Sophisticated TMS platform with top-notch technical integration options
What do you like best about the product?
Knowledgeable and responsive support team, and solid integrations with other parts of our tech stack (WordPress, Marketo, Contentful, GitHub). Once you understand the complexity, there are a lot of very powerful options available. This is definitely a platform that can support our localization needs far into the future as we grow.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboard is overly complex (they're working on it...) and some parts seem designed specifically for users of the GDN service. Documentation could be more robust — some docs are great, but others (especially the technical ones) are less comprehensive and don't match up well with what's available from others in the market (e.g., Localize.js).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Localizing our product and marketing campaigns so that we can successfully enter international markets. We've just started the process, but so far Smartling has been a critical part of keeping things centralized and efficient.
Makes localization easier and efficient
What do you like best about the product?
Smartling is probably one of the most intuitive TMS tools in the market at the moment. In context review functionality definitely helps with localization quality for both linguists and in-house reviewers. Localization is tough but Smartling makes things possible with their awesome product and even better customer support!
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the functionality are confusing to first time users. There is definitely a learning curve to overcome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing localization for multiple markets with limited resources. Easy to use tool allows anyone within the company to help review content fast without major training session.
When translation becomes easy
What do you like best about the product?
The way to manage multiple languages, projects, and translators in one place. Smartling's team is also always adding new features and improvements. I also like their regular webinars who help us stay on top of the new features and trends in the industry.
What do you dislike about the product?
All the different steps we sometimes need to repeat to achieve one goal. The fact that they're not offering anymore the Over-the-air feature for mobile translations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing our localization and translation process. It's easy to assign translation jobs to vendors, maintain consistency with our Translation Memory and having a connector with Wordpress.

Smartling is easy to use, and the team is always very reactive and available.

What do you like best about the product?
The best part of Smartling is how willing the team is to help us customize and improve the product for our company’s needs. Shout out to Aisling and Bernard for being so patient with me and always going above and beyond.

I feel it is not always the best at searching for strings/jobs. I’ll know the exact string of job name I need and nothing will pop up.

What do you like best about the product?
We have leveraged Smartling to acquire new users all around the world. It has been a great tool to grow our search channels and acquisition flows and the team is great in helping us find the right solutions to our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a steep learning curve but it has been great once you understand how the Smartling interacts with your systems.

User acquisition, product usage and retention.
Great software
What do you like best about the product?
I love the user interface and UX. Very easy and straightforward to use and easy to navigate. The system is also very reliable. Very few bugs and little downtime. The support we’ve gotten from Smartling is also amazing. Our customer success manager is super helpful and fast to respond.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it supported a better integration with sales force. Some of our content is located in sales force and it would be great if there was a better way to pull that content into Smartling and translate it there. Instead, we have to rely on a different vendor for sales force localization.

The limitations to the system such as rate limiting and limited number of jobs that you can create at once weren’t clearly communicated at the beginning of the planning process

What do you like best about the product?
Our personal account manager is so helpful and quick to respond to any questions. The tools in the product will help automate the translation of all of our apps in 25 different languages.
What do you dislike about the product?
the review process has been something that I have had a hard time wrapping my mind around....when to complete it, which strings to review...etc

We are able to send our product into so many different countries and cultures all around the globe.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartling has been great to work with. They have strong technical solutions with a customer-first mindset.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing material yet. There have been occasional integration hiccups as expected but they have been responsive and collaborative.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They serve as our TMS. We are beginning to take advantage of their other tooling like visual context.
