Dimensions summary
You buy this product through a contract with two dimensions priced per unit. Jamf for Mac is the core offering, billed per macOS device. It bundles Mac management, security, and identity capabilities. You commit to a device count for the contract term. Jamf Premium Cloud is an optional add-on. It gives you flexibility and control over your cloud server, such as choosing when to upgrade, safelisting IPs, and customizing your URL. You add it on top of your Jamf for Mac units. The two dimensions scale independently based on the quantity you select.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One unit is one managed macOS device, billed per device. You commit to a device count for the contract term. A 25-device minimum applies. Each Mac you enroll counts as a separate unit toward your total.
Premium Cloud is an optional add-on for hosting your Jamf server in the cloud. It lets you choose when to upgrade, safelist IPs, and customize your URL. These offers are available only for Jamf Cloud customers, not on-premises setups.
Both dimensions bill per unit and appear together on your invoice. Jamf for Mac scales with your macOS device count and typically drives most of the cost. Jamf Premium Cloud is added on top for cloud server control. You select the quantity for each independently.

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate the interface and its intuitive nature
What do you dislike about the product?
Having a mixed Apple and Windows environment, having a single MDM for management would be simpler on a daily basis. I understand the interest of 100% Apple management with Jamf, but in my case, diversity is necessary. Therefore, it remains to be seen the possibilities to properly manage both environments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf has allowed me to have a simplified and clear view of my Apple fleet. No more manual management and integration: I no longer waste time debugging case by case. It also facilitates software installations and updates in a cleaner and smoother manner.

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf makes managing Apple devices easier. The interface is user-friendly, and there are numerous possibilities. Note that Apple's features are quickly supported by Jamf.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our biggest issue with Jamf is that not all features are available in the OnPremise version compared to the Cloud version! Since we cannot switch to Cloud mode at our University for confidentiality and sovereignty reasons, we lack some tools that would make management easier. There are also shortcomings in the interface's ergonomics, such as the ability to organize the dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf provides an overview of the Apple device fleet and allows interaction with it. In terms of software, installation on the fleet is greatly facilitated. The management of configuration profiles is very beneficial, as are the possibilities for system updates. When setting up a new workstation, everything is almost automatic, saving a significant amount of time.

What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most about Jamf is its perfect integration with the Apple ecosystem and the power of its management features such as: Zero-Touch deployment, which is smooth and fully automated. Granularity and control: The precision of SmartGroups, configuration profiles, and the ability to deploy custom scripts, offering great flexibility in administration and performance. Security: The macOS update policy and fleet security monitoring are simple and effective on a daily basis. Availability of support: it's always nice to be able to rely on responsive support at all levels.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although Jamf Pro is a very powerful tool, there is a learning complexity. The administration interface is very dense, and the configuration logic (Smart Groups, rules, scripts) requires significant time for a new administrator to master.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before implementing Jamf Pro, managing our fleet of Macs required numerous manual interventions for enrollment, workstation configuration, and professional software installation. What Jamf solves daily is standardization and automated deployment, as we can distribute ready-to-use workstations directly to employees. Jamf ensures the uniform application of our security policies and simplifies update management, allowing user autonomy through Self Service with an approved application catalog.
