Perfect for how we use it!

What do you like best about the product?
It is a beautiful design and help direct high level conversations with our teams
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a little pricing compared to some other tools out there but there are options to only have viewers and creators
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We utilize it specifically for weekly roadmap meetings to help us determine high level project timelines and how to keep them moving forward!

Good for some companies but very limited functionality for companies less focused on roadmapping

  • May 25, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to sort and organize the huge amount of insights that we have coming in from various sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's clear the company is very focused on delivering roadmapping features which is a dying art. Most progressive product companies are less focused on roadmaps and prioritization formulas and more focused on looking at the learnings they are constantly getting from customers, and organizing those identified opportunities. A roadmap is only as good as your current knowledge and assumes that you will learn nothing from that point on. Having more flexible organization tools and ways to display current opportunities would be helpful. Also the segmentation is so frustrating!! We would love to have company information in there and be able to filter and sort the insights based on that, but its so frustrating that it is only based off of email domains--we'd like to import this information or have it imported from an integration. Also the user segmentation is so useless! What's the point of even using tags if you can't dynamically sort by them!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a ton of insights coming in daily and we need a place to tag and sort those insights into opportunities. Essentially that's the only thing we use it for.

Keeping track of wants has never been easier

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to organize and then review product insights from customers, so I can find them when I need them.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am managing multiple products on the same board, and it isn't always easy to keep all product insights organized simultaneously.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the problem of gathering customer requests through our support team and from internal stakeholders. The benefits we see from it are easy to read and manage a list of priorities without digging for what's most important.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out, we have found great success with it, and I think you will too.

ProductBoard is helping not only in our product management process, but also in our product culture

  • May 25, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's a very user-friendly tool, and the roadmap feature is helping us pretty much on the task to align all stakeholders and the leadership team
What do you dislike about the product?
We are still not able to use both insights and portal features. Regarding the insights feature, I reckon it would be handy. However, I feel it would be quite hard to implement it since it would need to connect with other areas, such as CX. When I look at the portal feature, we're currently doing our refinement process using google docs. I'm not sure how comfortable people would be to migrate our existing operation to a new tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
So far, I'm using it to create roadmaps, align my product vision with other product squads, important stakeholders, and the leadership team. It has been handy also to help me to prioritize what to build next and to show the why to everyone else. The benefit is everyone on the same page and aligned in what we are doing. So far my roadmap helped me already to discuss features people believed were more important than what we were planning to do.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great tool even to help your company to achieve a better product culture.

An excellent product management solution

What do you like best about the product?
productboard helps us to consolidate ideas from our customers and team, and organise them into a prioritised roadmap that's based on data driven intelligence. We love the capability of Insights, allowing us to connect specific user scenarios and requests to features that we are planning. Portal provides a great feedback loop for our customers, enabling them to help to shape the future of our product.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a complex solution that can be configured in lots of ways. Whist this is a strength, when you are setting out, productboard can be a somewhat overwhealming. Pricing is a problem for us: I'd like to add more of our team onto the system, so they can all contribute, but at $50 p/mo that's not feasible for us right now. Hopefully it's something we can return to as we grow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to communicate to our customers what we are working on now, and plannig to delver in the future, and why those things matter to them. Our product managment process is less of a blackbox, thanks for productboard.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a way to consolidate feedback from your customers, and your team, and want an easy way to organise and prioritise features, then productboard is a no-brainer. There are lots of ways to customise the system to the way you work, so start simple and adapt as you go.

