Easy to use, great technology and amazing customer service

What do you like best about the product?
The platform is great, you have everything you need to manage your projects in one single place, it's very intuitive and you can add as many members of your team as you'd like. The GDN is a great way of localizaing a website.
What do you dislike about the product?
The charging model might not be adequate for all customers and when you're adding new members to the team you need to go to several different pages to make sure they are assigned to a project, that could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are localizing mostly all of our marketing content through Smartling. The GDN system works great for us and allow us to swap content for the localized websites and also creates a very smooth workflow when adding new content. It accepts basically all of the file types we work with and it has a great Glossary and Trasnlation Memory embedded in the platform.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's easy to use and onboard your projects.

What do you like best about the product?
Smartling is very easy to use. This is a great TMS for website localization as users can utilize Smartling's features inside and outside the CAT Tool. Highly recommended.
What do you dislike about the product?
When utilizing Smartling for website localization, the "edit mode 1" feature is ideal when making small fixes directly on a webpage. This feature can be improved for moving tags, formatting changes, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartling is a great TMS for populating your translations on a webpage in real-time. Great for website localization. I would highly recommend this TMS to any company searching for one.

What do you like best about the product?
Their tailor-fitted approach to both projects within Smartling as well as repository connectors are seamless and quickly integrated.
What do you dislike about the product?
Reporting can sometimes be a hassle just in that some reports already included in Smartling are basic but quickly upgraded after reaching out to Kelly our customer care rep.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previous to Smartling we were not using a Translation Management System. With Smartling we are easily able to import work and store translations in our TM. This helps vastly improve our time to market with any new releases.

What do you like best about the product?
Great API for automating the translation process. Flexible, definable file formats. Fast, high-quality translations from Smartling Language Services. Responsive and helpful support.

I've never had a workflow or any functionality I wanted from Smartling that I couldn't accomplish, even though sometimes it takes some back and forth.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI could be more intuitive. I sometimes have to make videos to show coworkers how to do things. They could use more documentation about the different user roles and how they interact. eg, Translation Resources can only claim entire jobs. If you want to divide a job among translation resources, you need a Translation Manager role to split it up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're doing continuous translation of a rapidly developing web application. The most important thing is being able to automate/streamline the translation process to get translations for updated strings back into the app as soon as possible. The smartling API has been key for this.

Friendly team and an excellent all-in-one translation tool!

What do you like best about the product?
Smartling is a tool that I have used as a Localization Manager in three different companies, and I always suggest it to colleagues who are looking for a new translation tool. The team I'm working with is always super helpful and ready to help us with any issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only issue is that we would love the opportunity to have a staging server or somewhere we can test or QA published translations from the GDN. It would also be helpful to be able to have more resources for crowd-sourced or volunteer translation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main benefit is being able to use the GDN and easily upload our updated translations into our apps and website, which would be much more labor-intensive without it. We also love that the CAT tool is built in.

What do you like best about the product?
The tool is easy to use and has useful features like visual context, cost estimates, string changes reports, etc. Our account manager and solution architect are very responsive and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboard (jobs page) is a bit difficult to navigate especially when there are more than 50 jobs. When the view is expanded, you click into one job and go back to the jobs page again, you'll have to click on view all jobs again for the 50+ jobs to be displayed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Once our content management systems are fully integrated with Smartling, we can easily find a string in Smartling, make update, and then it'll be published back to our system which would save a lot of time and the update will be save in the TM.
After using Smartling with our localization projects, our translations are more consistent and the time it takes to translate is reduced.

What do you like best about the product?
The upsides are the really helpful customer support team that Smartling has. Our success lead and our technical point person have been extremely attentive through our onboarding process.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some features I'd like Smartling to develop soon, like a more forward way to see what projects are assigned to what linguists, and better internal communication system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're solving many problems that have arisen from integrating our current CMS and language platforms with Smartling and incorporating the visualization component.

What do you like best about the product?
Tms always evolving and providing new features. Very attentive to clients' needs. Integration with the most popular softwares in the industry.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface is old, which bring a poor experience to the clients.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The integration with our development department is almost smoothness saving us time on the release of new features to production.
