Jamf Pro is the best Apple Device management tool out there.
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of deploying and managing Apple Apps. The number of available tools in JAMF to configure device settings.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the tools available for iPads are not available for computers (e.g. - Update Inventory).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Locking iPads that Apple no longer supports. Jamf Pro makes it easy to identify iPads Apple no longer supports and take action on those devices.
Jamf Pro is powerful and reliable.
What do you like best about the product?
We have self-hosted Jamf Pro since the Casper days, going back 10 years. We have never had an issue with the server components; backups have been automated and straightforward. We have had to do two migrations since the initial deployment and restoring the database has never been a problem. They provide ample documentation and the community is a fantastic resource in addition to the quick response of the Jamf support teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI has made some inconsistent changes (esp in the Settings -> Scripts) that make searching annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro is the backbone of our One-to-One program.
Makes managing Apple devices easy
What do you like best about the product?
The support. If there are ever any questions about anything, there is help. Jamf Support is always excellent, but I find Jamf Nation is the best starting point. Users are extremely helpful and supportive. Even when there isn't a good answer, its great to know you're not alone.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not sure I like the revamped Jamf website, still having trouble navigating to find resources (particularly scripts and such).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I started with Jamf, it made imaging computers MUCH easier and faster to manage. Now it integrates with MDM for even more effortless "imaging" and setup. We're not quite to zero-touch yet but it still speeds things up, and we don't have to babysit it while the computers are going through the setups. We are just starting to use Jamf for patch management. We also manage iPads and Apple TVs.
A Must-Have for Mac Administrators
What do you like best about the product?
Automation of software installation/configuration. Self Service is awesome!
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of a downside. It's pretty great :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Many end users get solutions to issues much quicker. Less time spent traveling between buildings has been very beneficial and allows more time for problem-solving.
Powerful product
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf is very powerful and allows us to customize the management solution to fit our organization's changing needs. The workflow possibilities are endless. If you can scheme it up, you can most likely implement it with Jamf.
What do you dislike about the product?
The third-party application patching feature, Jamf Patch, has been neglected for many years. Competing products provide an easy way to source application installers directly within the product. Jamf Pro requires you to engineer your own solution. This is a key area where Jamf is falling behind competitors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We manage a fleet of 5,000+ devices. Jamf Pro allows us to enforce organizational and audit obligations and ensure the security of our global workforce's endpoints. We're able to quickly pivot and adapt to business needs because of the ease of iterating within Jamf.
Great product with great support!
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Support is always quick to get a hold of. If they don't have an answer for you immediately, they will work with you to get one. Honestly, Jamf has one of the most straightforward support experiences I have had.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few feature requests that have been a long time in coming. Specifically, a feature request has been up since I started using Jamf for a built-in way to hide secrets, especially when accessing the Jamf API from a script. Additionally, the built-in introspective reporting capabilities of Jamf could use some work (though there are many useful open-source tools to make up for it).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jamf for basic management of our macOS fleet. Jamf affords us flexibility beyond what apple offers with simple MDM.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to check out the training courses. The Jamf 100 course is free and gives a great rundown of the basic features.
Jamf Pro provides a comprehensive set of tools and services for managing Apple devices
What do you like best about the product?
There is a way to do every aspect of Apple device management with Jamf Pro
What do you dislike about the product?
Our organisation's complex needs require the ability to automate every aspect of what we do in Jamf Pro. Sometimes the API is lagging behind what you can do by clicking things in the admin user interface, which can be frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our primary aim is to provide a software kiosk for our Apple device users, plus enable our administrators to improve security on those devices and deploy configurations to help our users work more efficiently. Jamf Pro gives us almost all the tools we need to do this.
G2 Review
What do you like best about the product?
Having Jamf support has been a valuable resource when we face challenges. Compared to other vendors, what I love most about our Jamf success is having a knowledge-based relationship with them. This helps to get straight to the issue or workflow at hand and saves valuable time in finding a solution. With other vendors, your contastanly have to paint a new picture with a new person. There is nothing more frustrating than having to repeat yourself when a time-sensitive critical situation occurs.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only dislike with Jamf is having to constantly reapply the activation code to the system after multiple new licenses are purchased year-round. If there is ever an update within that time frame and the activation code is not applied the cloud distribution point has a tendency to stop working until the latest activaion code is applied. For the cloud-based system, I feel like this should be an automated component by now.

The iPad movement from campus to campus has been a huge problem for us. Having to re-prestage thousands of iPads at the beginning of the year for students has been a huge challenge. Even though The MUT utility can accomplish this in bulk for our 100 plus sites, it's still a per-site process. A benefit to this is the need to work with Jamf to revisit our current environment to work through this new 1 to 1 challenge.
Jamf Pro is the choice if IT dept could choose. And surprisingly, also if the end user could choose.
What do you like best about the product?
The preferred option I can recommend as a device management solution to deploy for a customer. Small or large amounts of devices, Jamf Pro scales very well.
Easy to maneuver interface. Easy to enroll devices, both using prestage zero touch enrollement, or user enrollment of devices already in use.
Zero touch enrollement leaves all the guesswork out for the end user, leaving more time for productivity within the first hour of turning on the new device or Mac(network speed and amount of software to roll out permitted). End users can get software directly distributed at setup or any time later, which is such a treat for IT used to image computers.
My favorite? SSO Kerberos extension distribution works really great, reducing time spent on logging into various web tools your organization use.

What do you dislike about the product?
For a novice user, you will want to either set aside quite some time to get to know the interface and advanced options well or bring in someone who does. Otherwise, you'll be left out of the more advanced (read: the best) capabilities of Jamf Pro.
Interface has a lot of space left over if used on a high-resolution screen/fullscreen browser window. On the other side, this also makes the interface less cluttered.

First time setup experience for end users is much better.
Rollout of the mentioned SSO extension solved a lot of login-issues. Time spent helping with end users not being able to do work has dramatically decreased.

The WOW factor is real!
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to have eyes on our Macs in the new world or Work-From-Home. Without Jamf Pro, I'd have no easy way to manage, patch, and update an ever-expanding fleet.
What do you dislike about the product?
For someone that is completely new to Jamf and scripting in general, I wish there was some more guided instructions/tutorials. So much I had to Google and find on my own. Nothing like jumping into the deep end.

We are a vastly growing company that exploded during Covid. We went from 30 Macs to 90+ Macs all while going fully remote. I'm solving little things, like being able to check end-user broadband speeds, to large thing like touchless major OS Upgrades. Never has it been easier to update from Mojave to Catalina to Big Sur and now into Monterey! All while not touching a single machine. New app rollouts, ez-pz.
