Great product management tool that's build by people that know product best practices.

What do you like best about the product?
Product Board makes it super easy to process lots of data coming in into meaningful action items for a product team to execute on. Its growing integrations make it even more useful by pulling in helpful data on our customers from Salesforce and having connections to pull in product feedback from Slack, Gmail, and Zendesk
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to see Product Board integrate with other tools we use like ClickUp. Just recently they announced new integrations to make more syncing between platforms possible but it involves creating our own API to manage interactions between the two platforms which takes costly development time.
The road mapping tool is somewhat new and quickly improving. When we first tried it out it had many limitations but quickly gained enough features to become useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to quickly intake and organize all of our product feedback into an actionable prioritized list of features. Before Product Board, we didn't have a good product feedback loop. Being able to prioritize based on RICE scores alongside user prioritization scores.

Powerful ecosystem of tools that have become a central part of my workflow

What do you like best about the product?
Productboard has a simple learning curve that makes it easy to get started and becomes more powerful the more you invest in it. The way the four primary workspaces are interconnected (Insights, Features, Roadmap, and Portal) makes it a pleasure to use.

The bread and butter of my workflow involves leveraging Zapier automations and the integration with Jira. Both work flawlessly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I use the Roadmap section the least because it's not central to my role, but if I had to nitpick, I can't load images directly into the 'Detail' section of the features modal.

You are, of course, able to attach files to this section, but I would benefit from being able to display them. My use case is that I have a weekly bug grooming session over Zoom, and when I need to walk my colleagues through an issue, loading attachments breaks the seamlessness of the screen share.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing bug reporting, content issue reports, feature requests, and feedback from a large pool of beta testers
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Productboard is the simplest and most powerful way to consolidate hundreds of unique pieces of feedback and discussions relevant to my team's products.

The integrations with Zapier and the Chrome extension make collecting Insights easy.

The Integration with Jira makes hand-over and tracking issues straightforward.

The cherry on the cake is the Portal, which makes the work our team is doing visible to our users, and closing the loop with relevant stakeholders (both internal and external) a simple process.

It's not that intuitive in relation to how you can use it as an internal interaction tool.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to concentrate feature requests into a single place
What do you dislike about the product?
Roadmaps could be more intuitive and the portal could be easier to handle.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collecting features requests
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a good product to gather all of the suggested features on the same place.

The ideal tool for Product Managers

What do you like best about the product?
Everything about productboard except one little thing (see the following comment). Features and Roadmap are the best options to work in a long-term planning, with stakeholders, and with my team. We are currently testing Portal feature and it looks awesome!
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of the reports feature, I have to do it manually every time I need a report (for example, User Stories by categories)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With productboard, I can plan in a long-term way the next sprints and quarters for my team. Before productboard, the User Stories and Bugs were all messy and on various platforms at the same time. Now everything is in one place, and with the Roadmap feature, we can see beyond that mess and plan the future of our products. Another benefit I have is that with the Insights feature, I can collect A LOT of feedback from our clients and people of Cliengo so we can constantly upgrade our Backlog.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You will have to dedicate a lot of time, but that's good! With productboard, a world of options and alternatives open in front of you. Go ahead!

Excellent for an Agile transformation

What do you like best about the product?
Using the real-time integration with Jira keeps our releases and documentation synced. Being able to communicate business objectives and user insights on the feedback level helps make product/dev collaboration more impactful.I like being able to customize the releases, tasks, and tags. I typically create shareable custom views for each stakeholder group. The hierarchy and filters are easy to use but allow enough flexibility to create really tailored roadmaps. Feeding HelpDesk tickets into our insights inbox allows us to constantly validate features with real user feedback.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would prefer to have the ability to sync dates between features and Jira's epic progress back to my road map. That would be a gamechanger! The Slack integration is helpful for sharing changes but it doesn't allow enough customization for our organization. I'd like to be able to use a pre-set prioritization framework as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are rolling all of our product and development work up to our business objectives so Productboard helps to keep us on track with prioritizing effort where we will have the most impact without getting distracted. It's a great tool to use if you have a problem maintainig focus across stakeholders on your product vision. We have been using the Productboard to sync our high level vision all the way down to the granular task level. I am overseeing a portfolio of product lines and this is also very useful for that since I can associate feedback and features across multiple products and roll them up to a single objective.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get your product hierarchy nailed down and it will be very simple and intuitive to use. I use themes-based components and that helps to guide how features are structured. Don't be afraid to use emoji to call attention to specific features and make stakeholders smile.

