Surprisingly fast remote work at a reasonable price, but not perfect
What do you like best about the product?
I use LucidLink to allow my remote colleagues to access and edit large (10-40 GB) amounts of footage quickly (i.e. without having to download anything) and turn around edits quickly. I work in podcasting and episodes need to turn around fast, and uploading + downloading massive files takes ages, especially with home WiFi. LucidLink allows us to cut out the downloading part entirely.
What do you dislike about the product?
LucidLink can occasionally be buggy and confusing to use, encountering errors like "failed to mount" with little to no troubleshooting guides existing online. There are also simple features (like being able to rename your workspace) that don't exist. I understand there are likely technical reasons or limitations preventing these features from being implemented, but they still cause a level of frustration during use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our office WiFi is decent, but our remote employees use their home internet. Those speeds vary. When turning around video episodes of our podcast quickly, downloading AND uploading (sometimes multiple times) is a huge time sink. This allows us to upload once, and never worry about downloading.
An efficient way to do remote video editing through the cloud.
What do you like best about the product?
Makes remote video editing seamless by allowing immediate access to large media files directly from the cloud without the need for time-consuming downloads. Its integration with Premiere Pro and consistent performance across teams in different locations have been game-changers for my workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup may seem a bit technical for non-IT users, and occasional latency spikes can occur with slower connections. Future updates should incorporate more intuitive onboarding resources and optimize for variable internet speeds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The need to store large amounts of video data on my computer or local storage for editing.
LucidLink has enabled us to work with freelancers and other job specific artists faster.
What do you like best about the product?
I really love and appreciate the speed to which LucidLink uploads and downloads data. The 'streaming' component of transferring files really is a game changer.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing matrix can sometimes be weird to figure out. LucidLink Classic vs LucidLink is a little weird and cumbersome. There's definitely a difference in feature parity and the rollout of the new product was a little odd. Definitely not a show stopped, but something to note.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting data to artists
Very useful software for remote teams
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can save files in shared folders while I’m working, so my team can access at any time
What do you dislike about the product?
I have no idea at the moment, all is great! Wouldn’t change anything
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use lucid because I’m working in a remote team and we can save there files so they’re accessible everywhere and by everyone
Better than expected
What do you like best about the product?
The app works. That by itself is impressive. It's cutting-edge and not nearly as buggy as it could be. I've been able to deliver high-level commercial work from across the continent without too many hiccups.
What do you dislike about the product?
You will probably run into the occasional slowdown or strange bug. I work in Premiere Pro; that software is buggy enough, and LucidLink probably adds another 30% or so to the chance of a project file crashing. Having said that, crashes are kinda the name of the game if you're a video editor. Just set up your autosaves and you'll be good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to work remotely with clients who care about preserving control over their data.
Good experience
What do you like best about the product?
Streaming files without occupying local storage space
What do you dislike about the product?
I can’t change location for the Volume disk
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy file manage
It's an amazing way to share files.. But a bit pricey
What do you like best about the product?
It's as easy as dragging files to the desktop.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's very expensive, I'd really like a cheaper option, even if it's far slower. The freelance monthly price does not even buy one SD card worth of storage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a reliable way to share a lot of data online without worrying about uploads crashing. I am primarily using it for the reliability. Speed is important, but I like to know that it won't crash half way.
Efficient Cloud File Access
What do you like best about the product?
Unlike traditional cloud storage, LucidLink allows me to access large files instantly without downloading them, which significantly improves collaboration across remote teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
When the connection is weak or inconsistent, file access can become laggy or interrupted, which affects productivity. A bit more flexibility in pricing tiers could make it more accessible
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
solves the problem of remote file access and collaboration, especially for teams working with large files like videos, graphics, or design assets. Instead of needing to download and sync everything locally, I can stream files directly from the cloud, which saves a lot of time and storage space.

What do you dislike about the product?
The premium version has nice features some of them should be here as well
