Good alternate if you can't have a traditional server
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the LucidLink has many characteristics and usage of a traditional server.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's been cumbersom when trying to share files with coworkers, who have to go and create an account to access the files.
Also, don't like the that Workspace dashboard pops-up EVERYTIME I click on a new link.Have it show the first initial time, but stop after that.

It replaces a traditional server for storing and sharing files.
LucidLink Review – A Reliable Part of Our Daily Workflows
What do you like best about the product?
We use LucidLink daily to transfer video files from our MAM to local machines, and it’s been a great addition to our setup. It’s easy to use — feels just like working off a local drive — and the ability to stream large video files without full downloads has saved us a lot of time.
Integration was simple and seamless. It fit right into our existing workflow without needing any major changes or extra support. Overall, it’s a reliable, efficient solution that’s made a real difference for our team.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only hiccup we’ve noticed is that sometimes there’s a bit of lag between pushing files from the MAM and them showing up on local machines. It’s not a dealbreaker, but as a sports company and the primary day-to-day being conversations, we never know where talent will take the conversation so grabbing an asset in real time is helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink gives NFL Media the ability to move video files from our main MAM via EVS systems to our local computers where we use vMix Production software. With it we are able to file transfer almost in real time, and drop seamlessly into live productions.
The best collaborative tool for freelancers and content creator teams
What do you like best about the product?
LucidLink is the best match of storage solutions and team collaboration. This tool save creatives time and allows you to have the freedom that freelancers love. You can edit, make changes or review anything instantly wherever or whenever you want. This tool has helped me differentiate myself from the competition. Any editor edits, but only a few know which tool improves the workflow of an entire team. That's key to why my clients choose me over any other filmmaker, and I think it's a tool more people should know about.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price. I think 27 usd per member is difficult to sustain over time. I think it would be better to have a fixed price and the chance to have limit members, not a price per member.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Download time.
Travel to the studio to organize material.
Purchase of ssd to store and edit material.
The need of carrying hard drives everywhere.
If you're out of town and the client needs a "last minute fast change" you can do it or ask one of your team to do it without reconnecting the content.

Top product for working remote
What do you like best about the product?
I am doing edit work for a Dutch client while I am living in Sweden.
It works pretty smooth and fast!
Its like if we work on the same place, but thats not what it is!
I can even render the files from Davinci Resolve inside LucidLink without export!

What do you dislike about the product?
It can be my computer, or the program. But my computer is bit more laggy if I use files from the shared LucidLink map.
But its already fast, for the rest I could not find anything.

Great for collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I was able to collaborate with co-workers on projects in real time. Also, that I could easily upload large files directly from my local folders with ease.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit slow at times and the application updates always seem to occur at inopportune times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LucidLink helped our team to get our projects done faster since multiple people can work on the same file simultaneously.
Excellent tool for bring multiplePeople together
What do you like best about the product?
Simple user setup with flexible and simple sharing for all types of user.
I have used this for a fast delivery documentary, gelled all users together and simplified submission of content, viewing and submission of content for finishing.
Using again for a slower turn around for logging and sharing of multiple archive sources. Solves many problems.
It’s not a mam or a system as such, you need to have a plan but it’s a very flexible sharing platform. Users need to think about budgets though as it is easy to get carried away!

What do you dislike about the product?
Long term cost projection. It’s good for controlled one offs. Longer term management would become an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Giving users access to lots of content quickly and efficiently. Many users have multiple places of work so lucid is able to follow them in an easy way.
It Just Works
What do you like best about the product?
It just works! The files are there. Copying files to the server is fast and you can work on the files even before the upload is "complete". I can edit video over WiFi at home. The assets link and are accessible within a few moments even without the Premiere plugin. Managing accounts for new employees and access is pretty quick and easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software updates are pretty regular. I guess they're needed but it's a little annoying. I think the "extra steps" associated with Mac M chips has gone away but that was a pain, especially when setting up a new computer for a new employee.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're a remote only company with employees across the metroplex and some in other states. It gives us all access to the same files instantly. A little server organization goes a long way.
A very effective software that opens up new workflow possibilities
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it opens up a world of remote collaboration that was previously impossible. Your workflow becomes so flexible and it even makes me feel a bit closer to working in person with my team members. The fact I can share files with them almost instantly is amazing. It intergrated very quickly and easy into our existing workflow. Overall it's very easy to use once it's set up (most people can forget they're using it as it intergrates so cleanly into the normal file explorer. The ability to browse files from the web browser is a nice addition. Uploads and downloads seem faster than downloading through a browser. The support when raising a ticket has always been incredibly fast and helpful!
What do you dislike about the product?
One downside is that if Lucid fails to connect, you're then kicked out of accessing your files. I know there was a major outage last year so that is a concerning thought. It feels like having a local backup of your files is the safest thing, though that does then defeat the bonus of streaming files through Lucid rather than downloading them all.
With the launch of the 'new lucid link' it is annoying how it was shipped without some key basic settings being part of the app (e.g. changing download/upload speeds). Though I gather these may be being worked on.
The Premiere Pro extension seems buggy on Macs.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our problem was that our team is spread around the world, and often needs to collaborate on projects without much pre-warning. Previously, once we knew that a video editor would need to pass a project to another, it would take them hours to sort the project out and upload it somewhere, and then hours for the new editor to download it, and often during this process files would be missed. It was also very hard for editors and assistant editors to collaborate in real time due to the disconnect of being remote workers. LucidLink allows our assistants and editors to work within the same projects with the same files. And new editors can jump into a project very quickly.
Pretty Good
What do you like best about the product?
it's very convenient to upload to a cloud for a rather large team to be able to work out of.
What do you dislike about the product?
You have to consistently keep it linked.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps our team work collaboratively easily. Especially for things like editing video
