We are creating our Company Wiki (and all the notes) in Notion

  • February 14, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I can put in order all my ideas in. Currently, we are creating a Wiki where we are documenting all the processes storing videos, and podcast links,...

We can work with any kind of document: images, Gantt, docs, tables,...
What do you dislike about the product?
The Referral program. I'd like Notion had a referral program like Airtable. I've recommended Notion to a lot of friends and colleagues with no rewards or very low rewards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's the first time that I feel I can put all my thoughts in order. I can kind of documents and I can connect between them. Until using Notion, I had a lot of spreadsheets and gdocs that I finally stopped working with.

What do you like best about the product?
It is like Legos, but for information. You can build whatever you need and improve it over time.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be hard to get others (particularly volunteers) to use Notion as they can be overwhelmed at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion helps me organize all sorts of information - for my business, my church, and my personal life

Generally Amazing, with improvements to be made

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that I can organise my thoughts and ideas in an organized and intuitive way. For work, it has been immensely helpful since I am generally messy. Also, for planning things and making graphs, the different integrations with a lot of apps makes it simple to create a centralised ecosystem, which I highly appreciate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lags, definitely. The response time is often longer than I would like it. Also, the fact that time (days, hours, minutes, seconds) hasn't yet been added as database value: it would help tremendously to create a time budget. Also the fact Google Agenda hasn't yet been integrated into Notion, and I'm not the first one to say this. Unless, of course, the Notion team makes the built-in Notion calendar on par with Google Agenda.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mind mapping, ideas think-tank, synchronizing work within a team. It's a ridiculously powerful app also for budgeting matters, as well as building frameworks, among other things.

Overall a great product, with exceptional flexibility. It's easy though to get yourself in trouble.

What do you like best about the product?
As a platform, Notion has a relatively easy new user experience and is extremely extensible, with many options for customization and opportunities to record, relate and display data.
What do you dislike about the product?
As the API was only rolled out in May 2021 there is a limited number of good, useful integrations that are available. The other major pain point for us is the lack of user roles, there are only two "Workspace Owner", and "Member." And while there are options available at the teamspace/page level for "guests" it would be extremely helpful to have more options available for those internal to the workspace.

(A more minor current annoyance is that the platform doesn't always allow a user to select a template after the content of an existing page is cleared.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion is currently serving as our "one-stop shop" for almost all information in the business. It's our CRM, project management, team knowledgebase, SOP repository, and day-to-day task manager. Previous to utilizing Notion, we had many different systems that we were attempting to keep synchronized with all of this information and that was challenging. Now it's much easier to find needed information, stay on track, and provide better, more consistent support to our clients.

When it comes down to it, the question is what isn't Notion touching? :) Of course, the biggest challenge with it all being in one place is building/adapting the platform as we shift and grow. But even with that, short of custom-coding our own solution, Notion has been one of the best investments we've made for internal software.

The product you NEED to organize (literally) everything

  • February 14, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I absolutely love how it uses databases to organize items. What this means (for you new users out there) that you can organize all of your notes (personal or business), your tasks (to dos, project tasks), and any other information in an easily accessible way!

I am currently using Notion as a second brain. Literally as a SECOND brain. It's my idea dump, my project manager, my to do list manager, my personal wiki. Everything that I think of or need to put on 'paper' gets put into Notion.

Honestly switching from Evernote was the best thing I could have done for my personal and business productivity.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first, Notion can SEEM overwhelming. And in my experience, I felt there were to many features to consider and quite honestly, I didn't really know where to start. But let me say... don't let this hold you back. Keep playing with it and you'll pick it up in less than a day.

If you need a starting point, just use it as a simple note taker! Then explore it's various features slowly over time. You really can't go wrong taking this approach — as you can always go back to implement any functionality that you need later.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I would say that the biggest problem Notion has solved for me, is allow me to CONSOLIDATE all of my tasks and notes and ideas into one place. Before Notion, I had to use 5-6 different applications to organize these things. And the worst part was that these apps did NOT integrate or communicate with each other.

Notion allows you to link pages, so that you have one cohesive system. It makes my life so much easier.

... oh and I should mention that if you're a content creator / writer — they just introduced an AI writer to cut your creative process in half! And absolute game-changer.

Planning and organizing are my passions so this tool was a welcome addition to my workstation.

What do you like best about the product?
Notion has replaced my planner, my idea notebook and my content management system.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's lots of features and quite a learning curve!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using Notion, my work was spread out all over the place. I have never before been as organized as I am now using Notion.

Changed my life

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The minimalistic approach to everything. Reusable blocks. Speed. Everything is just amazing. Plus, the ability to quickly share the documents is on another level.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I do not like about Notion is not being able to use my own domain name for sharing. It has to be with notion.so prefix which is annoying because I have to share these links to my enterprise customers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Every process is our company is being documented on Notion. Our SOPs are all aligned and team is super productive while following these procedures. Plus, the whole team is on the same organization.

What do you like best about the product?
I have a lot of ideas, and Notion has a lot of ways to get my many visions documented in an orderly fashion!
What do you dislike about the product?
Eh, I'm not a superuser just yet, but when I am confronted with a challenge, trust me - I will let you guys know (coming from a Product Manager).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Everything is everywhere all at once. I use Notion to organize my thoughts and projects / tasks.

There's nothing else like it

  • February 14, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Notion has a unique approach to note-taking, striking a perfect balance between depth and ease of use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the simplicity of Notion holds you back when you need that extra inch of customization, for instance changing the font on a block of text.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Databases tend to be very inflexible in their structure. Notion adds that flexibility without adding complexity.

Notion Whiz and Process Queen

  • February 14, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The upsides on using Notion is the ability to connect with teams/people - create a useful workspace and share information freely. I have a huge preference for Notion because it's highly customizable and feasible to create different pages and boards to share timelines and information.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish notifications had more robustness to it. If there were people tags in specific properties and any changes made to a ticket would notify the user it would be more preferred. Notifications in of itself is good, but there can be more functionality around this which would help work processes in our teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's helping us solve our processes for both product and project management. It's helping us organize our work for our distributed teams as our company is remote. I can easily track the work that is being completed with the new changes with Parent and Sub tasks as well as linking dependencies.
