Fast secure connections
What do you like best about the product?
I like the speed that I can upload and share files with my team. Having a connection that syncs with the entire team is very valuable.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike is having to add Postlabs to enable bin locking with Lucid.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I not longer have to shuttle drives between my teammates.
LucidLink - A Truely Unique Cloud-Storage Solution for Multimedia-Heavy Workflows
What do you like best about the product?
The simple fact that the drive mounts and appears natively on the client computer. No web interfaces, no downloading individual files or zip archives. Browse the files and directories as easily as if it were on your own local and removable drives. Being able to quickly view thumbnails and previews of files without having to download them in it's entirety makes it a must when working with large files.
What do you dislike about the product?
There doesn't appear to be a way to utilise a local appliance/server hardware to cache data on-premise, which would be useful as even with multi-gigabit connections, bandwidth does come at a premium and time-cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink is solving our need for a flexible storage solution that allows local and remote access of large video, audio and image files, to be shared with a team scattered geographically. Being able to work with these files with minimal delay even if they are not downloaded locally is a big advantage.
Underlying tech is fantastic.
What do you like best about the product?
One centralised location for all media globally or per region. Lucid 2.0 is a vast improvement, especially for larger filespaces.
What do you dislike about the product?
Technology is still new and takes some users getting used too, but thats not really a lucidlink issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote and hybrid working. Less footprint in the office, no need to shuttle hard drives. With fast internet (1GbE+) it's much faster to get media globally.
Great way to share data with your team
What do you like best about the product?
LucidLink's seamless integration with the operating system, granular permissions and high performance make it very easy to share documents internally. The fact that it works just like any other share without forcing us into a proprietary and hard to use interface like many other systems make it very attractive to our team.
What do you dislike about the product?
The system works very well. One should be careful with the password of the admin account which is pretty much impossible to recover, but that in itself means that there is no one who can possibly access our data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a small company, sharing files with a distributed team is always a challenge. We have used systems like One Drive and Google Drive in the past, and always found them over-intrusive and clunky. LucidLink is seamlessly there to be used when needed, without getting in the way like One Drive. Performance is also light years ahed.
Solid, but expensive software. The desktop UI could be easier to use
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to drag and drop files from my Mac desktop into my PC cloud system with LucidLink
What do you dislike about the product?
The "floating" control panel and lack of a standard Mac desktop app is not intuitive. The cost to use it outweighs its utility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy transfer of files from my Mac desktop into my cloud-based PC system.
Very smooth software. Only ever had a couple problems that support was quick to help!
What do you like best about the product?
It allows me and my team to work from anywhere with internet and act like we're all on the same network in the same room! Sharing files with people literally across the country with ease has helped expand the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Transfer speeds can be finicky if you're a long distance from the server. Also some symbols aren't allowed in naming files but that's a minor thing for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team and I used to have to be in the same room in order to get our job done. Now we just need a decent internet connection. We've been able to expand our team by not requiring them to live in a specific location and our current team has gained flexibility in being able to work from anywhere with internet.
Incredible software. I can build a large infrastructure around this
What do you like best about the product?
Instant access to the entire folder structure. Steaming the data is incredible. Pinning folders makes life so lovely.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cache can invalidate easily. Annoying but not even close to a show stopper
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Access data anywhere in the word instantly.
One of the most cutting edge technology in Data Accessibility
What do you like best about the product?
Greatly enhances end-user experience. They love better speed to data access.
What do you dislike about the product?
Response from the sales team is not that great. Very Slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
End user getting localised experience
Incredible collaboration in a remote post-production environment
What do you like best about the product?
Lucidlink has allowed us to distribute an Adobe Premiere Pro Productions cloud NAS environment to post-production team members across the USA. The real-time syncing of project data seamlessly allows for collaboration and has enhanced our workflow immensely.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only potential downside I see is the lack of web interface to access the environment, but thankfully the desktop software is lightweight, functional, and regularly updated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the old times, an editor, producer, and director would all need to be physically in person to be able to collaborate on an edit. Now, Lucidlink allows the distribution and automatic backup of projects so everyone can work from their own homes.
This is how the cloud should have worked from the start.
What do you like best about the product?
Absolutely gamechanging product. Makes us want to get rid of all on-prem.
What do you dislike about the product?
The way it handles caching is a little counterintuitive, but that's just because you have to change the way you think about cloud services thanks to LucidLink
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's so easy to make sure remote workers always have access to the latest versions of assets.
