In my brief time using Lucid I have found it to be a valuable resource for our company
What do you like best about the product?
Lucid Link is incredibly helpful as it allows us to receive assets from people on location almost instantly and start editing sooner than ever before
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes transfer speeds to and from Lucid can be inconsistent even when using a wired connection, however I have found support to be very helpful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As we navigate the ever evolving world of Business post-pandemic, Lucid has been invaluable in allowing us to work collaboratively from the office or remotely.

Changed the entire workflow of our company for the better
What do you like best about the product?
caching in the background and a super solid and simple UI that doesn't overcomplicate things.
What do you dislike about the product?
lack of logging. Lack of SAML integration for other SSO providers other than OKTA/AZURE
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
synching servers between coasts and streaming files from servers used to be a big problem. pinned folders and incredibly fast streaming with the IBM storage highly improved our workflow
Wizardry in Cloud Storage Form
What do you like best about the product?
Instant access to files, no syncing, ease of user management
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't share a file with someone who doesn't have a lucidlink account/user
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using it as our place to store everything! And integration with Iconik allows us to have a powerful MAM system linked!
LucidLink is an absolute game changer for us -- allows us half our team to work remotely.
What do you like best about the product?
Really great syncing technology that lets us edit 4k footage from the cloud. Far less time required than if you'd have to download the entire file like most services require you to do. Also - the options to create backups on our own schedule is essential. We've basically replaced our on-site NAS with LucidLink.
Also - the ability to pin project folders that you'll be working on so that the entire folder is locally downloaded on your device.

What do you dislike about the product?
Costs can quickly skyrocket, especially when you start storing 20+TB like we have. There are definitely cheaper options for cloud storage, but the sync technology is second to none for video.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With half of our team working from out of the office, using LucidLink to store and sync many TB's of 4k video helps us work as a team to finish projects. With solutions like Dropbox, there are often duplicates created -- not the case with Lucidlink.
Great for remote workflows
What do you like best about the product?
Speed of getting data from one user to another.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be super helpful if there was Google SSO integration
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Makes it easier to work in a hybrid environment with some staff at home and some in office
LucidLink has come along at the perfect time.
What do you like best about the product?
For us, LucidLink is working as advertised. It has eliminated time consuming file transfers. We're working remotely and at our studio in a truly collaborative environment. We've tied in clients so that they have immediate and up to date access to our deliverables. Perhaps most exciting is that LucidLink has increased our capacity for working within the constraints of tight turnarounds and deadlines as we are right now in the process of bringing freelancers onboard from a different continent to help with an upcoming scheduling crunch. This is something that we had no experience with or the inclination to even attempt before LucidLink. The final positive note would have to be how much time it's freed up - I no longer need to setup, maintain or troubleshoot a local storage array. I can have a new Fielspace up and running with users added in 5 minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this time there are a couple of quality of life improvements that we'd like to see. These are an indication of how much time is estimated to be remaining when you pin files/folders to your local cache. Would also like to see an estimated time remaining when files are uploading. And finally, would like the option to flush the local cache with the click of a button.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our capacity has increased. We no longer have to limit ourselves to finding local freelancers to come aboard for a project. We were having no luck finding someone local for an upcoming project, however we've just done a little test with 2 different European based freelancers with great success.
Efficient but Lacking Clear Archiving Workflow
What do you like best about the product?
LucidLink Classic has proven to be a solid solution for managing working files, especially for our production and creative teams at Wieden+Kennedy. One of the platform's standout features is its seamless integration with Finder on macOS. This integration makes it incredibly easy to access, browse, and manage files as if they were locally stored, which is a major plus for our team working across multiple projects simultaneously. Additionally, the cloud-based nature of LucidLink allows for real-time collaboration, eliminating the need for complex file-sharing setups and ensuring that our team members are always working with the most up-to-date files.
Another major positive is the ease of implementation. LucidLink integrates smoothly with Okta and uses the SSO file space key, making setup quick and efficient. This seamless integration with our existing authentication system simplifies user management and ensures secure access across the team.

What do you dislike about the product?
Despite the benefits, LucidLink does fall short in one key area: archiving. The platform lacks a clear or intuitive archiving workflow, which becomes problematic as files accumulate over time. Without an efficient way to archive or move older projects, we risk cluttering the workspace and losing the ability to easily access past files when needed. This has led to some inefficiency in managing storage, as we have to rely on manual systems to ensure older files are properly archived or cleaned up.
LucidLink’s cloud-based storage is fantastic for active file management, but it would greatly benefit from a more structured approach to archiving or automating this process. Additionally, while LucidLink does a great job of providing fast access to working files, the overall storage management could be more flexible, allowing teams to have more control over file organization and archiving.
Another significant downside is the confusing documentation. The rollout of the new version of LucidLink versus the classic version was not as clear as it could have been, making it difficult for teams to understand the changes and how to implement them correctly. The documentation could be more straightforward to help users better navigate the transition and ensure proper implementation across different versions of the platform.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink has significantly addressed the problem of managing and storing files on on-premise servers. By moving our storage to the cloud, we've eliminated the need for costly and resource-intensive on-site infrastructure. This transition has streamlined our workflow by providing secure, fast, and easy access to files from anywhere, allowing our production and creative teams to collaborate in real time without the limitations of physical servers. The cloud-based nature of LucidLink also enhances scalability, allowing us to adjust our storage needs quickly without worrying about hardware upgrades or maintenance. This move has not only reduced overhead costs but also improved overall efficiency and flexibility for our teams, supporting seamless collaboration and quicker access to critical project files.
We love it, our marketing department is finally able to do what they need.
What do you like best about the product?
It's fast and secure for remote access. no VPN required
What do you dislike about the product?
We have been using Lucidlink for only a short period, but so far nothing negative to report.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucidlink gave us a platform that works across multiple departments.
Loving Lucid Link!!
What do you like best about the product?
I like how it's something I can install on all computers and work in different places knowing my projects, photos, etc. will all sync. It's very reilable! I would highly reccomend.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ocassionally, it disconnects from my filespace. It can be frusterating to use, but it's not common that I run across that problem. That would be my only dislike!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's solving me having to use external SD or HDD drives. Less cables, less internal storage on my hard drives and I can access files from work or home, all within a matter of minutes!
