Practical tool for building interactive demos quickly
What do you like best about the product?
Storylane makes it simple to create interactive product demos without needing engineering resources. The drag-and-drop experience is intuitive, and it integrates well into our sales and marketing workflows. It’s especially useful for giving prospects a realistic sense of the product before they engage with a live demo.
What do you dislike about the product?
While effective, the editing experience can sometimes feel limited when trying to customize beyond standard templates. Load times for larger demos could also be improved. Nothing that blocks usage, but there’s room to refine the performance and flexibility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storylane helps us create interactive demos without requiring engineering involvement. This saves our team time and allows us to share realistic product experiences earlier in the sales cycle. It also helps marketing provide a self-serve way for prospects to explore features, which improves engagement and reduces the need for repetitive live demos.
Intuitive and time-saving
What do you like best about the product?
Storylane is very quick to learn and intuitive to use. I appreciate how interactive the demos are and how easily they engage viewers. The analytics are especially valuable; being able to track where each viewer came from through different links provides actionable insights and has saved me a lot of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Adding videos can sometimes be tricky, and the automated screenshot feature can create far too many slides at once, which makes it a bit tedious to go through and clean up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storylane allows us to create demos quickly and efficiently, which helps our leads better understand our platform during the sales process. It’s also a great resource for educating existing clients, making it easier for them to learn how to use our product effectively. This saves our team significant time and improves lead engagement.
Fun to use, and really helpful support
What do you like best about the product?
The final product for Storylane looks amazing. Our CEO had created a demo, and after seeing it, I asked for access because I'm in charge of providing training videos. I thought that would look a lot more professional (and simpler to make and easier to modify) than me doing the verbal walk-throughs I'd been doing for years.
The support team is also incredible. There are a lot of Help Center articles, and as a result, the AI chatbot does a great job of getting you a detailed answer quickly. It understands what you're talking about very well. Also, when there was something that I needed help from a human, they were very responsive as well. Almost any time I had the tiniest problem, I checked with the chatbot immediately rather than spending time searching the Help Center or trying to figure it out myself.

It understands what you're talking about very well. Also, when there was something that I needed help from a human, they were very responsive as well. What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't like the options for editing a background. For example, you can use "blur" but it doesn't look like a blur; it looks like just putting a gray box over it, which I didn't like. You can crop it, but when I tried to do that, it said "Changing the first step's size sets the default for all steps in a demo" and I wasn't sure what that meant, so I didn't do it. The text sizing for Annotate is bizarre. I needed to use extra small or small just to look normal. I can't imagine ever needing to use extra large.
I also wish there was version history so that I could revert to a previous version and get rid of all my changes since a certain time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I previously had been doing customized training walkthroughs for every client that we onboarded. Our product has a lot of small variations, so I basically needed to re-record the video each time. Storylane makes it easier for me to have a basic skeleton of the walkthrough and then easily modify it to remove the sections that aren't relevant and to add custom links relevant to that client.
Incredibly easy to use, edit and add additional pieces
What do you like best about the product?
The interactive piece is nice to enable customer to visualize the exact process while "interacting" with our site. While we still use videos for certain trainings, Storylane has been great for some of our more manual, jumping-around type of processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does not embed the interactive version of itself into our help center articles - we must hyperlink to our Storylane page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storylane allows us to create a step-by-step, interactive guide to supplement our video and text guides, giving our customers options which fit how they learn best!
Effective Guided Demos for Sales and Marketing
What do you like best about the product?
We've used Storylane to embed demo links in marketing content, run live demos of iOS features on the web, and send as follow up links after a presentation. Without a sandbox or production environment to share with a prospect, Storylane has been a pivotal part of our GTM process.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some compexity in set up and design for each click through demo but easy once you get the hang of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves several problems. Primarily providing us a mechanism for prospects to play around with the admin features without being able to provide a sandbox. We also use Storylane for leave behind collateral post demo and embed demo links in marketing content

It's easy to use, makes great demos, I can see how often people engage with my demos, and I can make multiple demos easily depending on the use case

I can't think of anything at the moment.

Explaining your product can many times be difficult. Storylane allows you to create demos that clearly show how valuable your product is.

It is really easy to guide users through the sites. The translation feature is really nice too.

No dislikes so far. Although would love to be able to screenshot in apps.

To get custom forms we need to subscribe Growth plan which is expensive compared starter plan.

The ability to run through a demo and have it automatically capture screenshots, clicks, and hot spots in the demo.
The AI tool also gives a good starting point for demo narratives. Generally you start with the AI, refine, re-run it through AI and refine one more time.

What do you dislike about the product?
Downsides are minor, but would like email notifications when a user has viewed the system, and a little easier way to integrate video while recording a demo. But both issues have systems that make these things small issues.

Creating demos and tutorials in a speedy way. Has reduced the time it takes to create a professional looking demo by at least 10x

As a creator, I noticed some issues during the demo creation. After completing it, the demo didn’t open a new tab as expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rather than creating lengthy, monotonous videos, using clickable demos with tooltips is an excellent way to convey messages. This approach is highly valued and appreciated by the field
