You buy this product through a contract with two dimensions priced per unit. Jamf for Mac is the core offering, billed per macOS device. It bundles Mac management, security, and identity capabilities. You commit to a device count for the contract term. Jamf Premium Cloud is an optional add-on. It gives you flexibility and control over your cloud server, such as choosing when to upgrade, safelisting IPs, and customizing your URL. You add it on top of your Jamf for Mac units. The two dimensions scale independently based on the quantity you select.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one Jamf for Mac unit for billing?
One unit is one managed macOS device, billed per device. You commit to a device count for the contract term. A 25-device minimum applies. Each Mac you enroll counts as a separate unit toward your total.
What does the Jamf Premium Cloud add-on change about my cloud server?
Premium Cloud is an optional add-on for hosting your Jamf server in the cloud. It lets you choose when to upgrade, safelist IPs, and customize your URL. These offers are available only for Jamf Cloud customers, not on-premises setups.
How do the two dimensions combine on my bill, and which drives cost?
Both dimensions bill per unit and appear together on your invoice. Jamf for Mac scales with your macOS device count and typically drives most of the cost. Jamf Premium Cloud is added on top for cloud server control. You select the quantity for each independently.

The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They know the Mac like no other company I’ve worked with. Now that they've also expanded their offerings with Protect and Security Cloud, it even better (if that's possible).

Great solution that's built for Apple with solid Security, Compliance and AI Governance capabilities - pricing can be a bit steep, if not utilizing the full platform

What do you like best about the product?
Great solution. I appreciate that Jamf is specifically built for Apple and offers unique features for the Apple ecosystem that other UEM solutions don't, especially around security and compliance. Their authentication and threat protection capabilities integrated into the Jamf platform are really useful, and the newly added AI governance features are quite impressive. It's a solid platform that consolidates other tools and offers a lot of integrations, making IT management of a growing Apple fleet much easier. Jamf also provides a better IT and end-user experience compared to Windows-focused UEM tools and it integrates with Intune as well. Initial setup is pretty easy, which is a nice surprise.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing is a bit steep and it's hard to see the value if you're not using the full platform. Jamf Pro only is what some clients need and have budget for but there is a heavy push to the Jamf platform, which is understandable. There is quite a bit of transactional sales rep behavior at Jamf though and some don't provide much value in terms of ensuring clients are utilizing the full platform, until a few months before the renewal is due. Great progress consolidating the products into a platform but adoption of the full capabilities by some clients has been limited, making it tough for them to see the full value of what Jamf has created.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf provides Apple-focused device management, security, compliance, and authentication features, creating a better user experience and easier IT management compared to Windows-focused tools. It consolidates various tools and includes threat protection, identity authentication, and AI governance capabilities.

Seamless Zero-Touch Deployment with Powerful Self Service and Policy Control

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Jamf is its zero-touch deployment through Apple School Manager, which makes onboarding truly seamless.
The platform also caters extremely well to different needs. Jamf School provides an intuitive interface with classroom-focused tools such as the Jamf Teacher app, while Jamf Pro supports more complex enterprise environments with deep scripting, API access, and granular policy management. The Self Service portal is another major highlight, since it lets end users easily access the resources they need.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, I can't think of anything I dislike about Jamf. It's a great platform :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest benefit for our team is the time we save: zero-touch onboarding that lets us focus on other projects.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most is how easy it is to use, along with the features it offers. We’re just starting to use blueprints, and it already feels like it’s going to be a game changer.
What do you dislike about the product?
With blueprints still kind of a new feature but the scoping and creating groups that have a blueprint installed are lacking
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Software updates via ddm and compliance a very big benefit

Flexible Jamf Pro That Adapts Fast, Backed by Effective Support
Reviewed on Sep 10, 2026

What do you like best about the product?
I personally love how flexible Jamf Pro is, we can support multiple departments with wildly different requirements and make changes quickly and effectively while also keeping things the same whenever possible. Any issues we run into, Support is really effective to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
The AI tools are not where we would expect them to be at this point. We've had a couple of AM's this year and they changed without letting us know, we discovered it when we emailed and didn't get a response and followed up and got a bounce back.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're in a regulated industry and this helps us maintain compliance across the fleet and speed up audits. Changes are done efficiently and are reliably deployed.
