What do you like best about the product?
That it just works - no need for complicated setup or IT settings. 90% of our freelancers have no idea how it works, it just works for them. When I explain HOW it works, they are amazed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost has more than doubled since we signed up - while the service is amazing - we are very, very conscious of our use because the costs have risen so much. While I appreciate eliminating egress fees - our workflow did not incur hi egress costs so while it may benefit some users, this actually just dramatically increased our costs!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote collaboration with various artists - mostly editors and motion graphics teams. No need for extra IT infrastructure or equipment on our side, just download and login.
Positive
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use and reliable. I can easily watch my videos as soon as they've bene uploaded
What do you dislike about the product?
It was initially complicated for me to navigate and setup, I kept running into slow transfer speeds despite having a fast internet connection
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
helping us archive our footage while ensuring easy access when needed.
Collaboration simplified
What do you like best about the product?
Lucid is really easy to bring people into. I can get editors or other post production collaborators connected to a project in minutes. The process allows us to get through post more efficiently
What do you dislike about the product?
At first we were using wasabi cloud which wasn't quite fast enough it seemed. When we switched over to ibm everything went a lot smoother. It was definitely noticeable difference
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having to share media across collaborators can be hard to manage, eslecially if assets are getting updates along the way. This keeps everyone on the same source media and they can pin their cache local if they don't want to stream files.
Lucid Link - Union Editorial
What do you like best about the product?
The upsides are all in remote workflow. Lucid Link is a very easy service to onboard and use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike "facility" integration. The only thing that keeps us from using Lucid Link on every project is the fact that there is no good method to "sync" to a shop and then share out over LAN. The last thing we want is 10-20 computers all hammering the same internet connection to access the same assets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy onboarding for remote work allows us to collaborate with folks in multiple time zones without issue.
An easy way to connect your digital team
What do you like best about the product?
The integration with the native system provides an invaluable way for users to collaborate. Users who are already used to a networked file store for collaborating find the transition super easy as a result, and using backup or file transfer tools is great because the volume is treated almost as a local one.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think this is inherent to LucidLink but dealing with inadequate upload speeds and large files is something we continue to struggle with for some users. LucidLink does seem to handle this quite well though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink solved our issue of team collaboration in a remote working world. Our video team was forced to spread out and using traditional on-premise infrastructure wasn't going to cut it so LucidLink was able to fill that gap for us.
Very effective when working with large groups on big project
What do you like best about the product?
Accessibility across devices and update speed
What do you dislike about the product?
WiFi connection can be a problem when downloading things
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No longer have to send things to coworkers over slack. Saves space in computer.
A game changer in file storage.
What do you like best about the product?
LucidLink makes it easy to upload, store, and share files between different departments across different cities. It's easy to use and understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much that I dislike. The only time it doesn't work is because of the internet connection, not the app itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink has helped us solve our file back up issue as well as an issue involving file sharing. It's made everything easier and more accessible. Instead of sharing hard drives, we have LucidLink.
Intuitive and reliable cloud share
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to send instructions to others (especially freelancers) on how to download and use Lucid.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having to login through Okta has caused issues if someone's front facing camera wasn't working to use FaceID
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have many problems transferring footage through drives, and Lucid has solved those as long as DPs have strong internet connections. Lucid saves a lot of time and money on shipping and receiving hard drives
Great Product
What do you like best about the product?
I am able to access our company files on the go and while traveling - that is awesome!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike so far. It is a great product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has always been a headache to save all of our files to our desktops. Now we can all share live files.
Stable, reliable tool
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to use it as a "simple drive" - a lot of the complexity is masked behind the scenes.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to describe to others how many use cases this can help with. Better marketing is needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to have a consistent development/work environment.