A great way to organise your team around customer needs and business objectives

What do you like best about the product?
The idea of linking everything is the one thing that I like the most. Every time anyone at the company meets a customer, we take notes and if we have any feedback, we push it to Product Board. Our Product team links the feedback with the different features, objectives, or marks as a new idea. It's incredible the amount of information you can have when you create segments as well. As we focus more on a specific segment, our prioritization process now it's way easier and smoother than before.
What do you dislike about the product?
A few things that are given in roadmaping, like having two tracks, discovery, and delivery. Today the only way of doing this in PB is to duplicate all of your initiatives, with makes everything a mess. Besides that, we need to export all of our customers from HubSpot, upload them in our PB, and then update the segments. Not having direct integration with HubSpot is costing us a lot of time and manual work. We need to have more integrations so PB can work even better with our product development process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our prioritization process is way better now, as we look at customer and business insights in one place. It's easier to internally communicate our roadmap and our progress. ProductBoard also helped us to integrate insights from research, customer support, and customer success. Before PB each team used to have their own notes and documents, now everything is in one place and they are linked! Besides that, we are looking forward to using the portal as well and start communicating our roadmap to our customers.

The biggest benefit for us is having our customers' needs and our business objectives integrated and in one place, making it easier for us to consider both when prioritizing, we don't need to prepare for our roadmap and product sync meetings, since everything is already on productboard.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Productboard is a bit different from the tools we buy and start using it already, you will need to take some time to think about how you want to integrate the tool into your process and how you will shape the tool as well. This takes a while, but I ensure you, it's worth it!

Easy to use and great for collating customer feedback in a frictionless and meaningful way

  • May 25, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to connect to multiple communication channels such as Intercom, Slack, and Gong, allows us quickly and accurately collect customer feedback from source. Taking that feedback and linking to features on our roadmap gives us meaningful insights into what our customers value. The flexibility of the scoring systems allows for multiple ways of priortizing - this linked with the configurable views for the roadmap and features means I can have pages set up for specific needs, from detailed backlog management to high-level strategic planning for each of the development teams. The UI is clean and straightforward; I am happy to share this directly with anyone in my company; there is no need to export to presentations which saves me time and means we work with the most up-to-date information, particularly when integrated with Jira.
What do you dislike about the product?
I want a search in the portal as it quickly becomes hard work to find anything when there are many items. The card view is nice, but I'd like to see other options like a simple, sortable list.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Leveraging customer feedback that we already had to guide our roadmap and uncover customer value. Bringing better organization and habits to the Product team. Improving comms to the whole company.

Productboard - great product management tool

  • May 25, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The multiple views to organise your product backlog, the way to record and keep all your customer inputs and feedback in one place. The cool little comments while pages load.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost. The underwhelming Jira integration - expected more automation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Have one place to keep all our products, the customer feedback for each and a way to manage the roadmap for each product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Carefully consider how you want to set things up...we had to re-work ours after some use.

Great way to keep track of client feedback

  • May 25, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Productboard is a great way to collate and score client feedback so that you know what is most important to discuss in roadmap discussions.
What do you dislike about the product?
When emailing feedback to productboard it can be registered under the person emailing it rather than the person that provided the feedback.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to easily organise all the client feedback in one place as well as keep track of which clients requested which feature so that we can notify them when it is available.

Expensive but excellent feature set for getting organised with managing product development

  • May 25, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Productboard has many great features. Some standouts - Clean UI and different ways to display the data which helps manage product development, an organise way to collect data and many options to create a Roadmap that works for you.
The integrations with Jira and Slack are great too.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost. Quickly becomes expensive for small teams.
The integration with Jira. I'd like more synchronisation features and potentially customisation.
The idea of the portal is great (as a way of getting feedback). But I have found it confusing to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had an issue with 'source of truth' - trying to store ideas and then organise them. I can collect ideas and easily sort. I can evaluate and easily turn them into tasks or tag them to validate objectives/themes or park them for later. Productboard helps with the flow of development from ideation to evaluation to developing to launch. Productboard gives us a birds-eye view, as well as a highly detailed view of the pipeline and everything within.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are having issues with having a source of truth, then Productboard is for you. You can easily store and collect ideas/suggestions, manage tasks and features and turn these tasks into tickets for your development team to work on. The Jira integration is super helpful and syncs up so that you don't have to go to Jira to know if a task/ticket was completed. Productboard allows you to create reports easily for non-tech colleagues to view.
