Ramp Pros/Cons

  • June 30, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the integration with Quickbooks and the ability for our managers to send in their receipts immediately. Also, I love the reminder button! The way it is set up so that we can see exactly what was spent and how much as soon as we log on is a big plus. Also, the cash back is a great way to save.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not too fond of the banking connection. It seems like we have to reconnect our bank accounts often. Also, we have several users and keeping up with/changing phone numbers can be a hassle when we have turnover.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the problem of losing receipts by getting receipts turned in as soon as the card is ran. It is so simple to send them in, and the instant reminder is fantastic. The monthly reconciliation is much easier and catching employee theft has also been a plus. The benefits of Ramp far outweigh anything that we do not like.

I have no idea why you would use any other card

What do you like best about the product?
Ramp is designed as cards should be designed. The software just works and looks like it was designed & made this year, vs last century like Amex. The CS is fast and delightful. It just works. Oh, and they found us $24K in savings/deals from their portal, literally no other card does this.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cashback (1.5%) is flat - sometimes individual categories can get higher cashback on other cards, but in aggregate we get more back using 1.5% flat across everything (especially with our cloud/ad spend).

No travel portal yet. We had to go back to Amex to book a large company-wide trip.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a flexible corporate spending & expense tracking solution for our 75+ person company. Brex didn't cut it.

easier than I could have imagined

What do you like best about the product?
I thought my previous credit card service was top tier, but Ramp has stomped all over it. The rebate is better, the cardholder experience is amazing, the setup was simple and the accounting process blows my mind. We can mark transactions as "ready." The best part: when we do the import, the "ready" transactions will export in excel for me (we don't use one of the integrated accounting software packages). The "not ready" transactions will still be there and will export when I mark them as ready. The time my staff spends is cut by at least half and we can importa transactions every week instead of once a month, improving our spend visibility in our financial statements. The expense reimbursement process is also pretty slick.
What do you dislike about the product?
We can't see level III data yet, but developers are looking into this for a future enhancement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ramp is improving our rebate, saving time across the process chain (cardholders/accounting). We also have a higher credit limit than we did with our bank. We are using virtual cards now also. We can have a virtual card for each different merchant if we want and set card rules for that card (transaction limits, accounting classes, etc.) If we were to have fraud on a card, we don't have to change the card on file in 200 places, only with that merchant.

Great experience, easy integration with Quickbooks

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Seamless integration, no nonsense cash back, reimbursement feature a plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Needs more customization on default incoming categories. Still missing functionality to selectively pay off specific cards from different banking sources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Accounting headaches and tracking insight is a must for us. Ramp is helping us get there, in a super easy way
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Beats Brex out of the water!

What do you like best about the product?
Matching for accounting reconciliation is excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
That it is only a charge card and must be paid by direct ACH from the bank.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to put daily limits on usage by card.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The card is unique in it's controls and we really enjoy using it for our company

Simplifies so much of our accounting for everyone in the company

  • June 29, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Anyone can text or email their receipts, and Ramp automatically attaches them to the charge. This is so fast and easy for every employee, and then accounting has significantly less work to do around categorizing, storing receipts, and tracking budgets.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far! We've been very happy with every aspect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saved time for everyone! It also helps us monitor our SaaS spend - metering so that we don't get over-charged unexpectedly and also ending payments after a certain time period.

Fast, simple and our team LOVES it!

What do you like best about the product?
The integration of both credit cards and expense management is a killer value proposition.
This makes all our spend management so easy to track!
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, nothing right now. The integration with QBO took some getting used to it to integrate at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were looking for a one-stop-shop for all our expense management and tracking of our spends across teams, and we've found it with Ramp!

Spend Management Done Right

  • June 28, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ramp stands out from other corporate credit cards because they don't gamify their platform to incentivize you to spend more. They're super quick on support & their team has reached out to make sure I'm taking full advantage of their copious savings on software. Great tool if you want to maximize savings.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ramp may not have the craziest cashback rewards - which isn't what we were looking for in a corporate card. If you are optimizing for that & gaming rewards points, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were using personal credit cards for corporate software before setting up with Ramp and haphazardly sending receipts to Google Drive. Now we're able to control spend with virtual cards, have visibility into our budget, and quickly sent receipts via text or email to Ramp to auto recognize. Total game changer!

Ramp is the Expense Management platform that you need!

  • June 28, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to set up automatic accounting rules! You can do it by vendor, card, or even person-- I really enjoy that because it saves me time on accounting for nitty-gritty repeat transactions, and I don't need to enter anything at all!
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, there's not much to dislike-- if pressed, I'd have to say it's the vendor-matching. Sometimes Ramp will get confused and automatically match their internal vendor list to a transaction for something that isn't actually related (ex: there's two Guru companies, Ramp can't differentiate between them). In order to make changes, you have to "flag" the vendor and email support-- this workflow could definitely be improved. It doesn't really happen all that often-- we're processing hundreds of transactions and honestly we've seen this issue with < 5 vendors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's enabling us to automate our spend management-- we can even use Slack for the workflows! It's easy and intuitive to use for me as a finance/ops person.

I'm saving time categorizing things, and being able to just point folks towards Ramp for their spend and approvals saves me a ton of time. There haven't been any issues with exporting data either-- which we've experienced with some competitors.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Weigh your options, but I really enjoyed their sales team, onboarding team, and their continued CS team!

Easy, intuitive expensing with helpful reminders to keep track of payments

  • June 25, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the text/SMS and email reminders for filing receipts. Matching is almost instant which is helpful. Being able to match receipts with purchases in the moment helps to alleviate the long term burden of expensing and means you don't have to hold onto receipts for so long! It also provides a digital paper trail of expenses including the receipts themselves, which helps my own team to track our budget internally. There is a lot of visibility across administrators and when a receipt is missing it's there for all team members to be able to see and remind one another. I have found it is also easy to add team members and to adjust monthly spend limits when needed and the update is also nearly instantly reflected. The virtual card is useful especially when you're waiting for a new card to arrive in the mail (which also doesn't take long at all)!
What do you dislike about the product?
It is difficult to think of any negative aspect of using Ramp. But something that could be useful would be a notification feature for reminders when approaching one's spend limit. This would help with budgetary tracking and could prevent a situation of a card being declined before it happens.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can't think of anything more genius than corporate card payments, spend control, and budget tracking all wrapped up in one simple solution. I was recently surprised to learn about more benefits such as a cash-back feature and Ramp integration with Quickbooks as well as Zero, so I definitely look forward to delving deeper and maximizing my team's usage of Ramp.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would absolutely recommend Ramp to anyone, especially to startups looking for a simple solution that is quick to onboard. I think it's better than any other solution I've used because of its easy UI, useful integrations, and rapid receipt matching mechanism.
