So much flexibilty

  • June 30, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very flexible design. Great if you want to have your tasks organized differently. If working with a team, the filters and sorting features are great. Each person can view if to their preferences without bothering other teammates.
What do you dislike about the product?
The table/database features are not an excel spreadsheet replacement. It can do basic math but the sorting and high level statistical analysis cannot be done on the tables.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing task status with other teammates is helpful to show what project tasks are complete. Good for check-in meetings so that people know if tasks are worked on and adding tasks for teammates to work on.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out as your personal task manager before sharing it with others to understand what features are best for your workflow.

Best note taking app for students

  • June 30, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy and straightforward to use, allowing me to easily take down my university notes cleanly and understandably, while also being able to reference pages to other pages
What do you dislike about the product?
Now, this is a hard question as so far I have not found any downsides to using Notion at all. It is straightforward and simple to use maybe a even larger selection of templates could be cool but otherwise nothing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion is helping me keep track of all my study and university notes, while automatically making a bibliography for all the work I am currently writing, helping me stay organized and ready to start my thesis

My operational brain

  • June 30, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
linking databases and notes in one place. Flexibility of me designing my own system.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. cluttered search. Since more pages are created, I would like to have - un-search in this page as a function. For example, I have Archive, where I can move my older projects.
2. When I onboard a team member - it takes some time ( a lot of time) to explain the notion and our operational principles
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing, sorting, and linking information of my operational brain.

Better than dumpster fire Atlassian but not the WOW I desire

  • June 30, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simple and fast. Whatever you do, please, please, please keep the site fast and performant. In general, I think the document management is really good and I LOVE the ability to use emojis for a document icon. Support is also excellent. I love how responsive it is.
What do you dislike about the product?
For me to drool over this product, rave about it to my friends and be a 10, the comments have got to be better.

No system has gotten this right and it drives me nuts. Here is what I dislike about Notion's
1. It is hard to comment on a view/table. The comments can end up hiding part of a table. It feels clunky when I do it.
2. We start a big old discussion on a request for comment (RFC). This is awesome. I address feedback in a thread. BAD. If I deleted the comments on text, suddenly the comments are lost. I can try to get back to the discussion but it is difficult.

Documents:
For this to also be a step up, I want a way to see what documents I have been assigned to. Otherwise it gets lost in the day to day. I think views are complicated to figure out. I should honestly try and level up my Notion game by watching a few videos but when I create a view, my brain always first thinks "WTF is going on" and then I delete it unless I really need it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Best documentation product I've used and it does level up my company's ability to document and scale. It is awesome for documentation plans and tracking where we are at. It is just the discussion around documents that need improvements for me to start recommending it. Right now if a collegue or friend asked, I'd say "Well, Notion is the best one I've used but it still just doesn't quite do it for me. For my own selfish reasons you should try out a different one on the market and report back to me"

Notion can be as simple and minimal or as expressive and powerful as you want it!

  • June 30, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the expressiveness of what I can create depending on what I am writing. The notion is versatile for my lists, calendars, databases, linking, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the embeds with different external applications are laggy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion allows me to have everything I need in one place. I can link out for specific apps, since the embeds are not always the best or fast or optimized.

Notion is great

  • June 30, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Powerful linked databases with different views, filters, sorts and hidden columns.
What do you dislike about the product?
1) Guest access should improve: I don't like it that anyone can see the list of names and emails of people with access to a shared page.
2) Custom domains should improve: I would like to use a full custom domain, and not .notion.so/
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Single source of truth for company knowledge and project organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I strongly recommend it.

Notion keeps me organised

  • June 30, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It looks really good and you can create lots of different views to organised information in a very visual way!
I love the use of emojis and how you can share this pages publically, which always look great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is not so user friendly, moving pages to different areas can sometimes be tricky. For example, you can end up losing pages if you aren't careful. Moving things around on pages can also be quite difficult too!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Shared area for our company, and writing up my notes and drafts
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Test it out first!

What do you like best about the product?
The new simple way to store thousands of artifacts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe not so obvious working with notifications. And work with permissions could be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tons of information is now in one Wiki, a lot of colleagues

The tool that changed my life

  • June 30, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I've used a lot of tools in this space, and none of them were very easy to find things, customize, etc. With Notion, you can make it your own. I love how easy it is to create templates. It has saved us tons of times. When it comes to content on pages, you can literally make them whatever you want with the various content block types that exist. If you change your mind, it's also very easy to change one content block type to another or move pages or content around. With one tool, I can do everything I need to...capture meeting notes, create project plans, create guides and deliverables, keep track of statuses of various things, even create our product roadmap. I have been able to do everything I've needed. Anytime I have questions, support is quick to respond.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve is big. If you understand databases, I feel like Notion is the most powerful tool in the world. If you're used to working more in code or technical systems, it's a breeze. But if you're a person that is used to working in Microsoft Word or teams for everything, it's not very intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication across the organization - we have a single source of truth. This saves time and energy that used to be wasted tracking down answers or setting people straight on things.

Project planning - I'm able to manage all projects in Notion, which means I don't have to work in a project management system and then move to something else to get other information out.

Strategic planning - We're able to do our strategic planning for our business here, which provides instant visibility to leaders and staff.

Meeting management - No longer do I have to send out meeting notes after a meeting. I can share an agenda ahead of time, people can add items to discuss real time, we can have a database of to-dos and a place for notes. In real-time everyone can see things, and it's easy to follow-up after.
