Awesome Tool for Product Teams

  • May 24, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Productboard allows us to build the lifecycle of a feature, from its Ideation, Consideration, Development, and Release. We can create public views for multiple Stakeholders so everyone can see what's happening with each feature. And we can manage everything with prioritization scores that are public and reduce the classic "why is this feature being built" questioning.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't have a simulation tool to rearrange features by date and see the impact of possible delays. You can see features on the timeline view, but it is not comfortable enough to play with it. Also, it is not possible to translate to other languages the Portal function (in case you have non-English speaker users)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are giving visibility to the whole feature prioritization process. That way, everyone knows the impact of adding unexpected features to future sprints.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Before productboard, we use to administrate our backlog on other platforms that weren't thought to be "Product administration software." As a result, it was hard to show what we had in the Roadmap to other people. We were swarmed by people asking us every day, "when is this feature going to be ready" or "why is this feature not being built". With productboard, we reduced those interactions heavily, as all the information is centralized and available for any Stakeholder. We don't have shared spreadsheets with feature requests anymore, and the implementation was quite simple. It's more about the willingness to change your company rather than the platform complexity.

Godsend for organized product managers

  • May 24, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to see my features in multiple views is killer- it was chaotic to do it on excel earlier
What do you dislike about the product?
The scale plan is super expensive and contributors can't do much, so hard to make it useful for non-PMs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organize my work as a PM
Consolidate customer feedback and insights in one place
Have a great way to display the roadmap and collect customer feedback on that
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Awesome tool if you are an organized product manager. Great to give visibility to different teams- and no, JIRA can't replace it.

So many untapped features

  • May 24, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We have been very happy with productboard so far. The customer service has been great when we needed it. There are so many great features, many of them we haven't even tapped into yet. Below is a list of features we do use and are happy with:
- The interface
- Integrations
-- Slack
-- Jira
- Ease of use
- Has all the features we need and then many more
- Prioritization scores
- Impact and driver scores
What do you dislike about the product?
- Can be hard to organize many features and subfeatures
- Subfeatures do not inherit release date from parent
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are utilizing productboard to organize our feature requests from customers and internal feedback. Productboard has helped us to prioritize features and ideas. It gives our product team a place to work without polluting our Jira board, and once we are happy, we can quickly create epics, features, and tasks with the Jira integration.

Great tool to iterate quickly in a startup environment

  • May 24, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Productboard joins customer feedback with a long-term roadmap. In a rapidly changing startup environment, that's essential.

You can finally ditch the Excel spreadsheets, Slack messages and stop saying "I think that this is valuable to customers...".

By creating a relationship between feedback and features, you finally knows what features will create the most value at a glance, making for an easy priorization.

It is easy to share and collaborate together on roadmaps, and by building your views your own way, you have a lot of leeway as a power user.

Support has also been very helpful and attentive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Productboard works best when it has integrations with your development tool of choice. Right now we use Clubhouse, and the integration is currently in development. This results in some manual work and fragmentation.

It has a learning curve, but Productboard's learning materials and workshops are good. Maybe some ready-to-use templates for a basic Agile methodology would work wonders here.

Bug support could be a little better. It feels a little bolted on right now. As bugs are an integral part of the customer experience and directly affects the roadmap (if you have a policy of fixing bugs before working on new features), I think some built-in support would be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Productboard, we finally can direct our product to features that generate the most impact. We felt a little lost before, re-doing roadmaps every month and having a lot of manual work in spreadsheets and guesswork of what really matters. Now, we can collaborate on a centralized roadmap together with evidence of what's really important. When you are time-constrained, it is a real game changer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to configure and customize Productboard to your needs. It will pay off in the medium term.

Love PB

  • May 24, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The insights feature, the browser add-on, the aggregation of insights into bigger themes, and then how it bleeds into the roadmap.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like for it to enable broader interaction across our company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It offers us one central hub to aggregate feedback so that our product team can see. It then allows our product team to take the insights and feedback and assign projects related to them.

It also allows for company viisibiility into what has been prioritized and made its way onto the roadmap.

I have recommended ProductBoard several times because of the integration with zendesk

  • May 24, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Integration with Zendesk,
- demand aggregation tools
- Recently, custom fields and field-based swimlanes have been very helpful
What do you dislike about the product?
- I'd like to be able to create multiple tiers of nested objectives
- Logging new features is cumbersome when done from a filtered list (I have views set up for each of my scrum teams, and it requires a lot of clicking)
- Additional tools for drafting roadmaps would be hugely beneficial -- currently, I need to use airtable for high-level planning and presentations to executives
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- We use ProductBoard to coordinate with our support team on customer requests
- I manage a backlog for each scrum team I manage in product board
- I use roadmaps to track feature development and communication tools
Recommendations to others considering the product:
- ProductBoard is a great tool for organizing and synthesizing the work of your product team
- It integrates nicely with other tools and makes aggregating demand easy
- But depending on the size of your organization ProductBoard could easily break the bank, as the current pricing strategy makes it extremely expensive to collaborate
- If you can foot the bill, though -- it is a great tool, and I would definitely recommend using it
