Ease of setup and maintenance. Aiven really takes out the complexity for us to host Kafka.
The setup is very reliable and can be easily scaled without any interruptions.
Their support team is quick to react and do an outstanding job.
I've been working with them for some years now and it's an absolute pleasure.

Nothing so far, they go the extra mile to make sure their customers are happy

We can implement a fully event driven service architecture without worrying about maintaining a Kafka cluster,
which can get quite complex.

There are some differences between original Kafka & Aiven Kafka experiences, including the management way, etc.
But it's okay to have these differences, just need time to adapt to them.

We use Kafka as usual.

we are deploying our new analytics system and we use timescale for the time series db
Very cool tech for hyperscalers.

You can switch your hyperscalers on demand. Very easy frontend - cool features.

Absolutely nothing. Smooth salesprocess, nices demo time!

We don't need to host kafka on our own. We can focus on our prduct and not on delivering reliable kafka servcies.
Aiven takes care of major overhead of managing a kafka cluster and provides seamless upgrades.

It's easy to get started. It provides necessary observability in terms of cluster health and topic statistics.

While we were doing the mandatory version upgrade, the upgrade wasn't zero downtime exactly. But restarting services at our end fixed the issue.

We are using Aiven Kafka for our central message bus needs, and it has been remarkably reliable and efficient.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have enjoyed my experience with Aiven Kafka so far. We have been using it in Production for more than a year now and have not faced any issues.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy and simplistic UI and management tools. There are good blogs and documentations which comes in handy for connecting from local. Upgrades are simple and one click operation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pagination of the topics. If any action is done, it always takes you to the 1st page. Sorting on various parameters of the topic like partition, retaintion etc. Would prefer to have some sdk provided to connect from code easily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Capture CDC and other events. Easy and simple without any management headeche. Reduces management overhead and increase productivity.

Aiven was extremely easy to set-up and the support has been so far been great. The free trial was also nicely set up.

The tiers could be structured in more flexible manner for very specific use cases
