Versatile Tool Yet Overrated for Setup Intensity
What do you like best about the product?
I use Notion primarily for note-taking and writing personal blogs. The setup of Notion is exceptionally useful, particularly for organizing my materials effectively. I find the handling of information like notes, databases, and Wikipedia-level content to be quite impressive and efficient. Notion's platform allows for adding documents with remarkable ease, simplifying my workflow substantially. In my opinion, Notion excels in offering a simple yet incredibly powerful platform not only for task management but also for enabling seamless collaboration within my team, enhancing productivity and coordination.
What do you dislike about the product?
{"I feel like Notion is a little overrated because I spend more time setting it up to be how I want rather than actually using it and referring to or writing material on it.","I am not satisfied with Notion on iOS mobile. It feels inadequate and needs improvements."}

I use Notion for making decent notes, organizing tasks with its useful database, and enhancing collaboration within my team.
Effortless Information Management, Needs Faster AI
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate using Notion as a central repository for my team's weekly notes, guides, and other essential information, which is easily accessible across the team. I find it incredibly beneficial to save my Granola notes in Notion, utilizing its AI capabilities to search through them effectively when needed. The ability to keep track of comprehensive information in one place is invaluable, and Notion's AI tool enhances this by allowing me to scrape through my firm's documents effortlessly. Notion's AI tool, which summarizes data and searches through notes and company documents, significantly speeds up my workflow by providing precisely what I need without the hassle of manually sifting through documents. This efficiency is a massive time-saver. I also love the ease of initially setting up Notion, as our analyst ported everything over without any issues. Furthermore, I am so fond of Notion that I even created a personal account for managing my wedding planning.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the Granola integration was instant. Notion's auto-record and AI features aren't as quick as Granola's, which is frustrating because I have to manually save Granola meetings into Notion, and I often forget to do it. Additionally, I feel that Notion's AI during meetings isn't as intuitive as Granola's, which can answer questions like 'what questions should I ask right now' or 'make me sound smart.' Notion lacks this level of insightful interaction.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion to centralize team information, making it easy to track notes and access product data with AI, saving time by summarizing documents.
Versatile Tool for Docs, Tables, and Databases
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to use docs, tables and databases
What do you dislike about the product?
For PM it isnt as comprehensive as Jira. It is too complexe or impossible to connect tasks from one db to another with migratinig the db.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Migrated from Jira+Confluence to notion as it is sleeker and better in plenty of ways.
Complex Setup with Promising Features
What do you like best about the product?
For some reason it's the only tool we've tried for product management for which we've gotten full team adoption. This is crucial, as getting everyone on board with a tool is a battle in itself, and Notion has accomplished this. Additionally, the inclusion of Markdown syntax as a feature is a real advantage. It's not only helpful but also remarkably easy for non-technical members of the team to learn and use.
What do you dislike about the product?
* My biggest feature request is to be able to reorder a database arbitrarily. This was I can keep a prioritized backlog for my team without maintaining a priority column which I have to keep updating with arbitrary length decimal values to get things ordered just how I like. I want to be able to just drag items to the intended spot. * I should be able to get friendly links to my pages, for example if I have a database page with a specified short id I should be able to link to "notion.so/company-name/database-id/page-id" * Page comments need to show up in search more clearly. Without this it can be very difficult to find intended pages again. * PDF export should have page breaks and links should link back to the Notion pages * I want to be able to update properties on a page conditionally within an automation * I want to be able to exclude areas from our workspace in search * In publicly published pages (such as visible on the web), it would be nice for headers to show as anchor links (like GitHub does with markdown)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion for project and product management.
I Love Notion!

Building out a resource/hub for our entire global organization and keeping individual teams organized
Great Keyword Search, But Notion AI Needs Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to keyword search all our internal documents.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Notion AI feature is slow and doesn't add much to the search experience. I prefer to use traditional keyword search than having to take extra time to craft the perfect prompt.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saves a lot of time searching through the corporate Box drive for answers.
Intuitive Interface, Robust Data Management
What do you like best about the product?
I am absolutely obsessed with Notion because it's incredibly beautiful to use and super intuitive in connecting everything seamlessly. The level of customization is impressive, offering just the right amount of options without being overwhelming, making the user experience truly great. I appreciate how easy it is to tweak elements and adapt to different use cases or needs, with changes applying effectively across the entire ecosystem. Notion's ability to serve as a knowledge graph for our venture capital fund and family office is invaluable, as it consolidates all our data, making it a single source of truth with various databases for community, companies, documents, verticals, and communications. The functionality of templates and the ease of auto-populating with tools like Zapier enhance its effectiveness further. It feels like a second brain, enabling me to unlock patterns and serve knowledge when needed. I primarily rely on Notion for almost everything, including potentially CRM workflows, despite still integrating other tools for certain aspects. Finally, the initial setup, guided by past familiar use and straightforward navigation, reinforced my enthusiasm, leading me to rate it a solid 10. I truly love Notion; it is my 'baby.'
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that the AI capabilities of Notion struggle with handling large requests, like converting a list of 50 items into pipeline entries using relational databases. This limitation occasionally necessitates the use of other tools like Claude MCP and Manus, which handle such tasks more efficiently. Additionally, I'm somewhat confused and challenged by the searchability of documents within Notion. It wasn't clear how effectively the search feature worked until I implemented an automated Zapier process to make external documents searchable through OCR conversion. The initial setup of Notion, while straightforward, can be overwhelming for new users, particularly due to the lack of guided prompts or AI-driven tutorials to help design frameworks efficiently. It would be beneficial if Notion offered something similar to an onboarding agency or AI that provides guidance on setting up databases, understanding relationships, and utilizing master databases effectively, as I encountered confusion in these areas.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion consolidates our venture capital and family office data, making everything discoverable and unlocking institutional knowledge. It's a single source of truth that organizes information efficiently, acting as a second brain to assist with research and uncover patterns.
Great application with a lot of capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
I can structure my data, jot down notes, track appointments, and send client reports promptly. This helps me manage my workload efficiently and maintain organized professional communications. I use it daily for both personal and professional needs—it's an excellent everyday companion with impressive AI capabilities. Really enjoying the experience so far.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not always straightforward to share folders without ending up having to add paid users to our account. A bit more clarity directly in the sharing steps would be appreciated to avoid having to remove and start over because we didn't take the intended path from the beginning and chose the direct sharing option instead.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I appreciate having all my data centralized in one location, with the ability to link information across different sources. It's especially valuable that the AI can effectively use this data to respond to my internal requests, so I don't need to share knowledge or files with any external applications.
Clunky Editor and Unhelpful Databases Hold Notion Back
What do you like best about the product?
I used to like how Notion allowed me to work with text with an AI support resource.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the text editor to be clunky and difficult to use. I find the databases to be largely unhelpful since they are also very cumbersome to work with. I think Notion has lost track of its user. The Mail and Calendar apps are weak. I feel like the use of agents is more a fad than actually solving a real user problem.
When it comes to working with AI, the problem I have with the AI chat apps that I use, like Claude, is that they don't have document management support. I think that Notion could easily have gone that direction of allowing people to manage their documents with AI support. I just think a lot of features have crept in that aren't helpful.

I have stopped using Notion and switched to Obsidian, which has fewer features but allows for more direct file management by my AI systems that have MCP tools that allow them to update the file system. Since Obsidian allows file edits, this integration actually works quite well.
