The lynchpin of security operations
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and time to effectiveness for new users is insanely low. Their customer support is second to none, and its used continuously and constantly in our environment. The low/no code format of the platform allows me to quickly spin up demos and POCs of more complicated work, and the configuration by code keeps us honest.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like Tines to implement FEDRamp capabilities to alleviate the burden of self hosting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It takes the arduous tasks that I normally would need hundreds of lines of Python to run on compliant infrastructure.
Automation for cybersecurity and business process improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Tines' automation platform is a fantastic way for any professional to begin learning more about automation. Tines is flexible in that it can integrate with just about anything that has an API, while being fairly straight forward to use. Tines is one of those things that you get out of it what you put into it. If you learn the tool and the options available to you, the automation opportunities available to you are almost limitless. It is not only great for cybersecurity teams who are likely already undersized and drowning in alerts, but also for the business at large. Tines' pages are a great way to take the old "fill out the spreadsheet and mail it" workflow and bring it into the 21st century.
I cannot recommend Tines enough.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasional UI bugs, but the engineers are typically quick to address issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cybersecurity and business process.
The Value of Tines after a year
What do you like best about the product?
I love the no code features such as the Automatic mode for event transformation actions. The Automatic mode uses genAI to generate the Python code to slice and dice upstream data or data saved to a Tines Resource. Another reason is ease of implementation. A security analyst can create Tines workflows without the need a Comp Sci degree or a high level of proficiency in coding. In a timely manner, an analyst can create robust workflows and applications using Tines pages to block IOCs in our entire security stack using one webform or ingesting IOCs via a webhook. In addition, Tines workflows manage the entire IOC lifecycle, so Tines can sunset stale IOCs without cyber teams keeping track of IOCs. Another reason why I love Tines is the ease of integration. Tines possesses an ever-growing library of pre-built stories and vendor templates, that an analyst can use to quickly ingest data into a Tines workflow from any vendor that has a REST API.
Tines' onboarding experience, technical support and customer success teams are the best. Any roadblocks or technical issues were addressed in a timely manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
After a year, I have not come across something I could not accomplish in Tines.
From IOC blocking to EDR licensing reports for management, Tines is able to do it all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In Security Operations, it is challenging to manage the life cycle of indicators of compromise (IOCs). Tines solves that with automatic workflows that track IOCs from submission/ingestion date to sunsetting.
Another problem facing cybersecurity teams is long development cycles. With Tines, an analyst can quickly go through different iterations of a workflow to test which is the best way to accomplish a task.
Great, fun product that saves a lot of time
What do you like best about the product?
The user friendly experience, no-code UI and customer support with building
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found anything notably dislikable about Tines so far
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's significantly improving efficiency and reducing manual hours spent on repeated tasks.
Fantastic SOAR and Workflow Automation Tool, and the Best Customer Support
What do you like best about the product?
Incredible tool for automation and case management. Tines was incredibly easy to pick up and start implementing solutions with. The ability to rapidly create custom action templates allowed us to easily integrate with all of our unique tooling, and the Customer Support was absolutely phenomenal, and turned around a new integration for us in 36 hours while we were doing a POC with them. Since then, the support has continued to be stellar, and the rate at which they are adding functionality to the platform is incredible. I am in Tines nearly every day just seeing what new things have been added and working on streamlining our stories. The Tines Certification programs are fantastic for getting up to speed, and their robust library of documentation makes creating new stories super easy. Of course, a big highlight as well is the excellent library of pre-made solutions, especially since you can import a solution and then customize it to integrate with your tools instead.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tines pricing model makes it difficult for very small organizations to take advantage of it, but the free community tier does mitigate this somewhat.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tines lets us take all of our scattered security, governance, compliance, workflow, access, and management tools and data and connect them to each other, giving us not "a single pane of glass", but instead making sure that every pane of glass is telling the same story. Tines also enables us to quickly build, test, quality check, and deploy small, time-saving automations that help our team multiply our effectiveness and reduce the load on our small team.
Best Security Automation Software Out There
What do you like best about the product?
