Easy to upload my documents also in Excel and survey format. Quick response and feedback

At the moment im happy with the current service
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Especially when using it for surveys. It is very helpfull that i can provide a format which i can use directly after translation. I dont have to do a lot of manual steps to implement the translations

Not able to authorise indivudual languages in a job

The control over web translation process now lies almost completely outside of IT/web teams making the translation process smoother and time to market way quicker.

What do you like best about the product?
Lot's of integrations with other tools we use such as Contentful and Figma. This helps to automate our processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI can sometimes be hard to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrations to help us automate our processes, cost savings with reusable translations in the translation memory, machine translation.

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to offer both an interface for inhouse translations as well as strong API for a fully automated translation flow. Many competitors have translation abilities, but usually solve only 1 problem. We are able to use smartling for product descriptions, instructions, contracts, images and much more.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features, such as GDN, are extremely costly in comparison to other solutions out there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our organization sells wholesale to over 90 countries around the worls and online to countries in Europe. We have been able to fully automate our product translation process keeping our brand voice.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is for my team to use and collaborate across with other teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the quantity of fields/elements to filter by can be a bit confusing or hard to narrow down.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Navigating the site the first time I used it was hard. It's not very intuitive.

Brilliant localisation platform

What do you like best about the product?
Smartling is a great CAT tool with lots of features useful for localisation managers, engineers and linguists. The CAT tool itself makes leverage of translation memory pretty efficient, the glossary functionality is great too, and I appreciate the issues functionality. The context tab is very useful for linguists, too. Smartling keeps introducing new things, from new connectors to hands-on, straightforward solutions like the Smartling Excel Template.
What do you dislike about the product?
Row limits in the search results are not ideal. I would like to have a direct link to the job from the cross-TM search, too. All in all, it's a good tool, but it stores a lot of information that isn't always easily accessible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an international company, our app is needed in different languages so Smartling is key in the automation of localisation processes, not only to localise our product, but also to cover comms, design, and anything in between. Not the easiest of platforms, but once trained, all departments rely on Smartling to submit and manage all translation requests.

Mostly good experience working with the API, though Smartling's job structure is a little unexpected

What do you like best about the product?
- Robust and well-documented API
- Great support responses
What do you dislike about the product?
My experience is entirely with working with the API to query, retrieve and push translations. When it comes to working with jobs via the API, it feels like Smartling has been built from a different perspective. Taken by itself, this is absolutely fine; but if you want to create some sort of union with another, say, ERP, CRM or work-tracking system then you'll have to do a bit of processing on your side. For example, where most CAT tools will have some sort of project or job with source file(s) and source and target languages, then perhaps a deadline, Smartling has a list of target languages, inside which are workflows (which are customisable), inside which are job IDs (and associated strings for translation).
Also, there are several webhooks which would be useful for Smartling users who create/publish jobs but, as far as I can see, there are no webhooks at all for consumers of these jobs. Perhaps this is understandable given that those who create/publish jobs are those who are paying for Smartling.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartling certainly helps us to help our customers (who have chosen Smartling). Their technical support team is a pleasure to work with.

Great tools to make translations simpler!

What do you like best about the product?
Once integrated into the build process, Smartling handles all of the translations. Smartling provides support as well to manage initial configuration and has good docs for additional support.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be challenging to implement on an extensive scale applications and will add some extra steps to build processes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helped automate our translation and localization processes and integrate into our existing build process.
