MixPanel the best Software Analytics Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Mixpanel interface is excellent. For anyone who works with software as a service, this tool is essential!
Distinguished product teams use this tool.
MixPanel have too many resources, all you need when the subject is Product Analytics you can do with Mixpanel.

What do you dislike about the product?
The initial configuration of data tracking is a bit complicated, especially if you want to evaluate everything that is possible. You will take some time to setup the events, mainly the custom events of you product.
Of course you need to evaluate the points the make sense to track, and if you love data like I, I'm sure that you will want to track everything.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use MixPanel to measure all the resources of our Software. With the collected data, we set up visualizations and dashboards to make decisions in our product, and in our sales proccess, because we use MixPanel to tracking our Free Trial.
For Product Analytics, I do not doubt that the MixPanel is The best choice, even more, than we are a Startup and we have been counting on the startups program for some time.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Mixpanel is a totally no-brainer platform when thinking about Product Analytics, you will find a lot of content, many resources and unlimited possibilities for reports and dashboards.
An excellent, quick and user friendly tool under construction
What do you like best about the product?
It's straightforward to perform quick analysis in no time at all. Once the data is in the platform, Mixpanel allows various most popular analysis frameworks intuitively, freeing up data team time, allowing almost everybody to get insights. The UX/UI are fabulous. They are all time bringing new useful features and this helps a lot, specially no data background people. Platforms integration (like GTM) are difficult, but it's the price for customization.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes Mixpanel may be a little unstable, forcing us to refresh the page. In dashboards, reports use to inherit multiple repeated filters. It's hard to input external data. Some filters are little hard to build due to period selection limitation (for example, it's hard build a cohort of users who did a specific action at least 3 distinct days for week in the last month, although it's easily built in retention report).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to understand the hooked user behavior with reports and funnels, the triggers that improve user retention with retention tools, and how events relate.
We have improved our analytics power and the data democracy; questions can be answered in no time, and we are not even using Mixpanel's total capacity.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Mixpanel is very useful for event analysis, like usability and product analysis. It's a friendly tool for no data users. But be sure you have an available dev to setting up the platform because it's not that easy doing it by yourself if you are not a dev person.
Easy to use once you get the hang of it
What do you like best about the product?
The text or video tutorials provided for each report type. Conveniently located, just scroll down on a blank report and there they are!
I also like the different types of reports and user-friendly design and colours.

What do you dislike about the product?
It can get overwhelming if you're new to it. And especially if you're not used to the format of how things work. Like I didn't know you had to save each report and there's no prompt, unlike for dashboard, so I lost a couple of basic reports like that.
It could also be made more convenient. Like, for retention there's a feature where they'll email you interesting segments when you click it. It could be made more convenient by just having the segments shown right there.
Could also be made more convenient to make a report. A dashboard is great and all, but a report needs text and white space to not overwhelm the audience, so I end up screen snipping each report.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making reports and seeing changes in analytics/stats over different periods.
I like the dashboard feature. I can have all relevant reports (graphs) on one dashboard.
I also like the different types of reports. Insights and funnels are the simplest but flows are fascinating to analyze.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
On the version I am, I can only analyze based on max 3 months, so keep that in mind when deciding what version. You may need to work on how to use data that's over 3 months old (which changes everyday, no less).
Go through the basic tutorials first, which I think is for Insights, then tutorials for different reports if you need to.

My XP on Mixpanel
What do you like best about the product?
How I can create the reports easily and find what I need about my data, due to my activities as a PM at Picpay, I nedd a lot of data research and visualization to make the right decisions at the right time as much as possible
What do you dislike about the product?
How some metrics and labels are not connected somehow, which makes me take some time to try to translate everything before going adding it on reports.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Funnels and Flows are the most report formats that I use in my day to day activities as a Product Manager; they help me visualize and understand the data flow in all my digital product experiences. I work with a website that is our PaaS, so I need to study our conversion funnels for each product with the data, and understand how the mixpanel data converses with the data we have in other tools and on other bases by the company
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check the labels that exist on your company Data Lake because that makes all the difference, and it helps you on creating dashes that are effective and show the accurate data, the data you need to manage your digital products better
Most of the features needed
What do you like best about the product?
How natural it is to understand and make reports. It reads like a textbook
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't UNDO and REDO any change. Also, it is hard to recover analysis if they are not saved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding users behaviour in a software to inform the product team
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure the tracking is well done and the naming convention is well thought. MixPanel is a great tool, but if data is messy, specially the naming of events and properties, it can become a nightmare.
Very good analytical tool
What do you like best about the product?
East to use after implemented. With the platform I can understand my users behavior quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Working with many funnels, it is hard to config and usulaly it is easy to create scenarios with fake data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understand the behaviour of our uses.
Google analytics doesnt record the scenarios or get logs

The simple and intuitive option for event-based analytics
What do you like best about the product?
Simple interface, quick initial setup, and helpful onboarding. My support experience has also been nothing but pleasant.
The reports, the debugging tools, and the overall ease of use are more than adequate even in the free version, and the nudging to upgrade to the paid version is not too intrusive.

What do you dislike about the product?
I flat out forgot that I had to tie backend and frontend event data explicitly (100% my bad, this is basic), but only realized it after writing to support. Not exactly their fault, but figuring out specific causes for common problems could be improved. Their support docs are helpful otherwise.
The fact that the docs for different platforms are not always consistent (e.g. Ruby and JS documentations look very differently) is a minor inconvenience.
The fact that I had to wait a couple of days for support to respond (we're on the free plan for now) is understandable, but slightly frustrating.

For now, we're using Mixpanel to track our signup funnel only. We'll be definitely expanding the analytics coverage to include product usage and customer lifecycle.
Very solid basic reports. Didn't have a chance to dig into the more advanced (paid) part of the tool yet, so cannot rate those.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely try it out if you don't need enterprise-grade features. The ease of use and setup beats those of Amplitude, Woopra, and the like.
If you're after the latest and greatest and have strong technical analytics talent in your organisation, you might want to consider Amplitude as well. But talk to both – Mixpanel could be what you need.

Helpful analytics for a SAAS businesses
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the flexibility of getting the report you need. You can create filters exactly where you need them, select the right events, create custom calculations on the fly, and see the best data to get your questions answers. I truly believe any online subscription-based business needs to be using Mixpanel.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am really sad that Mixpanel is discontinuing the ability to communicate with customers via its platform. Not only that but there aren't many simple integrations available with the email marketing platforms I use (Campaign Monitor, and Intercom) that allow me to use Mixpanel data to send communications to the right customers at the right time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to see high level trends amongst our users and our different cohorts, and understand what's working for our business and where there are some holes. I find that it clearly shows you what's going on with your user base so that you can take the right actions. Specifically it made me understand what customers are upgrading their subscription for by being able to see what most of them do after upgrading. This helps me choose the right features to focus on in our marketing communications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The product updates and videos are beneficial for ideas on how to use reports. Just look at "What's new" on the top right underneath the question mark icon.
Very helpful product for Product Managers
What do you like best about the product?
It's a powerful tool that helps to build decisions based on. With Mixpanel we have more insights on who is using our product and which features are being used the most.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much. But I recommend that you update your how-to and library videos as they show an old UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
More insights on the usage of our product.
