System management made easy

What do you like best about the product?
Our IT dept does not struggle to assist end users any longer. We can remotely reset computer log-ins and troubleshoot issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting our team familiar with the setup was a bit of a struggle. After several training sessions, we were confident that we could go live. Finding specific tools wasn't as easy as we would have liked, although the tools were there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Response times have been cut in half since we can now do the necessary tasks remotely. Making the need for onsite IT 24/7 a thing of the past.

Options that got in Jamf Connect when compared with Enterprise Connect. Integrations with multiple identity providers helps maca dmins to use Jamf connect to achieve zero touch enrolment.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial account setup which shows local admins created at prestage and user initiated enrolments while creating local accounts making end users know about the accounts creating at enrolment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The major one I can say is with IdP integration and smooth enrolment.

Jamf makes it extremely easy to manage your MacOS environment. With Automation through scripts, Access management, and easy deployment to devices remotely

The gold standard for managing Apple devices.

  • October 20, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro is a force-multiplier - it enables you to deploy and enforce settings and software automatically and regardless of geography or time. Manual, error-prone, step-by-step processes become one-to-many operations based on the facts of the device: imagine a GPO but granular based on the device's or user's condition at that time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dated, inconsistent admin GUI that often requires many more clicks or operations to update or save changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro lets me centrally manage and maintain over a thousand Macs spread across multiple states and timezones, and is helping my team reduce the amount of time and effort required to build and prepare those devices.

Jamf should be your starting point and benchmark for Apple MDM

What do you like best about the product?
Choosing what I like best about Jamf is a tricky thing. I will narrow it down to three items. First, and universally important, is zero-day support. With Jamf, I never have to worry about whether or not I can support a new feature from Apple. We're always covered from the jump, which means we don't have to worry about playing catch-up. Second, Smart Groups are nearly worth the cost of the entire Jamf License. They allow for automated deployments without having to worry about supervising your management policies. Essentially, if you do the prep work, you can ensure your devices receive patching when they need them and remain compliant when a user has different ideas. Finally, for the more technical, Extension Attributes are unique and my favorite and most recommended Jamf feature. They are the missing link I didn't know I needed until I finally understood them. They allow for tagging devices using any kind of data you can image, making them the perfect fit for any environment. When paired with Smart Groups the result is borderline witchcraft.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is very little to dislike about Jamf. Their product is the gold standard in Apple Mobile Device Management. Their downfall presents itself as a result of what they do so well. As a cloud subscriber now, we have limited access to our database and distribution point. This requires intervention from support when things aren't working correctly; however, this is so rare it hardly creates a real problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Apple devices are developed with a consumer-first perspective, making it challenging for MacAdmins to maintain patching, policy, and security standards on their endpoints. Jamf fits hand-in-hand with Apple to ensure a seamless level of management. Having worked with other MDM providers, including product development for one of Jamf's competitors, I can say without a doubt Jamf is the best at what they do. No one else is close, and the quality of their products provides incredible value. Other MDMs can be similar, but the cost of choosing the wrong solution, those that aren't as affective or are not as feature-rich, and then migrating to Jamf later could result in complications Jamf can help you avoid from the beginning
