Overall amazing all-in-one software for narrative feature films.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it can handle both offline editorial media using an NLE, but it can also be used as a file transfer system between different departments.
What do you dislike about the product?
As the administrator, I would like more remote capabilities to monitor other users on Lucid. It would also be great to have the ability to play higher resolution media without the need for pinning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to edit a narrative studio feature film with an entire crew that is remote.
This is the best system we have adopted in the past 2 years
What do you like best about the product?
The seamless integration within our team. How it all happens in the background, all files are accessible but are not eating up my memory
What do you dislike about the product?
The constant updates, feels like it happens a couple of times a month.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Onbaording freelancers for projects was a pain normally resulting in an extra day just to onboard and share files. Now it only take s a couple of minutes.
LucidLink Transformed Our Remote Film Editing Workflow
What do you like best about the product?
LucidLink gives our post-production team the speed and stability we need for remote film editing. The platform handles our files without transfer issues or lag. We work with files of all sizes and complex naming conventions, and LucidLink accommodates these needs without forcing us to change our established workflow. The cloud storage feels like a local drive but with the benefit of team access from anywhere. Connection speed remains consistent and stable.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing structure, while good in theory and decent value, requires careful planning for storage needs as costs can increase quickly and silently. We have been caught with large unexpected bills on multiple occasions. There could be a way to track it more actively to get a real time accurate understanding of how much space we're using and how much the current bill is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink hosts our project files and some smaller media files for our feature film post production team. We need a stable constant connection while working in Premiere and sharing access.
Lucidlink is a lifesaver for remote editing
What do you like best about the product?
I have had an extremely positive experience using Lucidlink for the last four years every day. Through this service you never have to reconnect another file, and all remote editors can work together as if they were in the same location on one server. It's easy to setup, and customer support is great if needed. Very fast to integrate in to your existing workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is not a dislike, but a caveat. Connection speed matters, and multiple 4K files of original media and not Proxys might affect performance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Connecting remote editors to all use one copy of media.
Great for WFH home team
What do you like best about the product?
Hassle free and reliable, it seamlessly integrated in our workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to have a better tool to organize the cache folder. Have a better way of finding what is cached and what isn't
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We all work from home (7 editors) Lucid made it simple for us to share projects
My LucidLink Review
What do you like best about the product?
Seamless, no hassle collaboration working remotely with a team with a complex vfx/animation pipeline
What do you dislike about the product?
Only trouble I had was operating either LucidLink vs LucidLink Classic. Also had some issues with the whole system not posting properly when the project database got too full, but that could have been due to the limitations of my own hardware.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solves the issue of file sharing working remotely in a fast paced connected workflow with many members updating projects real time.
Lucid Review
What do you like best about the product?
the best thing is can share files with my team in real time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I needed to put the shared link on my explorer file and not on the lucid app ,this is something that at the beginning i didn't know and was not very intuitive. At least for lucid link classic
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The delay of preparing a file to share on another platform, with Lucid it is instantaneous
Gamechanging software
What do you like best about the product?
- File blocking technology to enable immediate playback in Premiere / Resolve rather than having to cache an entire video file.
- Caching to external SSD.
- Cache to timeline range only.
- Integration with Frame.io
- Premiere Pro panel extension is very well designed.

What do you dislike about the product?
- Inability to migrate a project cache residing on an external SSD from one computer to another (e.g. if you have to move edit suites) / cache resets.
- All data is encrypted meaning you have to use to app to access.
- Lack of metrics for things like file caching ETA, data throughput etc.
- Sharing & playback of file links. Classic app only supports another user who has a mounted volume & playback via a traditional media app.
- Deletion of cache is still done via Terminal. This needs to be built into the app

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lack of access to a SAN storage for external freelancers.
it is great. quicker than a standard server.
What do you like best about the product?
i like the interface that tells me how much more the files have to upload before being complete.i also like how i can customize permissions.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it had a phone/ipad app. it would be handy to be able to access files away from the desktop.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
speed and ease of use. easy logins,
Amazing tool for collaborative video editing
What do you like best about the product?
I like how I can upload files directly to it, and don't have to have local hard drive space available on my system. It's easy to setup and manage. I can work collaboratively with assistant editors and other editors on the same project using the same media without having to deal with relinking of managing the remote work aspect of the project. It's a great tool to use with Avid Media Composer or Premiere pro. I love how you can set different workspaces for different projects and pay for the storage that you need for each one individually. I love how I can access the media and project from anywhere, I can go to a coffee shop and work if i want and not have to worry about lugging around hard drives. I use it every day for most of my projects and it even keeps me more organized then having a bunch of different hard drives.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a little slow when working in premiere. I usually have to make proxies for all video media, which is an extra step and can sometimes cause media issues intermittenly throughout the project. But it works great with avid, whose whole workflow is proxy based anyway. Just store the avid mediafiles on lucid! It could also be because of my connection, I usually use over wifi with my laptop and if i was hard wired in, it might be faster. Or it could be a problem with Premiere, because theres always a problem with premiere.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working collaboratively on remote video editing projects and filmmaking.
