Very useful with lot of features

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Aiven's hosted and managed-Apache Kafka, we can set up clusters, deploy new nodes, migrate clouds, and upgrade existing versions — in a single mouse click — and monitor them through a simple dashboard.
You can't go wrong picking Aiven for Postgres
What do you like best about the product?
I've found Aiven's support for Postgres to be much more full-featured than other platforms provide. The uptime and operational stability is (IMO) best in class for postgres, much better than you get from e.g. RDS. I love that it comes stock with a much wider set of postgres extensions than you get from other cloud providers - being able to opt in to using Timescale or PostGIS when you need to is key.
What do you dislike about the product?
My minor complaint is that I'm a Pulumi IAC user and I'd like for Aiven to have better support for Pulumi, so that we could spin up infrastructure from within our IAC tool of choice. Ultimately though this isn't the most major deal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The stability and uptime guarantees that Aiven provides allows our team to not have to hire a postgres DBA to use our database. It's really beneficial because we put some serious load on postgres and it's great that we still don't have to hire someone just for this need.
It just works!
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of CLI use and Terraform modules to provision and maintain the infrastructure. On the other hand, services are provisioned in a really quick and reliable way.
What do you dislike about the product?
Price? I am not sure, actually. I love the services provided. I would like to see more technologies inside Aiven ecosystem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it in a multi-cloud environment with a microservice infrastructure running on Kubernetes. It provides us with the event-driven tool we needed to let our systems be enough asynchronous so we can scale big-time without affecting performance.
Aiven PG
What do you like best about the product?
It was extremely easy to set up Aiven PG. Aiven does a great job obfuscating the complexities of each underlying cloud provider.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were even easier "quickstart" items to test functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This was just a test instance :)
Awesome integration into Terraform and DigitalOcean
What do you like best about the product?
It sits right in the middle between hosting everything on your own on one hand and booking confluent cloud on the other hand. We do not need to take care of the machines, zookeeper, ... and still get Kafka up and running wiht just "terraform apply"!
What do you dislike about the product?
We have a small integration setup and would like to have a small (as in cheap) one machine setup to just play with it. We plan on using review Apps in GitLab and spinning up a 200 $ / month setup everytime will soon get pricy ;-)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We could run Kafka anywhere, but we are a small company and even though our developers have fun playing with operations, we need to tightly focus the small amount of time we have. And having someone else taking care of Kafka and everything surrounding it helps us keeping this focus.
Does what it says on the tin - A managed Kafka service
What do you like best about the product?
The avn CLI tool is very helpful for automating jobs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the web UI is a little difficult to follow and it would be nice to have an obvious way of viewing topic schemas on here.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an end user of Kafka (Software Engineer) who does not manage operations, Aiven is largely like any other Kafka provider, but the tooling is nice
Great product
What do you like best about the product?
Aiven takes away all the pain from database management and lets you focus on core business.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I would like to make more fine-grained config changes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Removed the need for a DBA at a small scale
Pretty good experience, easy to understand UI, stable uptime
What do you like best about the product?
I would say that having a stable and reliable service is the most important thing for Kafka, but clear billing info and a nice UI are a great addition.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't really think of anything. Perhaps could be a sign that I didn't use more advanced features.

It clearly allows thinking less about the infrastructure and focusing on the logic.
Faster and lite

Faster for deployment on cloud, and easy to manage

I like Aiven for PostgreSQL, so there is no dislike
