What do you like best about the product?
The customer support and training, and online help are excellent. Being able to tailor customer needs and solve problems for me promptly is the most appreciated. The best customer service!
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to attend 2 or 3 days of training courses to learn Smartling systematically. I like to know more about the Contentful connector.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing my translation projects, notifications, reviewer, translators, and memories. It saves me time and made my job easy. Speed up turnaround time and the translation process become transparent

What do you like best about the product?
Using Smartling is straight-forward, once you get the hang of it. I appreciate it allows spaces and characters in the submitted job titles. I like the 'jobs' section where I can see all my submitted and processing jobs in one place, rather than me trying to find them another way. Smartling's Associates are helpful and available when needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find Smartling's search function is lacking when I need to select my piece of content to be translated. I have found a workaround by editing that content and then choosing to search by 'last modified'. I also dislike that if there's an error with my translation once I submit it, Smartling doesn't provide any guidance as to what that error is so I can fix it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company content contains dynamic content to be shared in 8 different languages. Smartling allows us to have professional translations managed, in accordance with industry standard.

What do you like best about the product?
The part I find most helpful is the wide range of connectors that Smartling offers, this make the process of localization much smoother.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some parts of the interface are not always intuitive, it's not always obvious where you would go to find certain settings of features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's benefitting us by being the single place where all translations are being processed; connecting our content to our translation service providers.

Most disappointing customer success

What do you like best about the product?
Nothing positive to say so far as the experience has been horrendous
What do you dislike about the product?
- We are project managing Smartling Customer Success despite the fact of being their customer
- Following up multiple times to get an update / response regarding on going issues
- Obtaining new (but critical) information later on in the project, causing projects to delay
- Misinformation communicated, causing additional / unnecessary workload
- Additional cost charged without any heads up; no transparently

A Powerful Tool With Many Missed Opportunities

What do you like best about the product?
The plethora of features on Smartling covers everything a localisation manager might need for running projects of all sizes and scopes, which is not available in many TMSs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main issue is that all these features seem to live in isolation from each other, making it very unintuitive for new users; it would be great if the product design was reconsidered with usability in mind
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Translating multiple software products in a continuous development model and automating the process of string translations saved us countless hours of job handling and allowed us to focus on other areas of the process.

What do you like best about the product?
The TMS has every feature you need for managing translations. There are exicting product releases every month. The Smartling team goes above and beyond to help customers come up with the best solutions, whether it's implementing an existing integration, advising on best practices, or developing a new product feature to meet the evolving localization needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would be great if the reporting features were more flexible and robust.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Smartling platform helps us centrally manage translation and localization across the organization, for around products and over a dozen platforms. The tech is solid, sustainable and scalable. We have been able to automate most of our workflows through Smartling's APIs and integrations, which significantly reduced our time to market.

Smartling: Great product

What do you like best about the product?
There are many great features but I think my favourite is the variety of ways you can set up different workflows to cater for various scenarios in specific projects. The filtering options in the Strings view are also really detailed and allow you to be incredibly specific about what you're looking for. Overall, I find it to be a very user-friendly product. The customer support has been fantastic any time I've had queries or issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not a lot to dislike, to be honest. I've been using the platform daily for almost 3 years and recent updates have improved a few things I found cumbersome or confusing before. There are a couple of minor things I would improve, such as an additional filtering option in the Word Counts report to filter by linguist, and the ability to download reports or export strings in XLSX format rather than CSV.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company had been using Smartling for about 4 years before I joined, so we had everything in place already and a well-established process. This provided a great foundation for me to start using the tool from the get-go and I was very quickly able to figure out how everything worked. What I find most beneficial is the cloud-based, collaborative aspect. Having come from a company using standalone installations of TMS and CAT tools, it was great to see how all our teams worked within the same tool and it help to significantly reduce the amount of file transferring and communication between the various parties.
