Simple and easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to search for submissions and create lists once you get the hang of the system. Although a simpler program than others out there to manage grants, I found that the benefits of the simplicity were that I was able to handle a lot of the back-end changes myself.
What do you dislike about the product?
You have to pay extra to speak to customer service reps, and only a few emails are included in the base plan. The layout of the program could use a designer to help make it a bit more user-friendly. You can tell that the IT department came up with a lot of the layout; some do not make sense in the location to access specific functions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were trying to manage a first-time grants program for a company foundation. We needed something that we could easily create proposal forms and organize on the back-end.
Great platform, not so great customer support
What do you like best about the product?
The platform itself has many great features, and it was easy to track utilization from our employees. We immediately put it to use after a weather disaster in our community and had a very successful campaign. It really helped facilitate and enhance our corporate social responsibility initiatives.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer support - it took much longer than was communicated to get the platform up and running. This was 100% because our Account Manager was virtually non-responsive. It would take weeks sometimes to get a simple response to a question so we could get the integration working. Troubleshooting minor issues would take way longer than necessary because no one would reply to questions. Bright Funds would reach out about something we needed to do; we would execute but then wouldn't hear back for at least a week. Typically several weeks. We even tried circumventing our account manager and going through their customer support desk, which did not help. Bright Funds has high potential and could add a lot of value to an organization, but I would not recommend using their platform because the poor customer support rendered it virtually un-usable at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finding ways to engage our employees with our corporate social responsibility initiatives. We used Bright Funds for donation tracking, connecting employees with donation and volunteer opportunities, and to build campaigns that aligned with the organization's mission and values..
Grandfathered contract
What do you like best about the product?
Allowing for blind submission for jury review during exhibitions.
Easy to assign reviewers and jurors during the processes.
makes the administrative tasks easier

makes the administrative tasks easier
What do you dislike about the product?
price has gone up greatly since first implemented. We dont feel we could afford the software if we were not grandfathered in under a several year old agreeemnt.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Blind jurying of work for exhibitions.
made organizing files easier on staff.
made organizing files easier on staff.
Great platform, but expensive.
What do you like best about the product?
Submittable is an excellent tool for accepting submissions for any project. Each submission portal is highly customizable, allowing you to change everything from the title to the submission cap to detailed submission guidelines. It also accepts a variety of file formats, and the screening process is intuitive and collaborative.
What do you dislike about the product?
This program can be very expensive. They also recently made changes to how their site and their plans work, so the support pages are frequently outdated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team can accept submissions from the nearby or worldwide literary community using Submittable. We can also join specific review teams, which means everyone only sees the submissions they are intended to review. The screening process allows us to leave comments and ratings on everything we review. The thumbs-up/thumbs-down ranking system allows us to see how well a piece is doing, saving us a lot of in-person discussion time. Overall, it makes our process more efficient and more collaborative.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be honest with the team about your budget when looking into subscriptions - they will most likely be willing and able to work with you.
Excellence in Supporting the Communities

What do you like best about the product?
It is straightforward to request a match.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I dislike about Bright Funds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have checked on the match payment status a few times as the matches are paid out in about two months. The responses from Michelle at Bright Funds are very, very quick and helpful.
Bright Funds a Great Parnter for Carrying Out Your Nonprofit Mission
What do you like best about the product?
Bright Funds is a great vehicle for encouraging volunteering and giving back activities and donations to nonprofit organizations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inconsistency of the experience we have each time we enter/record volunteering or donations thru the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are helping them identify inflexibilities in the tool, as well as inconsistencies in the experience each nonprofit has when navigating the tool. We benefit from the prompt and courteous support we receive each time we reach out for technical support or to understand how to navigate the tool.
Makes life easier for any organization that accepts submissions
What do you like best about the product?
Submittable has great collaboration tools, is very easy to use, and helps keep everything organized. As a publisher accepting submissions, it was the perfect tool for all our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I could even start to complain about is the cost, but given all it does, that's not a fair complaint.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Improved collaboration, better organization, payment acceptance, and pretty much everything else a publishing company could need.
Great platform, responsive support team, valuable tool!
What do you like best about the product?
The platform is incredibly user-friendly and easy to navigate!
What do you dislike about the product?
Cisco specific support materials are housed outside of the platform itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Employee Giving & Volunteering Tracking; Nonprofit engagement
Bright Funds is a great platform for volunteer management
What do you like best about the product?
Donor/User experience is great and database is pretty extensive.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you do donor matching, there is a significant lag to get funds into the hands of nonprofits. The technical support has been limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This program was derived for employee engagement - we have seen minimal tangible benefits. Internal engagement has been limited in the platform- though I don't think that reflects on the platform, it's just a challenge we've run into.