Great product. Wish we could use it to it's fullest extent

What do you like best about the product?
I like how our team can collect customer feedback from many different places and funnel them into Product Board. I also really like the ability to rank features according to our organization and customer needs. I'd really like to start using the matrix which helps our stakeholders make decisions rather than by opinions. I've just started to use the portal to collect additional feedback from our customers. This wasn't a feature that helped me purchase the product but has become a mainstay for us and our customers. We were having a hard time communicating our roadmap with our customers and now we're able to do so with ease. Overall, Product Board takes the guesswork out of decision making for which features we should be developing and when.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Jira integration was suitable for creating some continuity between the two programs, but I found myself updating many roadmap-related items within Product Board manually. I ended up using the new roadmap feature within Jira instead because I was spending too much time updating. I did like the roadmap within Product Board better because it had more substabce but ultimately I had to toss a coin.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're collecting and managing customer feedback in a single place and ranking feedback as a team more effectively. Our organization is much more aware of the feedback in a shorter period than before.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Data collection for Product Management and UX in a single place makes Product Board an easier decision than using spreadsheets. Airtable was nice, but I could do the same thing plus more in Productboard.

Overall Satisfied and Focused

What do you like best about the product?
I like the features / Kanban view.
I appreciate the inbox, as we often send ideas/feedback to this location.
The ability to merge and easily adjust the hierarchy of features is perfect.
VERY excited about the "This is reliant on this feature" enhancement.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some things I don't necessarily dislike, but moreso am unsure of how to use (ways to collect feedback early). Thus, I'd recommend having some more easy to access tutorials / support. Secondly, and while I am fully capable of prioritizing features and setting timelines/roadmaps, it can be challenging to define and scope them. I'd like a few more pointed sections than the details write up and insights. I think it's too vague and there are standard things I write up in project and product management (type of project/product, stakeholders, required / not required).

When I want to break subfeatures out of components, it's a little clunky because I still want them to be associated with each other but it may not be a part of the same sprint.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Actual planning
Focused planning
Tagging / sharing with key stakeholders
Centralized place to capture all ideas / feedback.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
* make sure you are someone using it for agile product management.
* plan ahead and try to think about how you will use it up front versus jump right in; be strategic.
* know your KPIs and what your goals are.

You're going to love it!

Great product for PM teams to understand customers and prioritize and plan roadmaps

  • May 24, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to map customer insights to features helps bring some real data from a bunch of unstructured feedback. This has helped to justify investment in features that we had considered but not had the justification for in the past. It has also helped make it clear when something may truly be a one-off, as we don't have any other feedback relevant to it. The linking and traceability of this helps us track, dive into the feedback when defining the features, and know who we should follow up with for both more information or to let them know we are building a feature based on what they asked for.

I also love the flexibility in creating and managing roadmaps for different audiences and the powerful features for feature prioritization including customer scoring.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of my prior dislikes have been resolved with recent feature enhancements. I would still like more flexibility with cutom fields (e.g. a custom date field), and some more flexibility on managing releases. Some new features are really nice, but lack of some tools have made adopting them and changing how we use the product more challenging than I would like. For example, the addition of release groups was nice, but moving from one release group to multiple doesn't have a simple path, e.g. now way that I can find to move releases I have between release groups. Similarly, custom swim lanes in a roadmap are a great addition, but they are tied to a specific roadmap view and hard to reuse and manage. I hope as these features mature there will be more management options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Involving more of the organization in gathering feedback, Understanding customer feedback, prioritizing development roadmaps, communicating better internally on roadmaps and reasoning, including giving traceability back to those submitting insights.

Great overall. Lots of customizations which can also lead to decision paralysis

  • May 24, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to process insights without polluting the backlog. Feature creation is more intentional and we love the ability to funnel insights from other places into Productboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the fact that you can do sooo much with it can lead to not knowing if the way you re doing things is right. We also ultimately end up with a separate doc to communicate our top 10 priorities because Productboard is very detailed (sometimes down to subfeatures) that it's hard to provide a good executive summary of what we're doing for the quarter, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product insights management has been a great problem that productboard has solved for us. Feature prioritization and roadmap sharing as well
