I would also like the ability to change hotkeys. Unfortunately one of the hotkeys they used is also a hotkey in our software so I can not use that one without changing the screen I am capturing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to allow customers to see and learn about our product without committing to a live demo. This acts as a hook to drive more demos of our software.
Effortless Click-Through Demos—A Must-Have for Training and Marketing
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating click-through demos. I have used it almost on demand to send follow-ups on a topic covered in a meeting. Letting the prospect "click-through" what we just talked about.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. It's a great tool. I have seen our company fully adapt it for internal and external demonstrations/training, marketing, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have live demo environments where most of our features can be demonstrated; however, these "labs" are live, require a login, and have real-world repercussions if something is executed poorly. With Storylane, the demos and the outcomes of the demos are always consistent. Anyone with a browser can utilize them at any time from just about any device.
The other big area for me where I truly love the Storylane demos I have created is when I'm asked to show/explain a topic that is common across our prospect/customer base. For these types of requests, I have developed Storylanes that can be passed on to the prospect/customer that help them fully understand the feature/workflow and provide them a "guided demo" that they can use as a blueprint within their own environment, many times the Storylane demo stands on its own and we don't have to have meeting to go over the feature/workflow.
The other big area for me where I truly love the Storylane demos I have created is when I'm asked to show/explain a topic that is common across our prospect/customer base. Receiving actionable intent/insights from prospects, fueling intentional and and thoughtful messaging that meets prospective customers where they're at.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could customize and fine tune visuals to make them more engaging.

Storylane makes it super easy to create software demos
What do you like best about the product?
With Storylane, all it takes to create an interactive software demo is to click through your software as you normally would when using it. Storylane captures your screen, analyzes the capture, and creates a multi-step interactive demo, complete with with tool tips and detailed descriptions describing each step. Do a few quick and edits, and your software demo is ready to publish and share! You can also add your own videos or screen grabs to enhance the demo, however, often times you won't need to do that. It's that easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when creating a software demo, Storylane automatically creates so many steps that I find myself going back through to delete many of the steps to help simplify the end result. While this can be time consuming, it's really just a testament to how detailed Storylane's auto analysis is when creating your demo.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storylane simplifies the process of creating software demos, and that makes my job easier. I no longer need to manually do screen captures, choose steps, or write the copy. Storylane does that all for me automatically. It makes demonstrating software for coworkers or customers so much easier!
Intuitive Demo Creation, But Limited Guide Flexibility
What do you like best about the product?
Storylane is mostly intuitive and simple to use. I have been able to create several demos and each one gets easier to make as the ones previously. If this old dog can learn this new skill, so can anyone.
What do you dislike about the product?
The HTML demos have some limitations when it comes to continuous screen captures. They don't handle dropdown menus very well, and it's also not possible to record typing within the demos.

I use this to create on-demand content that allows my customers to complete tasks independently.
Easy to Use with Impressive AI, But Free Plan Is Limited

Effortless demo creation, a great tool!
What do you like best about the product?
Storylane is a very easy to use tool. The process of creating a demo is very simple and straightforward, their AI tool works great at helping improve scripts and narratives, and the voiceover tool is excellent. It has made a great difference for our company. Customer support is very responsive! The demos just work, I've worked with competitors and would'nt go back.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was easier to edit screenshots in the demo creation flow.
Also, even though we can afford to use it, for us a plan upgrade is still too expensive to justify. We would love to use html demos, but we work with screenshots at the moment, which work fine but are less intuitive for final users.

It helps us show feature improvements and launches step by step, simplifying adoption for our users. We have implemented demos in several email campaigns and in our website with great success. Helps a ton with nurturing and onboarding.
