Easy to use, easy to learn, and fast
What do you like best about the product?
Fivetran makes it easy to capture data without needing to fully understand the underlying structure of that data.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if they had more connections!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're automating our most common ETL scenarios with clients and it's saved a ton of time.

error messages are not helping. Hard to do troubleshooting while there is a task
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data integrations from different systems are always hard. Fivetran provided neat solutions for that. And generated reporting ready model for APIs.

What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to use and virtually replaces the need for a data engineer in some aspects.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a little bit pricy with the per connector cost.

Shoveling data into snowflake out of several sources.

Decent UI, data is versioned and always in the same place.

It could be easier. Maybe make a browser plugin or some other shortcuts.

Better communication and tracking

What do you like best about the product?
FiveTran is a super easy to use tool with data connectors to all major marketing and web analytics data sources that make reporting automation easy for any Ad Agency. The interface is very intuitive, and it doesn't take much to get started. Building data pipelines is as simple as a few clicks. The FiveTran team is always adding new data connectors that simplify complex ETL processes. Plus the compatibility with Snowflake is a game-changer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not many comes to mind. Looking forward to new features that they will add.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
FiveTran is a great tool to automate all your marketing analytics reporting. Prior to FiveTran we leveraged other software tools that brought in our marketing data to Google Sheets, from there we would do additional ETL to make reporting possible. Now we bring everything into the warehouse with a few simple clicks! FiveTran has saved us a tremendous amount of time and there support teams are always responsive.
They have connectors for everything! Clean front end design and very easy to use

There is a connector for every software that we use.

The up charge on connectors although we were grandfathered in for this year

We use MySQL , aurora and snowflake And the software allows us to easily import into snowflake for use or analyze and bring the data into looker

Easy connector set up with many integrations.

A bit slow with larger data sets on initial import.

Fivetran: Managed ELT so you can better leverage your engineers time
What do you like best about the product?
Fivetran is a fully managed and automated data pipelining solution. It saves time and energy for your engineers and allows you to do more with less.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fivetran does ELT very well but there are certain times where ETL is a better solution. It doesn't have many solutions in regards to solving ETL problems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At it's core, Fivetran is a Data Centralization tool. It's main purpose is to unite data from all your disperate sources such as Salesforce, Marketo, Postgres, or Cloud Storage and load them into your MPP data warehouse of choice (Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, Synapse, etc.).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look through the connectors they offer. Even if they don't offer all the connectors you would need, they are responsive to adding new ones and you can often find other solutions to adding data to your Warehouse. You are able to do a ton with very little resources and although you may have to do some data massaging down the line, it really enables small teams to do a great amount of work.
It's important to think about your entire data ecosystem when purchasing Fivetran. It's often a tool which is best leveraged when bundled with other tool such as a Modern MPP database like BigQuery or Snowflake and with a great BI platform tool like Looker.
With a combo like the one mentioned above, your team can really work to leverage data throughout your entire organization with only a few resources.

What do you like best about the product?
It has been easy to set up and maintain and allows us to keep on systems that otherwise take a lot of maintenance (to be managed manually). It was easy and straightforward to install the connectors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having firebase data is a bit of an effort right now, so we look forward to the connector. We wish that before the data warehouse, they had a transformation sheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fivetran helped us to set up our system for internal BI and analytics reporting. Your support team is always great to help us solve problems and we appreciate your product updates. We now have a comprehensive and easy to use reporting tool that puts together data from a range of different sources across our entire ecosystem.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think everything has gone relatively smoothly. I wouldn't change anything, therefore. Naturally, we spent time trying to work on some connectors. Yet it was also a good learning opportunity for our team.
