LucidLink has revolutionised the way we work
What do you like best about the product?
One of the biggest benefits of LucidLink is how easy it is to move existing storage and workflows to the platform as users interact with it in exactly the same way they are accustomed to.
It was incredibly easy for us to take our existing on-prem file shares and move all of that to the cloud almost overnight.

What do you dislike about the product?
There really are very few downsides that we have come across.
Possible areas for improvement are:
•Usage reporting and quotas
•Client patching in enterprise environments

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink has allowed us to virtually eliminate our VPN usage whilst also allowing significantly quicker access to our data for users working from home.
It allowed us to amalgamate lots of separate on-prem file servers into a single system, all located in the cloud, thus reducing hardware requirements on-prem.
We also use it to back a number of our workflow and pipeline services which has allowed us to modernise these processes.

Fast and reliable, able to edit 4k footage from the cloud.
What do you like best about the product?
Our media is available to all our editors at any location that has a reliable internet connection. Our plan is scalable as our projects grow. The ability to mount the cloud share as a removable disk makes searching in OSX finder much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
To no fault of the service, the minimum internet speed isn't always achievable. You have to plan ahead and pin your files to a local or removable hard drive. The other main issue is installing the Lucid Client app. It can be tricky on Apple computers, as you have to disable some security protocols. This has led to some vendors/clients not wanting to use the app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our local media server is outdated and out of room. We were relying on external hard drives to share media, which was messy to say the least. Lucid makes storing, organizing, accessing and sharing media seamless.
Their solution is in the cloud but their service is very well grounded
What do you like best about the product?
It is changing the way we work globally and how we collaborate with creatives/editors around the world, in the most effective way possible.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is new; there are technical issues and teething problems but they are very keen to help and work through them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Replacing clunky uploading and downloading and sneakernet, allowing us to centralize our editing and creative ecosystem.
Game Changer
What do you like best about the product?
Working on team projects in Lucid Link is a dream. Being able to hand off and collaborate on edits in real time, with no upload/downloading is massive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some team members have trouble with speed depending on their internet situations, but pinning is a solution to this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucid Link has significantly sped up our workflow and ability to produce more deliverables in multimedia.
Production coordinator
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that you can work off of your local desktop, no hardrives
What do you dislike about the product?
If bad internet, hard to edit. Even though that makes it challenging on your end
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
outages have decreased in last year
A simplistic way to collaborate with colleagues
What do you like best about the product?
It looks just like I am working on a local drive. I didn't need to learn anything new or wait for anything to download. Sending large files via fedex or thumb drives is the only alternative.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I accidentally delete something, but I found there is always a copy, so it was easy to retrieve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes collaborating with my teams around the world seamless.
Great Solution for Remote Workflows
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful thing about Lucid is being able to access your project from anywhere, pending a strong internet connection. I'd likened Lucid to Dropbox or Google Drive, and while Lucid still has to sync the media you use, it's much better than downloading it from the platforms I mentioned. It's beneficial for project handoff, media turnovers, and just keeping the projects all in one place!
What do you dislike about the product?
Lucid's biggest downfall for me has been its dependence on STRONG internet connection, as well as using Lucid alongside other platforms that require the connection. While Lucid is great for providing access, like Google Drive and Dropbox, you'd still need to have somewhat decent internet to really see Lucid shine. For example, I work for a media production company on the post-production end, and I offered Lucid as a solution for our remote editors. Since most of them work from home, the servers at our facility don't give them the strongest connection to access files, and sometimes they won't be able to access them at all! At our facility, Lucid is fantastic, but remotely, it can be laggy, slow, and it takes up a lot of bandwidth to sync the media being used, so a lot of times, our editors end up having to copy the files from Lucid onto their hard drives to work locally; one of them even upgraded their internet to experience Lucid at its best.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lucid is great for remote workflows and provides instant access to files from anywhere!
Easy collaboration in the Cloud
What do you like best about the product?
- The learning curve for LucidLink is very minimal.
- Sending links to other people that will go directly to a project folder or file.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could set up a notification system of when files have been uploaded. Would be great to implement that to a slack channel or an email.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink is allowing my team to work with people from around the world. We can resource more people. We also have a centralized location for all of our projects which makes the archiving process a lot easier.
Impressive Potential; Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I love that my workspace mounts directly in Finder (or Windows Explorer) and behaves as if it was an external HD. Great way to collaborate with remote team members and access files from both my Windows desktop workhorse and Mac laptop. "Pinning" is a very important feature to master for Basic users.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it were easier to keep a cache on an external HD. You have to be really careful and specific about the order of operations when mounting and dismounting your external HD and Lucid workspace, otherwise you risk rebuilding the cache from scratch, which at least with Lucid Basic takes a long time and costs you hours of editing. My remote editor also claims that her computer runs slower when Lucid is mounted. It's possible there's some user error but overall I would not describe the process of adopting Lucid into our workflow as exactly seamless. Once we work out the kinks I think this will become a core part of our workflow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to collaborate remotely with other editors in other states and to smoothly hand off projects from one person to another (for example, when one editor is assembling videos and another is adding motion graphics and an audio mix.)
Good experience but I think that the service is too expensive
What do you like best about the product?
The upside of using LucidLink is that I don't have to worry about my storage when I am working online.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that the suscription is too expensive, I would love to use the service if it was cheaper.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink is helping me as a storage source for my business
