Smartling is one of the better web translation tools
What do you like best about the product?
The inbuilt MT system is a huge plus. The interface is quite pleasant.
What do you dislike about the product?
Checking the TM and the termbase could be much more fluent. Oftentimes the QA in Finnish does not work too well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For me, it's just a web translation tool among others.

Ease of use, the richness of features, good customer service and good support for the Arabic language.

High CPU/RAM usage, weird shortcuts, and some rare bugs.

Smartling is a CAT tool, it helps in dividing workflow and makes translation easier by using functions like TM and Glossaries.

What do you like best about the product?
The shortcut keys can be changed to be more comfortable according to what I am using more at the moment.
What do you dislike about the product?
The spelling and grammar corrector in Portuguese is not good.

I've been doing some subtitle translations lately, and work has been smooth and stress-free.
User-friendly and efficient localization platform
What do you like best about the product?
The translation editor is easy to use and convenient, as well as the project dashboard and management options. Also, I like the fact that it is a web-based platform, since I can work anywhere. It lets you get hands-on on the task pretty quickly thanks to its localization features and you can easily access the glossary, style guide, context visualization, attachments, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not the best CAT tool, a bit simple interface. It would be great if context and search TM results could be displayed at the same time in parallel or something (instead of having to switch tabs all the time or to open them in a new window). I miss more search, search TM, filter and QA options too, but they are improving little by little and adding new features every year.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The context view allows me to see how translations will look and where will they appear so I can provide the best translation. Also the implementation of new features (like AI Foundation) is very helpful and I can contribute to make it a better tool.
Uniquely impressive service in a very valuable area of online content
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to track progress of a tranlsation job, easy to receive notifications for issues and to respond. Easy integration with a CLI makes for pleasing developer experience. Easy to collaborate on a large team submitting high volume of total translations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The web interface can feel a llittle cluttered sometimes. It is slightly tedious to deal with small mistakes when working at a high volume of translations, not entirely clear whether I'm paying for a canceled job or not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to collaborate on a large team submitting a high volume of total translations. We submit a high volume of translations and they are rarely, if ever, the bottleneck. The ability to keep an allowlist and translate asynchronously is also a perk when our team is in tight spots timing-wise.
Smartling's customer support is excellent and they offer flexible solutions.
What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about smartling you have a good overview of the different projects. You can maintain the glossary and provide additional information for translators. If there are problems with the translation, translators can contact you directly, which solves the problem quickly. Financially it is very helpful for our company that we only pay for the software when we use it: we have times in which we need a lot of translations and also times where we don't need them at all.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when technical things change in the smartling system or you want to change things yourself like workflows, it's not as intuitive as I would like to be so I need to contact support to double check. I guess it's because Smartling is a bit more complex than other providers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to contact freelancers ourselves, but with smartling we don't have to do the project management anymore - this saves us a huge amount of time. It is especially good for rare languages, because you can make sure that the translation will be delivered on time with good quality.

What do you like best about the product?
Complete automation of the translations and reviews of translations and bring translators and IT together.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing specifically. I don't see any major problems with using smartling and I recommend it for all businesses.

Getting source string to translators and getting back the translations automatically from them seamlessly.

It's an all in all product for your translation needs from end to end. Definitely recommend it for all businesses that require quicker translations with complete automation and less manual intervention and minimal human errors.
No loss in translation - Smartling is a must when communicating in multiple languages
What do you like best about the product?
We have always been impressed by how easy the service translates our web pages into multiple languages. The team walked us through the process with ease and helped us communicate with our agency on how the overlay process worked when we upgraded our website.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have not experienced any downsides with the machine translation service. It is helpful knowing that if we wanted to have a specific body of words translated by a native speaker, that option is available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We sell our products around the world and we wanted to make our shipping experience as easy as possible even for those that do not use English as their business language. Smartling solved this issue for us.
