I like Smartling over all

What do you like best about the product?
I like the TM, and the search tool. I think they are very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first SL was not intuitive, but there have been some updates. I still think it's not the most intuitive tool, and there are some features I would improve. I would improve the search and modifying a great number of terms thought the search for example. and I would improve the TM, in a way that sometimes i make changes on translations, and then the same sentence appears again in another job, and the smart match doesn't remember all of the options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps manage big and small translations jobs for the company, , especially when I have to QA translations made by other people.b

What do you like best about the product?
You can assign different roles on the smartling dashboard.
Check the progress of the translation and it's status.
Customize the notifications you receive via email.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform requires education prior to start using it, not the easiest to use without any background information. It's a complex dashboard. We had ton's of questions, sometimes the help centre online did not have answers to our questions. However, the customer support team was holding our hand the entire time to make sure we were comfortable with the platform and answered all of our questions!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team was looking to streamline the way they were doing translations. We have 3 main languages, English, French and German. Smartling allows us to view the process from start to finish (from uploading the requested document to reviewing and to final document) all in one dashboard.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
1. Make sure you have an outlined plan of the workflow you'd like to set up

What do you like best about the product?
The first thing and the most important thing is the trustful relationship we have built with our Smartling Project Manager and our Smartling Customer Success Manager thanks to daily communications, weekly syncs and bi-annual check-in.

What I appreciate most about Smartling is the inherent flexibility the platform provides. The SLS Team efficiently localizes all our content using automated workflows, making the process remarkably easy, swift, and cost-effective.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartling is evolving constantly, offering always new features, new connectors. So what I dislike about Smartling is nothing!

I don't have enough time to keep up with its continuous evolution, but I keep updated thanks to my Smartling Customer Success Manager.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
100% of our content at Rover is localized through Smartling. It's impressive because we are talking about almost every type of content: blog post, macros, CRM email marketing, help center articles, web/ios and android content. We just built a new project as well to transcreate youtube Rover videos. It's very exciting!

What do you like best about the product?
I like the 'Translation management system' of smartling. It is quite good and it is very easy to manage all translation projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing bad about smartling. But sometimes we feel like a lot to know more to use this tool which I don't like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a lot of projects to store and manage. For that smartling is the best solution. We found smartling has many advantages and options to manage and also for analytics purpose.That's why I use this.

I like the responsive support team and web-based tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the initial translations are a bit off but get better over time. It's a common problem among loc platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are creating localized marketing collateral.

What do you like best about the product?
The TM, Fuzzy system, and the User Interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing specific. Sometimes it takes time for the tool to submit the work and show the words count.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Matching is the best thing in Smartling. That's a problem I believe it helps me solve.

Smartling is a robust, organized, scaleable TMS--and it's exactly what you need

What do you like best about the product?
Smartling has streamlined our translation process and increased our efficiency while enabling us to scale at a moment's notice. Before Smartling, I was managing translations and localizations for 5 countries via spreadsheets and Sharepoint folders. It was a mess. The Smartling team helped us set up a Drupal connector to our website, showed us how to onboard our internal translators, and gave us the reporting tools to measure our effectiveness. Their team is great and responsive, the software saves us time and money, and it keeps our internal translators happy. It's really like having another employee that just manages the translation process.
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been some hiccups in getting the connector to our CMS working perfectly, and some of our custom fields don't really work well with the translations system, but our situation is pretty unique.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've definitely become more organized in the management of our international sites and developed an easy-to access-database of all of our translated content. Onboarding new employees is easy and we are prepared to scale whenever we need to.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have a detailed rollout plan for translation needs so that you can fully utilize the software once it's ready to go. You can process a lot more content using this program and it goes a lot faster than you'd think. Check if they have a connector to your CMS and take advantage of all the integrations they have with other marketing programs like Marketo, Adobe, and more. It takes a bit to set up, but it saves time in the long run.

What do you like best about the product?
Once Smartling is set up there is little oversight required.
What do you dislike about the product?
For more complex websites, depending on the set up, some text/data may not translate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With the help of Smartling, we have been able to have our website translated to Spanish.

What do you like best about the product?
The product is fantastic. The Smartling teams are knowledgeable and helpful.

Smartling could take a more proactive approach to challenging the client and helpinng them innovate and improve their workflows

We use Smartling as the TMS for product and marketing localization. We have realized TM savings and provided our translators with a great tool. We have also appreciated using Smartling language and managed services. Smartling is becoming a holistic partner that can solve several problems for its customers.

What do you like best about the product?
The CSMs I've worked with have been consistently amazing. Not only were they knowledgeable about the product, they always went above and beyond to try and get us the solution we needed, looping in additional resources and support teams. The TMS product itself has been evolving over the years into a much more intuitive and fluid experience, which is greatly appreciated.
What do you dislike about the product?
Workflow assignment can be a bit disconnected and clunky at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've taken advantage of multiple connectors that Smartling provides as well as API integrations in order to localize various parts of our product. Setup was fairly simple, and there is little to no upkeep required.