Tines is incredibly easy to use, even without a coding background. If a native integration doesn't exist, simply paste a cURL command and it'll be turned into a visual action block directly. It's very easy to implement, and the customer support replies promptly and is always helpful. We use tines every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
Interacting with GraphQL APIs is a bit more tricky, as tines doesn't do well with native query building, in my opinion. Building the query in a different application, however, and then copying it over into tines, mitigates that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Tines mainly for two projects: Vulnerability Management and Security Operations. For vulnerability management, Tines helps us triage, enrich and sync vulnerabilities between different scanners and Jira. For Security Operations, we use Tines for various workflows.
automation made easy and fast
What do you like best about the product?
It makes automation of any kind of task very easy. We use it for many tasks, from simple alerting and cronjobs to complex flows that require multiple tools with data parsing in between. It makes sending and receiving web requests very accessible for any kind of service you use. It only needs an api target and the automation can start running. The documentation is very helpful with examples and prebuilt flows you can start from. Their support is eager to help no matter how trivial your problem may be.
What do you dislike about the product?
They release features faster than they get documentented! :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes interation with the various tools we use (gathering, parsing and sending data) very easy and also alerts management with Cases feature.
Great Product for Creating Custom solutions to address security gaps
What do you like best about the product?
Customer Support, example stories and good templates to start with. Tines has been instrumental in solving security problems and creating solutions with existing tools using their API. Customer support wend needed is top tier!
What do you dislike about the product?
AI features could use more polishing. Similar prompts then to return inconsistent results. More options to run Stories on a schedule.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tines has addressed vulnerability management, Idententiy Management, two-factor authentication, Zendesk sanitization and more.
Automation simplifies workflows with no code and excellent support
What is our primary use case?
I am Vikram Singh, I work for top service based multinational brand and I am responsible for delivering Tines services. Essentially, I am working on it, and I am leading one of the source services for a client who uses Tines.
What is most valuable?
The best advantage is the no-code automation, excellent customer support services, and ease of integration with other tools. API integration simplifies the process. It is very compatible to integrate with other tools. We are utilizing Tines for various automation like incident creation, IOC enrichment, IOC blocking, and containment of various other automations. It helps in streamlining our security operations effectively and efficiently without requiring coding knowledge. Tines almost saves about one hour of effort because it automates numerous tasks that would otherwise be performed manually.
What needs improvement?
Reporting and dashboards could be more advanced for deeper analysis. Tines has its own dashboard, which displays information like how many stories have been created and how many automations have taken place. However, the reporting and dashboard are not advanced; they are quite basic, with fewer customizable options. The look and feel of the dashboard could be enhanced. Another area for improvement is in terms of documentation, as every tool and company has its own knowledge base.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Tines for more than one and a half years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The accuracy is very good, with very little downtime, and the tool is stable up to ninety-nine point nine percent.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solutions are very scalable and adaptable.
How are customer service and support?
The support and engineering team is quick to resolve bugs and respond promptly, showing great scalability.
How would you rate customer service and support?
How was the initial setup?
I rate Tines a nine out of ten due to the exceptional support. As a managed service, we were not directly involved, but when Tines was deployed, the support was outstanding. The team first understood the environment and quickly overcame technical limitations, deploying the solution efficiently.
What about the implementation team?
I was not part of the implementation because a different expert team from Tines was engaged. However, the Tines team was integral to the process, while we were on the support side.
What other advice do I have?
When you start working with Tines, ensure you pursue the Tines certifications. They offer these free certifications when they become your partner. Overall, I would rate Tines a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
truly accessible automation
What do you like best about the product?
Tines has made it easy to automate tasks to ensure they are done in reliable and repeatable ways with simple API integrations. I have used Tines to automate countless tasks from enriching information to eliminating manual ticketing processes. Tines allows me to ensure that people are doing valuable work. The thing that makes Tines unique is its community mindset, and the desire of that community to share ideas.
What do you dislike about the product?
I frankly can't think of anything I dislike about Tines because I have not yet found something that I could not automate with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tines allows us to eliminate fragile manual tasks to ensure they are done consistent and measurable ways. We use it for ticket encrichment, employee self-service of takss like checking compliance training status, understanding whether traffic is being blocked, submitting infrastructure as code changes through forms, to risk register entry creation. The opportuntiies for automation through Tines are limited by your imagination and the number of stories you are licensed for.
