Better than anything Dropbox or Google Drive is doing for cloud storage
What do you like best about the product?
LucidLink is insanely smooth, easy to use, FAST, and simple. Once we have it set up, it makes shared cloud storage overwhelmingly easy and simple that it makes everyone else look clumbsy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I wish LucidLink had was a mobile app and a way to cloud sync for mobile devices like the AppleiPad and Apple iPhone. This would be a big help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink has been instrumental for remote video editing and has allowed us to have people on the opposite sides of the world working on the same project at the same time.
A new way of working on projects that encourages collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
It's ease of use and I don't have to worry about bringing a harddrive back and forth between home and in the office. I also like that I can easily share access to external editors to work on projects and upload footage into without worrying about "disk" space.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because I don't have access to large bandwidth speeds, extra management is needed to make the most of Lucid, such pre-pinning data before working on projects, ensuring down/up speeds aren't consuming the entire office/home bandwidth, otherwise projects can be unworkable. Many features are also used through the command prompt which can put off some users not too familar with using the command prompt. Would be nice to implement more inside the control panel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucid has become a hybrid solution to us for sharing footage with massive file sizes, as well as sharing projects to external editors. It's also flexible in that I can work from home if something comes up, whatever files I have at the office, I have immediate access at home.
The only way to edit videos remotely!
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to access all my projects from any computer without having to wait for downloads.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having to allow system extensions after each Mac OS update. Is what it is but only a slight inconvenience
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our remote editors halfway across the globe can access project files instantaneously. Workflow becomes way faster.
LucidLink can make sense even for the smallest companies
What do you like best about the product?
It's inexpensive first of all. It makes it easy to justify even if I don't get all the benefits out of it that a larger post-production firm might. It's fairly responsive. There have been a few times I have had to "pin" footage to my local cache, but for the most part, it is seamless and just like working off a local drive or NAS.
What do you dislike about the product?
it can be frustrating when footage does have to be "pinned" and doesn't play smoothly. Drone footage has been the biggest issue for this. Uploading the footage initially does slow down how fast I can get started.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We don't do a lot of project sharing between editors, but it does allow for that. I've mostly been using it to share projects with my graphic artist. Easier than consolidating and sending something over Dropbox or Wetransfer. I just tell him it's in the folder, and he can get started.
All that you can ask for.
What do you like best about the product?
The most beneficial aspect of LL is how simple it is to set up and deploy. You can download the app and be ready to go in a few minutes. Plus, the customization of settings allows you to work under several different circumstances without a hitch.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside I have encountered does not have a tablet app, but that's more hopeful thinking. I'm sure the team is working on addressing this issue in the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the most significant issue of working remotely without many hiccups. It makes it easier to work with a variety of talent in many different places at the same time.
Some issues but overall okay
What do you like best about the product?
easy to right click and copy a lucid link to share with others
What do you dislike about the product?
it takes a long time to connect to lucid. and if you try to access a lucid link before it connects, it will break lucid and you have to restart the program
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
easy to send photos and videos in lucid to my editor for documentary projects
Not for bad internet connections
What do you like best about the product?
Makes workflows easy to connect with remote team members
What do you dislike about the product?
If you don't have fibe op or top speed internet connection, the benefits are negated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working on an international project becomes easy to manage file space
A great solution for collaboration with large objects.
What do you like best about the product?
The LucidLink object storage solution is easy to use and easy to manage users. It's great way to collaborate with our internal team and external contractors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Security audit certifications. I would like LucidLink to have ISO audit certified to ensure that our data is safe. Maybe an annual security audit report.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote workforce. LucidLink is helping our marketing department collaborate with each other while storing large objects and making it easily accessible.
Quick and easy storage for a media enterprise
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Lucid Link in my opinion is the ability to compress file sizes for optimal storage. It makes media workflow and orginization far more efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only critique is the sometimes lengthy upload speed of footage. When processing major files, it tends to bog down the system. The process prioritizes uploads in sequential order and can be frustrating when trying to upload multiple prodution shoots at once.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem LL is solving is the connectivity across our enterprise. We are a remote forward company, and the servers make it easy for everyone to connect to different projects.
Somehow they are doing magic...
What do you like best about the product?
That my remote employees can work with the same level of connectivity and speed as we would if we were in the same building together.
What do you dislike about the product?
Streaming files as they are uploading doesn't work as well as LucidLink makes it sound like it should, but everything else works so well, and it's not a feature I actually need. It feels more like a sales gimmick.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem of connecting files to my remote employees at top speeds.
