Easily set up Kafka cluster in a matter of minutes
What do you like best about the product?
Simple, easly, and quick sign up. Getting started guides were great. Intuitive UI.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing that I didn't like. Having used Confluent in the past, it just took me a little learning to get used to the Aiven portall.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I like that Aiven provides a PaaS service, and not a SaaS service like Confluent.
SaaS as it should be
What do you like best about the product?
We have already used the service prior to professional use during a group work assignment at the university. The ease of setup and getting things started is what drew me in the first place to Aiven. The hassle-free setup of a database instance, the pre-configured backups as well as the transparent pricing are that make the service a valuable companion.
What do you dislike about the product?
As for now, works like charm. Nothing to complain about.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are hosting a JMIX-based application on-premise where we are using the Aiven PostgreSQL as a data backend. Not having to worry about the availability of the DB instance as well as the continuous backups is business critical.
Excellent service and knowledge of the subject
What do you like best about the product?
Can get a response quite fast within an hour
What do you dislike about the product?
Not sure yet what is recovery going to be like
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IoT Timeseries DB using TimescaleDB Extensions
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Nothing in particular. The service is solid.
Hassle-free Kafka
What do you like best about the product?
Easily get started. Smooth scaling (switching instance types) and lots of integration options.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only static credentials. Rotation needs to be applied. UI could offer more tooling.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kafka as a service. Next to no maintenance efforts and noticeably cheaper than competitors.
Great interface, easy to learn
What do you like best about the product?
The interface is very intuitive, easy to learn, I think that it took less than 10 minutes to find my Kafka messages. Create a schema is easy to, I strongly recommend this application.
What do you dislike about the product?
I created a free account by mistake with my professional e-mail, I needed to talk to the support team to have my account deleted to be possible to access my account that was previously created by my company, which uses a different authentication method (Okta).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provided me with an easy way to access my Kafka messages and schemas. The servers are easy to find, filter, etc. The system is simple and very easy to learn.
Great logs and metrics, very easy and intuitive interface.
What do you like best about the product?
While onboarding during my first week I was able to log into Aiven for the first time and immediately identify the queries that had performance issues and how to fix them.
What do you dislike about the product?
It requires integrating a third-party provider to your Cloud Infrastructure which creates an extra overhead for handling permissions, security and environment compatibility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Aiven to handle all of our databases: production, staging, replicas, data analytics and backups. The ease of setup is definitely a major sales point for Aiven.
Polygon is using Aiven as it's main provider for database services
What do you like best about the product?
No need to take care of setting up and maintenance
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, we are in our first steps with Aiven, so nothing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As mentioned above, we are a service-oriented company, so being able to free us from setup and maintenance is important. Also, we need to quickly deploy our nodes to different locations around the world, and Aiven gives up this freedom
Aiven for PostgreSQL is easy to Manage
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to manage, we can stop and start service and monitor it via website.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can not see yet about the download query statistic feature, which we can monitor which query and the average duration of the execution and download the statistics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Moving our data to the timeseries database. Hopefully, it will be faster than our previous database.

Connecting our Cassandra instance and updating search index & analytical OLTP workloads with Aiven
What do you like best about the product?
Avien helps with managing our OLTP database applications through its buffer allocation feature. It effectively captures changes that are made in our Cassandra instances and buffers them into the specified operational data stores of our choosing. It enables configuring our Cassandra instances to replicate data across different downstream data stores. This provides resilience towards the regional network interruptions and business continuity through advanced replication features.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dislike from my side on using Aiven for our Cassandra instances is none as it can scale out any number of nodes to manage our workloads thanks to its linear scalability.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Aiven provides an excellent DBaaS platform for connecting and managing our Apache Cassandra clusters. Its web console is comfortable for organizing the service groups under different topics and managing its billing settings. Since it's hosted in the AWS cloud platform, the uptime is 99.99%, and we needn't worry about failovers and downtime. It also aids with updating our search index and analytical workloads for data stored in our Cassandra instances and enables real-time visibility for our Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) requirements.
