Jamf Pro is a life (job) saver!
What do you like best about the product?
When we were given less than a week notice to prepare to move everyone offsite, I was able to do so easily with Jamf Pro already in place. It allowed me to deploy software, track inventory, and remote to users with only a few clicks of the mouse. It saved months of user and IT frustrations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jamf Remote doesn't work over the VPN, but it does allow me to push Zoom, Teams and ARD configurations so I had multiple other options available when needing to assist users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to push security and software updates on schedule with little hassle. Macs can be locked down and compliant to all requirements.
Best of breed
What do you like best about the product?
They have access to everything you can possibly want to customize in a Mac. Software deployment is incredibly easy and takes little to no time to configure, depending on the software. No one on the market can compete with their access to OS commands and controls, or with how quickly they adapt to new OS updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of their file and data management systems need work. In their hosted version there's no easy way to download a package for tweaking or investigating. In either the on-prem or hosted versions there's no way to manage the hundreds of icons that get added for use in Self Service. Both trivial in the grand scheme of things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are in the process of integrating all our Macs with Okta and SSO. Jamf along with Jamf Connect are helping us give users a seamless and uniform experience across all devices, so they only have to remember their one password and then they get access to everything they need. In our work from home environment, I'm able to ship computers directly to users and they just turn them on and login. This speeds up deployment and saves on shipping costs alone!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Unless you really enjoy managing Apache and SQL servers, don't bother with the on-prem version. Just get the cloud hosted version and let someone else deal with the nuts and bolts. Aside from that, join both JamfNation.com to get help from fellow users (they often help beyond just the Jamf piece) and the various Mac Admin slack channels. The communities there are incredibly supportive and creative. They can take you from simply "it works" to "what doesn't it do?!"
Jamf Not just a MDM!
What do you like best about the product?
the community is definitely something Jamf should brag about. when you have any issue is easy to find forums of other Jamf admins that could give you an inside and help you address them.
What do you dislike about the product?
if I am been honest the one thing I don't like is the constant update... once I update my version, that same week I am getting an email about the new release, is not a bad issue to have but is still sometimes frustrating when you are working to test and make sure everything is working to then start over.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
the way to manage all the MAC devices for all the organization, making my job easier.
Jamf Pro resolved some difficult problems in my business
What do you like best about the product?
It´s the best solution to manage Apple devices and it´s even better when working integrated with Apple DEP.
What do you dislike about the product?
It´s pretty simple and intuitive but sometimes I´d like more details to a better troubleshooting, I believe they should provide a better report tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We couldn´t deploy a corporate Wi-Fi certificate with other MDM solutions, with the integration with Apple devices that Jamf Pro provide us we were able to manage certificate and deliver it successfully. The management of iOS devices enrolled with DEP is awesome as well.

It´s a complete solution, easy to implement and maintain.

What do you dislike about the product?
Virtual JNUC 2020, I wanted to attend JNUC 2020 Physically.

What do you like best about the product?
While we're still in the implementation phase, the simplicity of the interface, combined with the power of Jamf Pro is great. I love how easy it is to deploy apps, settings, etc., all with just a few clicks. Puts SCCM to shame.
What do you dislike about the product?
When it comes to creating plist (config) settings files, that process is still somewhat piecemeal. During the implementation, we used a few different tools to generate plists, which was somewhat confusing. Hopefully Jamf will end up integrating a plist editor/generator into their web ui, to help avoid some of the confusion. For someone who's primary responsibility has been on the Windows side, it was a bit of a learning curve. If you're in the mac-verse all of the time (i.e. a seasoned mac admin), this is likely a non-issue. Overall, this is a very minor compliant.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are onboarding our now completely disconnected MacBook fleet, bringing them under corporate management, including security policy to adhere to SOC2 and HIPPA requirements.

Smart Group, Configurations & Simple pkg installations are seamless and simple to set up
What do you dislike about the product?
at times some commands require sudo jamf update
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
updating and installing pkgs to 300+ macs reduces time to connect and interact remotely in a session, especially in these times

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf has great features for work with other systems like AD, Azure and so on.
What do you dislike about the product?
As managing system for Macs or iOS devices there are applications that are faster, easier to use and more logical.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The AD AC connector is awesome to help out with personal cert from AD.

You can't check from dashboard the groups that are used to which configuration profiles or policies

What do you like best about the product?
Making the deployments of computers and mobile devices much more rapid and efficient for both the end user and IT.
What do you dislike about the product?
Just allow me to customize the interface, coloring scheme and some other things, thats all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf has helped me make the transition to televisits and working from home a smooth one. I am able to now see what is deployed, owned, and offline allowing me to make data-based decisions.
