Great company, great platform.
What do you like best about the product?
Great company to work with! The platform is user-friendly and runs smoothly (just the rare tiny bug). The team is great to work with: communication is clear, PMs are super supportive. Payments are on time and as agreed. Truly a reliable partner I’d love to keep collaborating with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Just the occasional small bugs on the platform, but nothing too serious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I’m a freelancer working with Smarting. I perform (mostly) translation and revision on their platform.
Translating with AI support
What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most about Smartling is the seamless integration of AI technology across its platform. Translators can work more efficiently with AI support available directly on the screen during translation, which makes the process significantly faster and more convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
When questions arise about specific contexts, the only option is to submit a ticket and wait for a response. Depending on the issue, the reply may come either from the client or a member of the Smartling team, which can sometimes delay resolution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I value that once you’re added to an account, you often receive a large volume of work from that account whenever jobs are available. This allows you to focus on the same subject matter for an extended period and fully immerse yourself in the project, which ultimately leads to better results.
Easy to use and fast
What do you like best about the product?
This it is a very intuitive translating software. I found it easy to use from the very beginning.
One of my favourite features is the "issues", as doubts are visible for all translators and solved easily and soon.
I also like the fact that it loads fast and working with it is, therefore, fast too.

What do you dislike about the product?
It's a pity it cannot be used from a smartphone. I understand that it's always better and more professional to work from a computer, but very short works (eg. 3 words or 10 words) are totally doable from a smaller device.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The IA translation is becoming more accurate and easy to use.
I really love working with Smartling
What do you like best about the product?
Smartling is a really intuitive CAT tool and very easy to work with. The company and its employees are extremely helpful and friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, one can accidentally miss a segment, if you are unaware that the segments are joined and you approve. It can easily be fixed during review, though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes translation really easy and flawless as there are some exellent QA functions built in the system.
Smartling is a Lifesaver
What do you like best about the product?
It has the keeps my work organized and tells me what I need to do next. As a translator, the quality checks and context tab is a gamechanger.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can look a bit daunting at first but with practice you can manage, but that is not a big deal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Workload organization, management and follow up without overwhelming my clients.
After 10 years working with them, I have never had a problem.
What do you like best about the product?
Its translation support tools are constantly evolving. You may turn down a job if you are too busy.
What do you dislike about the product?
In some products the glossaries are not up to date.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes my translation, proofreading and editing work easier.
Smartling, as a TMS, is very streamlined and easy-to-navigate.

- TMs, Glossary, and Query are easy to access.
- Excellent team of PMs and Supports

What do you dislike about the product?
- Context is not easy to access or navigate. Sometimes, it does not work (when handling certain file types).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Delivering bespoke localization solution for clients with hyperlocale approach to ensure the translation is received in a way that it feels like written in their native language.
- The most important thing is that Smartling opens up a channel for communication between linguists and clients, so that they can solve issues and clarify messages so that the translation is as accurate as it is culturally relevant.

Great tool for translators and agencies
What do you like best about the product?
As a translator, I value the strong tools Smartling allows me to use for free. I've worked on huge projects (100k+) words without it crashing down or slowing down my PC, which is a huge plus that not many translation softwares offer. I love having everyting in one place (invitations to new jobs, glossaries, TMs, QAs...). I work with different clients, but the ones that give me the option to use Smartling are my favourites.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest downside for me was that there was a bug with it when used on iPad. I had a trip coming in and had a couple small jobs that I wanted to take care of on a train ride, but noticed that the spacebar had a bug when using it on the browser on my iPad. It's such a non-issue, but that'd be something to improve in the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartling is the unified translation platform for me, receiving/accepting jobs via email generates lots of communication waste and can be time-consuming, and Smartling solves that in a well-designed way. I feel translation management systems don't always go the extra mile for UX, so Smartling stands up as one of the best tools I've tried for translation jobs. I also value having integrated tools like TBs, TMs and QAs, which get rid of the need of any additional software.
Great new technology for translation work
What do you like best about the product?
I like Smartling's UI - all the important relevant information about the project can be understood at a glance. I also like that translators and project managers have access to it, minimizing a lot of the back and forth that goes when assigning translations projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since it's a cloud-based platform, the projects are uploaded in real-time. This also means that project managers sometimes have to continuously claim the same project until the entire project is claimed. This can be quite tedious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartling cuts down on a lot of the tedious communication between project managers and translators sending projects back and forth.
